NM Knutsford has a station, but I have no idea which line it's on, probably Wilmslow or Macclesfield. It's a pretty little town, a little pretentious with its very expensive cars & houses and footballers wives, but there are a few nice shops to nosey in
Pollyanna no I never got to the Lavender Barn - I've been away from the leafy Cheshire suburbs & living on the Lancashire coast for 11 years now and my main reason for going to places (my mum) died the year before I moved up here2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

NM Sadly I can only blame myself . When it comes to putting things in one I'm the guilty party . It's sounding positive for your son so I send him good wishes . I wandered into the garden ( in a big thick cardie ) and the season is turning rapidly . The perennials that normally flower Sept and Oct time have flowered weeks ago and all the signs are Autumnal .Hope the heating will be sorted soon for you .
Meanwhile am I the only person who has clocked the absence of a certain dear to my heart until she went over to the dark side poster?
The clues are there if you've watched the required number of Miss Marple episodes .
She isn't here .
Mar is back baking and going for her readers ticket .
The usual level of insanity here is at the usual regular rate .
No creatures great or small are being offered to tempt poor Mar.
She's either off on a trip with Nell .
Been arrested by Animal Welfare or Poor HWKs is fighting hard to defrag his beloveds operating system and remove the malware which sent her feral .
Any thoughts? Just askin':D

Thank you all for your support. I went over to the plot at about 11am. I didn't want to but I thought it would be better for me to go over and put it to rest.
Re: the run. A moveable one wouldn't work because of the fox issue. I had 13.5 square metres for 3 chickens. The fencing was sunken a foot down and packed with hardcore so stop foxes digging under and the chickens digging out. I won't be getting chickens now. It's done.
I saw the warden while over there. Apparently many of the men folk are actually supporting me.and think the situation is ridiculous. The warden offered to help me put the run fencing back up. So it seems that I was too quick to judge. He's agreed that I can use the fencing for a boundary fence so there's no need for DH to take it back on the low loader and stops my neighbour from being upset at any produce encroaching.
The next meeting I will so turn up with biscuits, brilliant idea, and whoever mentioned adorning with fabric I think some bunting is needed huh? When I see my neighbour my plan is to say 'morning' or whatever and put my head down. I'm embarrassed that I cried and actually it was the worst reaction for me to.do in front of men. I'm not a cryer and don't want anyone thinking I would do so to get my own way hence why the run is down.
Again, thanks so much. I love my folk but sometimes I could give them a shake. I mean I don't live my life that far away from their expectations the silly auld s*ds!
Polly she's alrightmore than alright! Positively loving life infact. Don't be worrying x

Fuds Thank you pm replies are dodgy but wow .
You are doing the right thing . In my experience site managers are generally decent and fair minded . It is only when you encounter a site of tight knit - insert your own adjective here that things can be difficult . Don't regret the tears you were handed a situation set up by a miserable sneak and as a decent human being reacted accordingly . You showed dignity and restraint ( good job you didn't have the rolling pin to hand ) Bake your biscuits , smile and engage with the plotters . He's probably already an irritation there and you will be the one who slayed the dragon .
I hate to say this but while I have no knowledge of down south other than holidays there is an entrenched attitude in parts of the north regarding women . I've had many a lively discussion with those types and they can never explain why women are inferior it seems to be centuries of it being that way and is inborn .
Your up near the old pit villagers so will have seen that . I have met both working and then former miners over the years . Some have moved into the reality that women are equal and a lot of that from the way the women stood alongside their men in Maggies days .
It still happens in these hard working times , a lot was and still is centered around the working mens clubs which even now still in some cases can't begin to understand that women aren't an alien species .
When I watched "Educating Rita " That scene where the woman who wanted different sat while noise and the outdated culture swirled around her reminded me of all the times I felt that .

NM Train from Bolton to Knutsford Station . Journey from 3-3+ hours .30 min on foot to Tatton but I reckon we'll need longer than that
He doesn't work on the local trains more Scotland and Wembley but does live in Cheshire .
I reckon if the day should dawn when FPK and the rest of us have that picnic we'll go old style and hire a charra - remember them? Gawd help the driver !!!
We'll need more than one driver Softstuff down under those on the IOW and all the rest . The insurance re the drivers will be costly if they are male as we have to factor in all the missing men who entered Mars home and were never seen again .
BTW Unless the menu is more of a FPK style I'll bring me own

Fuddle that is so horrible, I really feel for you. I can't understand the mentality of some people, why some people have to be so petty is beyond me. I firmly believe in 'live and let live'.
As whoever reported you didn't have the decency to come and talk to you about it, it just shows what a coward they are.0 -
Holly that's why I would go ahead with the chickens, and I would take biscuits down there and not give that auld sod one. Everybody else but not Grumpyknickers. And the same with the eggs when they come!0

Sexism is rife in the south too, the marina manager is retiring soon, the female assistant manager wasn't even told about it or interviewed for the job as 'it's no job for a woman'!
And on the subject of bullying, hopefully this will give you all a laugh.
CHS & I went to the wedding reception of a colleague yesterday, we were invited along with my' team members' from work. There were many other people there from work too.
My 'team members' travelled to the reception by minibus so arrived en masse, they all walked straight passed CHS & I when they arrived, even one I am fairly friendly with only gave a small hurried smile and scurried passed us.
After a couple of hours my 'team leader' came over to speak to us, claiming not to have noticed me when she arrived, even though she was less then 6 inches away.
This was obviously the magic signal as then the rest of the team came over in dribs and drabs to speak to me, the last one to speak was 3 sheets to the wind and blurted out 'I'm sorry I didn't say hello when we arrived, we were told not to'.
