Lame wolf - I can't add to what others have said so well. Please remember that you can come on here and let it out at any time. Many of us know how helpful that can be; it is a totally safe place for you to do that without fear of judgement. This is not your normal and you will come through the cloud again...

A small rant. I was away from home for five days, during which I did one load of washing. All the washing was up to date before I left. Why, then have I just done FIVE 7kg loads of washing - especially given that DS's is still on his floordrobe....

Off to Kent tomorrow to have the discussion with brother about what he wants doing with dads house... Not looking forward to that..

On the upside I am spending the night with my sister so looking forward to that.
I wanna be in the room where it happens

Hope you're ok LW. Try not to punish yourself, it wasn't you that caused the problem in the first place.

My trip north at the weekend resulted in about 15 enormous bites, all around my hairline and neck. Really painful but not so itchy now but I have noticed that the glands at my neck are raised. Damn those Highland beasties!

LM are you physically ok? The reason I ask is that I have found recently the merest hint of an UTI and my brain goes haywire and endless historical crap goes on endlessly.

Virtual hugs Lonewolf. You're incredibly strong to be coming here and telling us and you're going to be strong enough to stuff those memories somewhere too. I second what FPK says though, look for a decent distraction. I was going to suggest a kind of craft or even learning a new one, something that makes your brow furrow with concentration so you can't think of anything else.

Nursemaggie, I'd be querying whether you really want that insurance, or if you should maybe just put the insurance money aside each year to build up your own insurance.

VJsmum, that laundry should have gone into bags and been returned to the owners room!

I can't believe how much you lot are being eaten alive. Anyone would think you'd all emigrated or something :p

I did think of that softstuff but before it was enough to cover say a fire I would have been paying it out in rent, because if you accumulate money in the bank they take your housing benefit away.

VJsmum, words need to be had with the culprit. It does not take a genius to work out who.

Lamewolf delurking to send you virtual hugs x

You are very brave to be so open and it shows what strength you have even though you may not always feel it.

You can’t control your thoughts but displacement activity can help (anything that fully occupies your mind - I think you bake, so making one of your carrot and orange cakes maybe, or a craft activity, doing a crossword).

And look forward to Honey coming :)

    Morning all.

When I woke up this morning the sun was shining, so after I had given my alarm clock breakfast I put some washing into soak. It is now as dark as night and the forecast is heavy storms (thundery in nature), oh goody! One thing I'm looking forward to when I move is having a washing machine again.

I've come back to bed in disgust, accompanied by a mug of coffee, my book and my faithful companion.
Ivyleaf, she is indeed short haired, although you'd never believe that if you saw the state of the dark brown suede sofa after she has had a sneaky roll on it.
She is also all white except for one black ear, a black patch over one eye and a black nose. She weighs about a ton of muscle, bone, fat and a lot of internal metal that is keeping her all joined together.

Softstuff, have you ever experienced Sottish midges? The Spanish Inquisition is child's play compared with the damage those little blighters can inflict.

LameWolf. All my thoughts and love are with you. Just one foot in front of the other today.

I don't know what is happening today. Life is an adventure when you don't have plans so I'll come back later and tell you what I have done, if anything, apart from trying to dry the washing I have embarked on.

    THOUGHT FOR TODAY

'Vegetarian' is the old Indian word for 'Bad Hunter'.

Absolutely agree monna. The Scottish Midge is in a class of it's own! We don't get much bother from them here, they seem to prefer lower ground and more trees. Still living inside a pint of milk up here, been white luminous mist for days. Getting cabin fever...

    Morning all,

Lamewolf, I hope today is feeling brighter.

Nursemaggie, are you able to go with another company or do you have to stay with your current one? We end up changing companies every year for our contents insurance to get the best rate. Often if you ring them up with a quote from another company the existing one will match it, but OH thinks this is a dirty practice (I don't disagree, but he sorts insurance) so goes with the new company out of spite.

We've had a tiny bit of good news about dad. They have finally ruled out another stroke. We're hoping to get results about his heart today, although they've delayed some other tests until he is stronger as his symptoms have improved.

I also managed to pick up some cream last night before yoga--there was only one option but it has worked. The bites are still there and a bit swollen but the area around them is much better and I've finally got relief from the itching! I think it must be the weather this year with plenty of warm days interspersed with wet days. The lettuce is loving it, but the larvae must as well.

I'm feeling quite stressed at the moment, so I shall be on a stringent look after myself plan for the next few days. I haven't yet worked out what this will entail but I'll think of something.

Hugs to all who need them.x
