    Goodnight monna .

To quote your very fitting thought for today sleep in peace tonight to you and all here .

I do still have a few days left to prevaricate so will follow last weeks advice too . It's very usual if you spread it over the week ..

I just looked at today's new list of houses and flats to let in Manchester and around. I have seen several I like but miles away. Even one for softstuff's mum in Morecambe. I know she would not move and it is not good to move her anyway.

The flat I put my name down for has disappeared and I have been shortlisted for somewhere I have never even heard of. I have found a very nice proper Housing Association flat that looks very nice. Trouble is Google has gone and bl00dy lost it.

How can the go and lose a great big 3 story building. It's called St Matthew's Grange and they keep sending me to St Matthews Primary School. It does not seem to be in that area because the postcode is different. It can't be far from here as the postcode is not that different. It is definitely in the same suburb. So is the other address but it looks like a house not a block of flats.

Almost everything to let this week is Sheltered Housing. There is an awful lot in this area. This one Google has lost I accidentally found and read the notice board outside so I know I have the right one. I just can't get the map. I have stood outside, but will it let me have the map, so I know where I am? No it will not, nor will it let me walk away to find out where I am.

This flat is slightly bigger than the others and a lot more expensive. I am wondering if it includes the heating, some of them do. This one has a church across the road. It's relatively modern so it could be the Baptist church I know is in the area, or even an Evangelical one.

I will send them an email as soon as I have found where the heck it is. I have a feeling it is not far from an Ald! This one is a bit small so does not have the full range. It does not have room to extend it because they are making them all bigger and making them look posh. DS tells me they will all be very nice but it is going to take 2 years.

Thay's enough of my rambling. It's probably not a good idea to live next door to DS is it.

Thanks for your offer Cranky, I'll give you a shout next time I'm in Chester. I had a lovely drive home, the first hour in silence as my ears were bleeding!!

Do....have you ever been to Port Sunlight? We could go there. There's a small and pleasant cross between an art gallery and a museum which was dedicated to the memory of Lady Lever and a garden centre that does yummy cake :)

    Silver-oldie....have a hug from me :)

Wow! I just logged on before going to bed and found three pages of posts just today. This thread moves quickly!!

To SilverOldie - I hope that you've read all the kind and wonderful posts on here today for you. I think you do have social skills by the way as you come across in writing extremely well and as the sort of person we all want to be friends with. I am glad to have met you and I hope your bruises are getting better. I have a small circle of friends as I am naturally quite self contained or introverted. It took me years to accept that I just don't need as many people close to me as others do. Perhaps you too are a bit of an introvert? Either way you are a nice person!

Monna - thank you so much for your wisdom about teaching. I think it certainly has changed even in the last decade since I started (late) in the career. Gove unleashed capability on us and it's now being used to push out anyone over 50 who is expensive in a most cruel and inhumane way. I shall prevail though! My sense of humour is intact and the summer is coming so all will be well.

I can't keep up with everyone posting on here but you are all superb and I am so glad I stumbled on this thread!!

Over and out for tonight, Hopefuljoy xx

Silveroldie.....I know how difficult it can be to talk to people about exactly how we feel. I am lucky enough to have a small number of good friends in RL, but find it impossible to unload when things are really bad and I am very lonely........the friends that I have made here are wonderful and boost me every day.

NM are you looking at the area around Mount St or is that a different development ? There are so many different providers it's hard to know . I can see a B&Q on the map with street view ..

Hopefuljoy We aren't always so chatty . Don't worry about keeping up . A lot of the time I'm playing catch up . I do agree with your comments to Silveroldie .

Hi Cranky long time no see . Another lover of Chester here . I hope all is well with you and the HT and your leg is finally ok .

I know I've been missing in action. I had my waist length hair cut short and instead of a quick brushing and a ponytail it now takes a lot of fiddling around with in the mornings so the 20 minutes or so I used to use for posting is now occupied elsewhere. My best mate is having a rough time at work so I've been online game playing with him most evenings (and a fair bit over the Easter weekend too). Just as well otherwise I'd have nobody to talk to (we talk online for free using a service called discord and a headset connected to our computers). The house troll's conversation just now is limited to either "UH" which is the answer to most things and one other thing usually said when required to explain things like how exactly his trousers broke. The phrase is "Idunnknow" said as all one word rather in the tone that you'd imagine Scooby Doo would use. Teenagers are such fun ;)

I take it you're missing the easy hair option Cranky . I'm pleased you and your good friend are supporting each other again . I do hope his work situation improves . As for the teenage years x 4 I can't recall a lot I miss especially with two generations under this roof , oh the joy .
I'm another who spent many a happy day around Port Sunlight . iI always had a fondness for " model villages " and Lord Leverhulme was a bit of a trailblazer .As a teenager I lived near one funded by Octavia Hill a trailblazer in her own right . I often muse on how all the needs of the tenants were taken into account and wonder how that got lost over the following years . Take care of yourself and the HT he'll grow out off it one day . x

NM I'm beginning to see your difficulty . Quite a number of flats under BL1 3UT and different providers . The one on Stowell St looked good but then I noticed it's a second floor flat .
Onwards and hopefully forward is all I can say . I'd start phoning .
Once things are back to normal after the bank holiday hopefully your son could get positive news on the checking process .
If he moves quickly it will give you more time to sort your own belongings in a clearer space . I know you're working on sorting now but it will be quicker with his stuff gone .
I think it's more likely to be sorting stuff and cleaning that's raising dust at the moment .
I know you were thinking of face masks but I often use the professional dust masks when deep cleaning or sanding . They work well .

CRANKY he'll grow out of it quicker than you think and before you know it he will be walking out the door for good. I've done well to keep mine until 24.

polly you're in the right street. Looks nice doesn't it? All the others I have looked at have commercial buildings or derelict mills to look at. This one is Contour housing. They have a good reputation. I think I will enquire it can't be far to Ald! I may take a walk down there if it is dry tomorrow.

There are at least 4 schemes in that area belonging to Housing associations and the two more with my housing association.

Hester I remember hitting the bank with a hire boat trying to turn into the Ashby, and then picking up a plastic bag around the prop in the narrowest, shallowest part of the cut. happy days!
