    Bum - lost a post!

Mary B - healing vibes for your DH - big shock but very lucky it was spotted and being dealt with.
Ivy - congratulations to DSiL and very best wishes for his new job.
Dirty deed done today - hair chopped off and recoloured. Pleased with the result and also very pleased that the salon had a 50% off offer on today hat I didn't know about - one happy bunny.
MrsL - happy to have puss or HWK along with the toad ;) (hope he feels better soon X)

Camelot - calm waters for our boat - no feeling queasy - alcohol in varying amounts seems to work wonders ;)
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

I'll take the cat but I ain't taking any husbands. Got one thankuverymuch and he is enough.
  • I don't mind lending him out, he's very practical and useful for all sorts of jobs building, decorating, mending cars, gardening, being tall (he can reach all the places I have to stand on a chair for), just being kind etc. but I'll want him back he's my bestest buddy and he makes me laugh, smile and feel the world's not such a bad place after all and I'd miss him dreadfully if he wasn't here! xxx.

p.s He's also the most untidy person I've ever met, just saying like!

Don't worry Softstuff, I only break out the clingfilm on special occasions.

Erm... I'll be arriving in 3 weeks... although I'll be rather a long way south of you on this trip. Might be over your way in October though  I could probably fit a few others in my luggage if they don't want to travel ark and elephant...

If you are anywhere near in October, would love to meet up if you had a free patch? With or without others, arks or elephants.

I will let you know when I know whether I'm definitely travelling. I'm pretty sure it's near you (I realise 'near' is a relative term in your part of the world!), and it would be lovely to escape work for a bit and meet up!

I had my jabs for this trip today... 24 hour stop in Manila means I need to get up to date. I've just got to find the paperwork with the details of the last rabies jab I had...

The gremlins are about again. Haven't lost a post for ages and I've lost two today.

maryb, what a shock, but think of all the time you've saved waiting around for appointments.

Mrs LW. this seems to be the way with cats. You don't choose them, they choose you. You were probably being interviewed.

Silvasava, don't you find that if your hair looks good, it makes you feel good all over.

Camelot. How are you in the air? We could always attach a balloon to the boat for you. We'll set up a pulley system to get food and drink up to you.

LW. There is a name for people who trump your best jokes with something even better. If I weren't so highly bred and the forum monitors weren't so quick on the draw I might even call you it. Still, not in front of the children.

Mar, I saw an offer on freegle once for a husband, only slightly used, will deliver.

Pickle dropped in after school, full of her new trampoline, which her father said wearily only took him about 6 hours to erect.

I do believe that tomorrow really is Thursday so I can do all the birthday, hair cutting, shopping things for real.

Better than all the time saved having tests is all the time waiting to have the op. I was immensely grateful I did not have a few weeks waiting for my op. I basically got right your definitely bleeding internally we need to open you up and have a look, sign here. The next thing I knew I was in intensive care and they were marvelous.

It's a very successful operation your DH will be having, gives people years of extra life. Count your blessings neither of you have weeks to worry about it. I will be praying for him and the surgical team.

We have been so lucky. Originally they said he would be in the local hospital for a week on bed rest (they weren't letting him go anywhere!) then transferred to Kings next week with a view to surgery end of next week or the week after. Then yesterday we were told OK there's an ambulance coming for you in an hour and when we got there we were told he was on the list for Thursday.

It has all been a bit of a bolt from the blue but I am so very thankful. I'm not sure I would be safe around the next person to criticise the NHS

Thank you for all your kind thoughts and good wishes and prayers (sending up a lot of those myself)
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!
