Well done Fuddle. It's very consoling when you find everything going in the right direction. And gratifying when you find that all your efforts have made a real difference.
Glad the RV is a bit better Mar. Men are so pathetic when they are unwell, aren't they. Apologies to any of our male followers, but you know it's true, don't you?
Everyone seems to be recovering today. Good news on the ankle Hester, glad that the Anglican is doing his stuff.
Me? I had my hair cut. Doesn't compare with flu, ankles and blood counts, but it made me feel better, a bit damp, but better. I walked up to the village in the pouring rain and back again in a monsoon.
Thank you for the tip about the frozen bananas VJsmum. there are two cut up and in the freezer already. That will be my Easter treat.
It's jolly chilly this evening. I refuse to put the heating up so it will be an early night with the hotwater bottles. If I'm honest, I only need an excuse.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Thanks for all the welcome messages.
Monna your tablet would cope better if I had but my tag name in English. Mehefin is the Welsh word for June, also the name of one of my mares.0 -
Well I knew it was Welsh. Sorry I knew I something else to say welcome mehefin I lived on Anglesey for a while and you don't get far without learning some Welsh. Some people will never speak English and some will never speak Welsh so you need both to follow some conversations.
Been back in England 30 years so I have forgotten most of it.0 -
mehefin, you obviously haven't met my tablet. Even if I tried to type June it would insist that it should be Julep or Jigsaw or Junior. We are constantly at war.
The thing that fascinates me about the Welsh language is how many words are so close to the French equivalent and to Medieval English. If I had my time over again I would like to do more study about the derivation and growth of language. Completely useless of course.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Such sad news gran3. Every parent's worst nightmare.
NM joining the ranks of everyone who has everything crossed for you and your son. I really hope this is the solution you have been waiting for.
A spendy week in the panda household. Most of it was planned, but I did get mugged by a cute rabbit tray on the way out of Laura Ashley. Done pretty well for spends this month - I think, so I reckon I deserved a treat.
Thank you Polly for the words of encouragement re thug plant. It's actually already sprouting better. If only the same could be said for the rhododendron found looking very sad under the pyracantha. I guess it has two chances. Garden looks miles bigger now, although it wouldn't take much.
Hugs to all in need.

A quiet day planned today. Easter weekend has always been special to me and I prefer to spend Good Friday quietly at home . Lots of reading, music and contemplation.
Normal life resumed tomorrow.
THOUGHT FOR GOOD FRIDAY.
He was a gambler too, my Christ,
He took His life and threw it for a world redeemed,
And ere the western sun went down

DS went to the agents yesterday. He paid fees and they have taken the flat off the market. his fees are for a company to do credit searches and police checks. As long as he passes them he should get the flat.
I have competition from 14 other people. I have been told when we were looking at this flat that the majority of the people who bid for a property don't understand the system so they bid for things they do not qualify for. All I can do is hope they are all like this. They were on this property.
DS told me last night the whole building is sheltered housing that I put the bid on. He gave me the name. It's on the list of sheltered housing. Like a lot of places Bolton has more sheltered housing than it needs. I don't want to go out to a suburb I have never been to. I like the idea of being in town.0 -
Horrible for you having to wait to find out, nm. Sounds as if your son should be ok though, so that's one good thing0

Positive news Fuddle! Slowly and surely does it.
Please stop all this ice-cream talk! I love it but prefer the 'hard' Italian style rather than soft (ice cream Hester!) but I've never tried to make it. Maybe I need to put it n my list of things to do
Nursemaggie - I've got everything crossed, I'm thinking and sending positive thoughts to you an DS - I'll be on tenterhooks until you both get confirmations.
DS1 has gone to visit some friends in Portugal for Easter. One of his friends and I are on !!!!!cat feeding duty. Had a message from his friend that the electricity had gone so DH and I did a quick trip to sort it - phew! I don't have room to accommodate his freezer contents!
The 'offending' word is p u s s y!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0
