Mardatha I made some low carb bickies using grounds almonds and cocoa powder. They were yummy.

Met friends for a pub lunch today. Had a lovely time, lots of laughs and great food. It was about 20 miles away and it took a while to get there because the main road was closed and there were no diversion signs! Luckily my friend had her iphone with satnav app so we did find our way :)

Poor DH was working and only got in at 6.30. I did a nice tea for him and I just had a small cheese salad.

Right off to order a replacement kettle as mine is kaput :(
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.

Kids full up with home made pizza
I even have had a seeded (ys) bread bun and cheese , don't think I have ate since finding out , lost over a stone .. hey ho , sure it will go back on
Planning on a few things over the weekend with kids , will see how we go , don't expect miracles with dd , but small steps
Love the fact the most of us are a bit outside the box on here :D
Heavy duty staples :rotfl: love it
Somehow I think my dear x dh to be doesn't know what he's in for ... think his ideas of how it going to be may be way far from the truth and reality ....so sad

thank you to all of you , I can't tell you how much I appreciate it ,
I know this is just the start , but ..... xxxxxxxxxx

Burtha slow and steady my lovely - they say after a breakup a woman goes from crushed to powerful and the reverse for a man - a year after my ex left my 3 kids and I, he begged to come back, unfortunately the damage was done and I had seen things could be better without him, just my story - I wish you the strength and love you need to move on, you sound so much more positive xx Hugs to you and your kids x

Burtha you are not wrong when you say our ex oh doesn't have a clue. The repercussions will be far and wide not least with you and your children. He appears to think he can walk away untarnished and take whatever he wants... but life's a b!tch for not letting one have it all their own way.

Personally I hope he gets it back in spades and I'm not ashamed to say it. My drawing pins are loaded and ready for launch.

I'm so glad you have managed some food and kept tear free for the day. It is just the beginning of a whole range of emotions you will go through but looking after your own health will give you a bit more strength to deal with whatever 'it' throws at you.

Take really good care, it's not going to be easy but slowly and step by step things will hopefully look slightly brighter as the days, weeks and months pass.

    Thinking of you xxx

Burtha well done on getting through today without a tear. Do not let him run your family's life anymore, you are now in charge of it. He lost that privilege when he walked out of the door. As you say baby steps and the most important thing now is to feed and care for your little family, including yourself. Many hugs.
On the subject of projectile missiles, at school I used to throw the javelin for my house on sports day. I dare say I'm a bit rusty but they say you never forget how to ride a bike, so I'm willing and able to steer a few towards Burtha's ex DH. Just say the word and I'll be there.

    Morning all,

Homemade pizza? Burtha, you're a star. Really. And I'm glad you've managed to get some food into yourself as well. It may not feel like it when you're eating but you really will feel better if you keep yourself fed.

Nannywidow, not being sport minded and growing up in the States the only time I'd ever heard of a Javelin was in the book Matilda. I asked what it was (along with the discus and shot put and was very shocked. I imagined British sports days must be rather uncivilized. Certainly a world away from our relay, three-legged and sack races. Who knows what I would have though of the egg and spoon if someone had thought to tell me about that ;)

OH and I are off to see a castle today with a picnic. I've got it all made, just need to find out if I should put it in a rucksack with the rug or the basket. You lot with your potato bags thing you're posh, we've got the crusts cut off the sandwiches today! Cucumber and goats cheese and hummus and red pepper. I'd love to make a full old fashioned Edwardian picnic one day with cold joints and pickles and jams and cakes and take it out somewhere picturesque. I'd need an army of friends to eat it pretty much all of whom would think I'd lost the plot. What they don't know is that I haven't lost it, I've stolen it and am re-writing it.

Great stuff burtha. Embrace the weight loss! You see? There's always a silver lining. You will probably find difficulty in eating for a bit, along with difficulty in sleeping and, at times, with breathing, but that will all pass in time.
I hadn't heard what Islandmaid said about women going from crushed to powerful and men going in reverse, but thinking about it she is absolutely spot on. That is exactly what happens.
I don't know how long this affair has been going on but your soon-to-be-ex DH will eventually find out that the excitement soon wears off a new shiny toy, but by then it will be too late, you will be a happy, independent lady in your own right with no room in your life for faithless losers.

Have as good a weekend as you can manage.

Here the weather looks better this morning. However, millie-dog decided that 5.10am was an appropriate time for me to be up and about. She all but pulled me out of bed. I thought she wanted to go out, but no, she just wanted me out of bed so that she could take it over.
I feel like going back to sleep now.
