I'm a mere teenager Monna so I have no idea what you are talking about!
I'm a gnu, the gnicest work of gnature in the zoo.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
I think you're going to be Monica for a wee while yet.
Welcome home! Fancy uprooting us eh?
Back to business: super happy to see that Mar is gardening and that pooky has a plot to play on.
I have been gardening myself. I'm going to whisper this next bit though because I don't want to jinx it. I I think I'm getting better, but I I have more energy, even in the evening which has been a problem for the last few years. It might be the yellow thing though and the lovely brightness but I'm hoping to be a blue a*set fly once again!:shhh:
PS the amount of time it takes to type my post out means I lose the flow resulting in worse than usual grammatical errors. sorry0 -
Love the gnu song hester. I also loved The gas man cometh, (it all makes work for the working man to do.) andvthe one going through the weather for every month of the year ending with, " bl**dy January again.
If you don't know Paddy Roberts you would love him. Considered quite risque in the 50s but very very funny. The Ballad of Bethnel Green and Love ain't what it used to be are my favourites. Lines like "There's no leading up to a gentle caress, it's just grab a handful and damn the finesse," and "There's no asking father permission to wed, it's just Hiya honey, and hop into bed." produced sharply indrawn breaths and outraged expressions from any adults in the vicinity. .Lovely stuff.
Never encourage me down memory lane.
I have a long memory Fuddle and will always know who to blame for Monica. I know just what you mean by typing one letter at a time playing havoc with the flow. It's also a bore having to go back and alter Damon back to damn and Indian back to indrawn. And Monica back to Monna.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Well hello to Monica, and just what did you lot do to get this pure and sinless thread removed while I was away????? I don't know, I take two days off (OH my God I am exhausted now those Grandpickles are such hard work) and the thread got itself deleted, thank heavens MSEAndrea has the magic finger to restore it to us and that she must have a very forgiving nature to do so as well! Behave yourselves it might not be Andrea next time and of course none of this has anything whatsoever to do with Mar and Me, why we are always completely PC and pure as the driven snow aren't we my friend?.....ducks very low and runs!0

Nice to be back in our rightful place, With our collective ages, I worried about wandering off onto other threads and losing someone
Hope you are all enjoying the sun x
I have been trying to, popping in and out of garden, but I have an annoying cold, my throat feels like it been glassed - apart from that and a snotty dose I feel fine, so will struggle to go to the pub of medicinal G&T's tonight for a friend's birthday :rotfl:
I have done the bi annual toe nail painting (Christmas and summer) don't know why I bother as I have fat feet and they look like cherries on elephants toes
I have cleared out the linen closet, got rid of some old towels and all of our single bedclothes as we no longer have a single bed and some old pillows we were holding onto, just in case (of what, I have no idea) - this will all be donated to the local dog shelter, they aren't good enough for human use, but ideal to dry off puppies xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

So glad the thread is back. Thank you all for the warm welcome. Please don't anyone change, you are great the way you are and make me smile.
Well, today I have resigned from my job. Although it is a bit scary the sense of relief is enormous. Now I need to work at making the best of what I have, both health wise and money wise. I've always been fairly OS, it's the way I was brought up. So, here's to the future
