FBO Stay strong and take time out for a few minutes if you need some head space - I hide in the loo if things get too ‘peopley’ for me just to get my head together x

Karcher please don’t go back to work till your well, it’s one of those situations where you can’t to right for wrong - if you stay off you feel guilty,if you go back and relapse, you would just be seen as having 2 periods of sickness - you can’t win x

karcher you should not be going back to work until you have had a few good meals inside you and are able to go out shopping. You must have wobbly legs.

When people have been as ill as you have, if they go back to work before they are recovered they end up with another 2 months off. My boss did that once and he was off so long we were all really worried. It's called post viral syndrome and it is just as bad as the flu. It can keep recurring for years if you don't look after yourself. You need another week.

Sorry we are all being bossy mums but most of us have experienced flu and we know. I read a survey result last night 64% of the British workforce go to work when they are ill. It says a lot about their bosses.

burtha[/B there's nothing we would be able to say on here without being reported, about 3mw. I hope this wakes him up. I can only follow monna from a few days ago "be sure your sins will find you out."

The last phrase is meant for 3mw not burtha

Karcher - they were talking on the radio earlier this week about people not convalescing any more. They just think whatever they had has gone and go back to work when they really need a week or two for their bodies to heal properly ( those of us of a certain age will remember convalescent homes - long gone and sadly missed) You need to stay at home at least until next week - possibly longer. I'm only just beginning to feel human again after a bout of flu just before Christmas - so take heed and do as you're told!! Lol
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

Burtha what a prize plank 3mw turned out to be at the parents evening. I hope he showed himself up good and proper .
FBO you'll probably have left already but I just wanted to say that you have my support.
Karcher I'm going to be another bossy boots :D. Do not return to work till you're better because you may have a relapse and put yourself back to square one. I want you fighting fit and I am sending lots of love and healing vibes your way.
There was a customer service lady working in Mat*lan this morning who appologised to a shopper because she had lost her voice, as she had the flu . I gave her a wide berth and just left the shop.
Hugs to anyone who wants/ needs one.
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently

Is that what you meant to say?? Either way, it is rather appropriate. :rotfl:

Wow, some of you have had some right corkers for OHs!

I hope 3MW went home with his tail between his legs burtha.

Don't go back to work yet karcher, you need at least the weekend to see if you really are better, after that try to do some jobs about the house, then see how tired you are.

Stay strong FBO, you can do it.

..... he got his just deserts!

    :o:o

I think you are all very kind not pointing out the glaring error in my earlier post :o...but hey dry barren areas with extreme temperatures are just as good 'just desserts' as a rhubarb crumble and custard;)

Worry not, yes I have lost the plot :o and I have also taken on board all your advice re not returning to work too soon. I do understand and witnessed my own Mother, many years ago, struggle for months with a post viral infection after being ill and returning to full time work too soon.

The sad thing is, society does not allow us to be ill any more. I, as I'm sure many others are, are so fearful of taking time off sick because we have the threat of a disciplinary or warning if we are deemed to have too many instances of sick leave! So many struggle to work, spread their germs or return too soon. It can not be good for productivity, morale or anyone's health in the long run.

I do understand the need to crack down on those who abuse sick leave but it punishes those who are truly sick. There are no awards for those dragging themselves to work feeling like death warmed up..all they are doing (like me) is trying to keep a secure job, a roof over my head and the ability to pay bills.

I do think it is a sad reflection on society today, but it is what it is...and by that mini essay you all must be [STRIKE]bored[/STRIKE] reassured, that I am on the mend ;)

A way to go yet, but thank you all :), you have no idea how much your support and care has meant to me during the past 8/9 days..I have not felt totally alone and that means the world to me :o :A xxx

FBO I'll be thinking of you and sending you as much strength as I can muster. Take care xx
