"I have no friends " well Silveroldie and Lamewolf that is the last time you will ever be able to use those words as you now have all of us whether you like it or not lol.
Be careful what you wish for as we are a very eclectic group of people with odd tastes and some of the mature ladies could easily lead you astray.
Look forward to getting to know you over the next few weeks so find a space, grab the tipple of your choice and hand round the cakes/biccies xxBeing unable to leave the house without assistance doesn't help; and being terrified of actual, real, F2F speech really puts the kybosh on making RL friends.
MMF I've just seen your pictures; much respect to you. Both are fab - being an animal person, I really love the pudd'n-cat.
I've just come back from town and am not a happy Wolf. Where to start - I have a long list of 9 items on Repeat Prescription. I put in an order for 5 - three ordinary and two Controlled Drug items (I have two lots of morphine tablets as I have 40mg twice daily, but they don't make them in 20 or 40 mg format so I have to have 10s and 30s.)
Mr LW usually picks up the morphine script from the surgery for me, but when he went this morning, they told him S/Drug had collected it. Strange, I thought, but ok they must know.
Onward into town - S/Drug had the three ordinary items ready for me, but had no trace of the morphine script. Pharmacy assistant rang the surgery to ask if it was still there - now, get this, the receptionist said it might be but she'd have to go "out the front" to look, which she refused to do. That is the bit I am cross about.
Anyways, we reckon the person Mr LW spoke to at the surgery wasn't clear that it was a controlled drug script which is in addition to the other drugs (though Mr LW did say it's one I have to sign for) so it's still there; S/Drug have stepped up to the plate, they will have their driver collect it tomorrow, and will deliver the meds to me at home on Monday, so hooray to them, but big fat raspberries to the GP receptionist who cba to get off her butt and go and look.
It's just a good thing I always order my meds well to time; if I was one of those people who leave it til the last minute, I'd be well and truly up sh*t creek with no paddle!
ETA: Islandmaid you may have my share of the gin; I can't drink the stuff, it gives me a blinding headache.:(If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
LW I will happily look after  your share of the gin ration - I have a lovely Elderflower 'mocktail' I make for our driving or non drinking guests if that's up your street x
Glad you got your issue resolved in the end, I swear some people think their jobs are far more important than they actually are, not just in the medical world - but that is no excuse for being lazy xNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Islandmaid I can't stand Gin either it tastes like nasty medicine. No doubt it would make me sick and I am not allowed alcohol with my cancer drug it stops it working. We would not want that as it will start growing again. Your Elder flower sounds good. I think Blackpool is a bit far for you to come for a few hours but assuming I am well enough I would quite like to stay for a few days.
LW I can understand that I have codeine and I am down for up to 16 a day only 30 mg tabs. They only allow me 6 and a half days supply. When I go for more I cannot afford to wait.
I am just going to the Drs with my repeat form now. I will have none when I collect the prescription tomorrow. I try to do without as much as I can but yesterday my scoliosis flared so I really need them now. My hips and knees are really bad too.
The receptionists are very bad at looking properly in the file and say it is not their. One weekend last year I had to go all weekend without any tablets apart from the one for my cancer which is delivered every month from the Christie.
The script was their all the time, but I was not well enough to collect it and DS believed them. I would have made them keep looking because I had ordered it 3 days before.0 -
Elderflower mocktail sounds divine! Spirit-wise, my preference is for single malt whisky.
nursemaggie only six and a half days' supply?? Ye gods and little fishes! At least I get a month's worth of morphine at a time! I'd be permanently on my hands and knees crawling if I had to go and get meds on a weekly basis, through lack of spoons.
I assume folks know the Spoon Theory? Just in case, here it is:

Ah well Islandmaid, it looks as though it will be me and thee for our get -together. Is it one bottle each or do we have to share?
LW I think more of us can relate to you than you would imagine. I am pretty confident now but it was not always the case. As a child, my mother said that it was easier to get me to the dentist than to a party. I will still find all manner of excuses to get out of a party. However, I have led the sort of life where meeting people and public speaking was essential, so I had to get on with it. However, although I have never had your difficulties I can still feel for you.
When it comes to the phone I am fine if someone rings me, but if I have to ring someone I put it off for as long as possible. I always imagine that they will be in the middle of a meal, just stepped out ofbthe shower or at the top of a ladder painting the ceiling. Certainly not about to welcome a call from me.
I suppose we all have our strange hang-ups to a greater or lesser extent. LW, you are wise to prefer your canine friends. They will never let you down, make you feel foolish or demand something that you are unable to give.
I am wittering on here to put off cleaning the oven. I coated it in gunk this morning and have to go and scrape it all off, hoping that most of the baked on grease will come with it. As soon as I finish on here I have to go back to the kitchen.
War and Peace, anyone?I believe that friends are quiet angels

Monna I'd far and away sooner clean the oven than *gulp* socialise!
Reminds me, mine needs doing - but that will wait til Buddy and Indi have gone home, I don't want to stink them out.If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
Monna If we are keeping it local, let's have a bottle of Mermaid each I'm sure it will be fine :rotfl: :hic:
I am no teacher (too fond of profanity) but I deal with 100's of, shall we say special individuals with complex needs and have to deal with huge groups at a time on occasion - I have my metaphorical 'amour' and whilst it is on I am confident and in control.
I love to take off the 'armour' and be the introvert me, it's like comfy slippers - happiness is home and family :ANote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

LW I have never heard of that before. I understand exactly. I can never answer the question, "What would be the best day for you?"
I check my Christie appointments and tell them not those days then I give it back to them. When I have a hospital day I find I am totally out of spoons by the time I get back into the city centre. I then have to cross the city centre on foot because their are millions of people waiting at the tram stops.
I end up walking like those people who can't quite make it to the end of a marathon, bent over and weaving about all over. Time before last I arrived at Victoria to find the lifts out of order. You have to get there what ever but no one understands.
Maybe I should show DS the spoon theory. Maybe DD too because she gets so cross because I can't get ready to go out in 2 minutes.
I'm not very good on the phone yet I used to be fine with officials when I had to sort things for my tenants. I always use the internet if I can.0 -

LameWolf I think you have said we have so much in common.
I lost my canine friend 4 years ago, still miss him so much. He gave me more love than any human, except DH
Today we visited mother, she's is amazing ( but very difficult) . Last week when she was in hospital I really thought her time had come. Today you would never believe how ill she was.
She asked how old the oldest person was, I said I thought about 115 years old, she said Oh I've still got a few years to go. I think she will outlive me.If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.0
