Understand Hester yes, I used to go that way after the last of my night shifts, nothing on earth would get heat into me. Been a murderously cold day up here, that wind is straight from the North Pole I think. Been hard frost all day and very slippy. Poor wee birds must be having a horrible time, I've been feeding about a hundred of them all day.

Fuddle, you are obviously having endless fun with the school authorities. It's delicious, isn't it, watching people underestimate you.

I do feel for all you chilly mortals. I am warmest and happiest in bed. I have an old duvet under the bottom sheet so I am the middle of a duvet sandwich. I read somewhere that you should have as much under you in bed as you have over you, and it's true. Add to that a fleecy covered hwb tucked in the small of my back and another one at my feet and I'm as warm as toast, even though I can't bear sleeping with any sort of night clothes on. Now try to expunge the mental image that that inspires.

I didn't get very far with my baking fest yesterday. I had lots of phone calls and an unexpected visitor so it's all systems go today. But first breakfast and a nice hot shower to get me going.

    Hi all,

    Hugs to all x

HH - Hope the Police apologised to your DD for the dressing down before even checking it was the right person...

Burtha - living with you must be like watching the Grand Prix, every few minutes you go whizzing by x Take care of yourself

Karcher - glad your feeling a bit better, keep rested when you can x

Fuddle - have fun, and I hope it all works out for you - when I moved back to the Island
With 3 kids under 7, the council told me I would have to get each child to a different school all starting at the same time - I politely asked how was a single working parent supposed to perform this minor miracle - an hour before our meeting was due to start, I had a call to say 2 more spaces had ‘popped” up at our nearest primary.... amazing

Nothing to report here, work is still a PITA, but it pays well and and I do have a great WLB.

I made a load of Pheasant Sausage rolls yesterday for my half starved menfolk from the huge amount of Pheasant that arrives at our door (not complaining) seasons virtually over, so making the most of it...

MONNA - inspired by your cooking for the masses, I am making brownies today, pinny at the ready... hope you have a calmer day today x

Sorry if I have missed anyone x

Monna - the batch cooking is spreading! Big pot of Spag Bol to do today and some shin of beef to go in the slow cooker with the bendy veg and odds & sods. If I feel inclined I've got a tin of pre-prepared thick cut oranges to do for DH's marmalade. Monna do you add your Cointreau at the end and how much? I thought I'd add some whisky to it and some dark brown sugar for a change.
Our trip to the Arts Centre last night was fab - Harriet has a beautiful warm voice and her songwriting is excellent.
Karcher - keep resting as much as you can - it will take quite a while to get the nasty virus out of your system so don't be too impatient X
Burtha - hope you are OK and not running yourself ragged in all senses.
    Mar - stay warm
NM - your Bargains sound great - about time you treated yourself.
Hugs to all who are in need x

Silva, I add the Cointreau at the end. Don't want any of the alcohol cooked out! As to amounts....mmmmm......a good slurp? Really, just see what it will take. I really can't define things like that. Possibly about a tablespoonful in each pot. More or less depending on how runny the marmalade is.

    I don't think I'll try writing a cookery book.

You sure can, but I just googled Clementine Marmalade and got it off the net. If you can't find one you like I'll dig mine out. I did the one where you slice the whole fruit finely. I couldn't be doing with shredding the peel, squeezing the juice and all that jazz.
I'm just having a coffee break betwee biscuit making.

That's why I buy ready prepared oranges Monna ;) I'll googly it-thanks. Once made Kumquat marmalade - I do love them and was given 2 punnets from an overseas relative - unfortunately they didn't travel too well and were a bit squashed and battered. They were great to do as they only have a couple of seeds and thin skins and the best marmalade I've ever done!
DH very happy - came home to the smell of cooking so he's anticipating something tasty lol

We are home! Blimey it seems cold in my house, my fingers are freezing. And as for the loo seat!?

The flight home was smooth but I didn't get a main meal because the cabin crew made a mistake. When I queried it they bought me some fruit, which was nice.
We got home to find our landline is down. Took me ages to find a way to contact my provider, then they said no fault on the line so will send an engineer, on Tuesday!, and charge me if fault is with my equipment. Oh, and they can divert my landline calls to my mobile but I would be charged at mobile rate. i made it clear what i think of that

I have a limited mobile package so not many calls will be made this weekend!

In better news, it's been sunny all day and my friend left me a lovely bunch of Spring flowers to soften the blow of returning home :)

    NM, the jumpers sound fab!
    Karcher, hope you keep improving.
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.
