Dear Hannah, I remember when the first programme went out all I wanted to do was to wrap her up and give her an easier life. I'm so glad that the second half of her life was much easier than the first half.

Here at "wefeedeveryone.com" this particular caterer is looking forwards to a bit of a rest. We were four people down on our team yesterday, but fortunately only two of them were from the kitchen squad. The 3 of us left managed so well that instead of the usual last minute panic and chaos we were all set to serve up 10 minutes ahead of time. We also had everything finished up and packed away a good half an hour earlier than usual. Strange.

Did I say that I was gong to have a rest? Yes I thought that was what my fingers were typing.
A rest is certainly on the cards once I have made the cakes and biscuits for another friend's coffee morning on Saturday. I think it's time for a change of friends.

I may sound as though I am complaining, but I just like presenting myself as a martyr.

I am actually loving it and relish the thought that I am still useful and have some contribution to make.

I am on yet another train - this time to London to meet my supervisor. I must be progressing as I used to dread it and now I look forward to it. One of them (you get two for a PhD Usually) has had to give up on me (It's not me, it's her - honest, she has been ill) but i am getting two new ones in her place, cos I am greedy like that. It's a lovely day for a brief walk through Regent's park..

We have friends coming for dinner on Saturday - amidst all the decorating chaos, but they have been forewarned. i was going to do a vegetarian extravaganza but had a word with myself that now wasn't the time.. So i am going for a lasagne instead - with antipasti to start and a choice of two puds...

I'm tired as I had a dreadful night last night I was reading for 5 of the 7 hours I spent in bed.
I'm too cold to sleep and too tired to get warm. I shall try a shower to see f that warms me up.

Dd got a phone call demanding she attend the local police station as her son had been arrested.
Panic stricken phone call to me, she had no money could we lend her some if she needed to bail him out.
She arrives at the police station gets a telling off for her son's obnoxious attitude.
She is taken to the room he is being held in, walks in. ' That's not my son, my son is white, that boy is called xXxX, I have his mum's phone number in my phone'.
One very relieved dd phoned me to reassure us that our grandson had not been arrested and was in fact at a friend's house!

Hester why can you not sleep? Is the boat too cold? There's things you can do to fix that. Pay for a really good feather duvet, they are warmer and lighter than synthetic ones. Get a fitted fleece mattress cover and sleep on that instead of a sheet. Use an electric blanket and leave it on all night at 1. Buy a really good pure wool housecoat and sheepskin-lined slippers. Can you tell I've lived in some really cold places

Thank you for the invite Ivyleaf. I will sit quietly in the corner and observe like I normally do. (I am quite happy to do any odd jobs to pay for my keep tho!)

HupH what a pickle. I'm actually horrified. The stress of that would have me horizontal!

I have to tell you I've been a naughty girl today. I've been playing psychological warfare with school admissions. Well, I doubt it's warfare when only I play but I feel like I got the upper hand. I have been bugging them trying to get them to explain every little detail on the application. I was trying to portray that I really wasn't very intelligent and I disclosed that my argument is simply about finding a way to word how I can't be bothered to walk far when there's a school over the road. My theory is if they think I'm thick as too short planks they will rest on their laurels doing the bare minimum in argument against.

Ack, I know it's futile especially if the appeals department is in cahoots with admissions :rotfl:

Paperwork all done and evidence all submitted. It's just the meeting now. :eek:
