Mar I always think you catch more flies with honey than vinegar as the saying goes . Fuds just needs to be her usual self strong and sure . No need to change her ways . With support already for her at the lottie she will have the moral high ground and the sneaky one will have to suck it up or leave in search of somewhere else to try to rule .

Just keep counting the days Hester . You need to plan an unforgettable exit which will become school folklore in times to come . Just a suggestion don't blame me !

Thank you for risking life and limb re all the kit . Oh that's a thought . For one day only " Hester as the office has never seen her before " You can time how long it takes for the police to arrive and CHS can give you the nod and you can jump in the car and away .

Fuddle - let me get this straight in my head....your chicken coop invaded a small patch of airspace on his side of the fence? What the effin hell was he wanting to grow in that few inches of airspace, magic beans????

I'm with mardatha on this one, I would get a chicken coop back on that plot pronto just to annoy him. And I would have strong, well-defined fencing, and if a single weed came over my side from his plot then woe betide him!

It sounds not all the allotmenteers are Neanderthals, so I would graciously accept any offers of help and support - it would be one in the eye for Miseryguts.

Now come on, all you Fencers, let's help Fuddle plan her allotment...we can't allow a hardcore Durham lass be beaten by a complete idiot! For starters I think she should grow a fine crop of stinging nettles along the boundary with his plot (could always pass it off as a food crop, nettles are very nutritious you know!)

Hester, don't worry, the time will pass quicker than you think. You will be so demob-happy that nothing will matter much.

What is all this trend of adults behaving worse than children?

If I had ever had a class of children where someone had decreed that another child should be ignored and all the others meekly followed instructions, there would have been such a scene that the Spanish Inquisition would have paled into insignificance beside it. No child in that class would EVER have behaved in such an ignorant and insensitive way again.

Sometimes I despair of the human race.

Thank you all for your support. I went over to the plot at about 11am. I didn't want to but I thought it would be better for me to go over and put it to rest.

Re: the run. A moveable one wouldn't work because of the fox issue. I had 13.5 square metres for 3 chickens. The fencing was sunken a foot down and packed with hardcore so stop foxes digging under and the chickens digging out. I won't be getting chickens now. It's done.

I saw the warden while over there. Apparently many of the men folk are actually supporting me.and think the situation is ridiculous. The warden offered to help me put the run fencing back up. So it seems that I was too quick to judge. He's agreed that I can use the fencing for a boundary fence so there's no need for DH to take it back on the low loader and stops my neighbour from being upset at any produce encroaching.

The next meeting I will so turn up with biscuits, brilliant idea, and whoever mentioned adorning with fabric I think some bunting is needed huh? When I see my neighbour my plan is to say 'morning' or whatever and put my head down. I'm embarrassed that I cried and actually it was the worst reaction for me to.do in front of men. I'm not a cryer and don't want anyone thinking I would do so to get my own way hence why the run is down.

Again, thanks so much. I love my folk but sometimes I could give them a shake. I mean I don't live my life that far away from their expectations the silly auld s*ds! :D

Polly she's alright ;) more than alright! Positively loving life infact. Don't be worrying x

The bunting is a very good idea. My DD had the same welcome when she took over her allotment so now the shed has bunting, the plot number is painted with glitter paint and she has benches and paths. Looks brilliant. The old men are changing their minds about her now they have seen the hard work she puts in and the produce that has grown as a result including the row of sweet peas and sunflowers.Go girl.

Monna I've been pondering the put your sibling in the corner thing when children played school . Lightbulb moment earlier . You must remember all those pictures in books of the child in the corner facing the wall with the D for dunce cap on . We shouldn't have given them books , in fact Swallows and Amazons recreated in the late 70s into the 80s still sends shivers down my spine it wasn't pretty and a&e were involved twice .
I must have missed one of your posts at some point . It seems Millie is in your charge at the moment , is that temporary or for good?
At least she'll get you out and rob you of the planned for peace although she seems to be calmer now . So how many of those daily runs have you not done so far?

HupH eeeh that's rude! It can stay :D I cannat believe the behaviour of older folk. I have to say I've been a bit mollycoddled. I had some not-very-nice experiences with attitudes when I was caring but honestly my 12 and 8 year old are better behaved than your work colleagues.

Only I could cause drama in fresh air nargle! Oh I'm going to show them alright. It'll take me some time but I will get myself known and liked because I am just a quietly determined respectful girly. I'm planning my plot now :D Now wondering how glitter paint will go down. ;)
