Glad things went well for you Ivy, when I was young my parents had a house in Alverstoke, Stokes Bay was our beach, we spent most of the school holidays down there. My brother had a sailing boat there too.

    Unbelievable burtha!

The snow is melting, there was me thinking we may get a day off school!

Burtha I'm not at my best but I would glady sneeze and cough my germs all over 3mw to give him a dose of this flu and hope he suffers with it as you are with what he has done to you and the kids xx

Wretched dog had me up at 5.00am as usual. She must have an internal alarm clock. She starts off by doing her morning exercises on my bedroom floor, followed by the vigorous shaking of the head causing the ears to clap like castinets. If that doesn't work she licks my face, but I can usually forestall that bit. In a little while I'll have my breakfast in bed and maybe stay here for an hour or two.

Still dark and wet but forecast to clear up later on. I want to have a good sort out of what I have here. The problem of living in a largeish house on your own with most of your possessions stored somewhere else and the house still containing lots of the previous occupant's stuff that THEY don't have room for.
I also want to push on with the book I am editing. Perhaps a bit of each.

Hoping that all the poorlies feel marginally better today.

ETA Obviously you don't feel any better karcher. More of the same treatment today, warmth, rest and fluids. Eventually it must work.

    THOUGHT FOR TODAY

I am rather like a mosquito in a nudist camp. I know what I want to do, but I don't know where to begin. (Stephen Bayne)

MMF...I'd love to report a significant improvement but I can't.

My high temperature has reduced slightly though so I am able to function a bit more. I have just had a shower and put clean pj's on (again).

I managed to change my sheets as they were soaked yet again last night and I ended up on the sofa as I couldn't find a 'dry' patch!! Sorry but I just wanted to cry when I awoke in the early hours, soaked in sweat again, chilled and sorry for myself :(:o

Fingers crossed I sleep tonight and don't soak the sheets as much (sorry if tmi) and I'm no longer being sick so I am keeping down fluids and paracetamol at least.

I must be slightly better as I had ventured here to have a look...I'm thinking positive and hoping things will improve soon.

What I have learnt is I need more bedding..2 sets isn't enough when ill :(

karcher, a shower will make you feel a bit more human, keeping fluids and paracetamol down will help to bring your temperature down. Tiny steps but in the right direction. Can't do much about the bedding situation, but you've got a point there. Something to think of in the future.
I do hope you manage a bit of sleep tonight. That will help as well. Just don't try to do anything, you will be as weak as a kitten for sometime yet.

    Hi all
Monna your thought for today made me giggle, but I can't get the image I conjured up out of my head now .
Burtha 3mw is an absolute idiot and that's putting it mildly. He will get caught out with his take on things sooner or later. In the meantime just look after yourself and your family.
Karcher glad to hear you're feeling a little better. I'm sending more healing vibes your way.
Wondercollie I don't think I could cope with your cold weather. -30 brrrrrr !
I hope everyone is ok. I do try to read along everyday, even if I don't post.
Hugs to anyone who would like/need one.

  • Hugs Karcher, hope you are turning the corner from the lurgy. Have you tried this?https://www.nhs.uk/chq/Pages/857.aspx?CategoryID=73
It might at least help you sleep.

Burtha - 3mw has made words fail me. He needs to tread carefully, karma has a habit of biting people in the derrière!

Still de cluttering at Chez Panda, found loads more paper shredding to do. Need to find my opportunity to do it around DS1 studying for his Masters and DD2 with severe tonsillitis. I feel bad making a noise :o

Have to admit to being a tiny bit jealous of those with decent snowfalls.
