GPs don't know much about vitamins and what they do know is often 30 - 50 years out of date. I take 2400iu vitD a day Fuds. I need to get back onto multivits, not been taking them for a while as they are so big I choke.
Have you tried a Pill Splitter Mar ? Mine is from B**ts and does the job on my vitamin tablets which look like horse tablets . Most chemists would sell them .

It seems formal complaints have been made about my replacement at work, not the person herself, but about the stupidity of having her work 10 - 2 when I used to work 7:30 - 2 and that she was given no training and no handover period.
HUH, I'd feel the same in your shoes!
I have absolutely no sympathy for the employers (they deserve everything they get) but every sympathy for your replacement.
It must be awful for her. Happy to have a new job then royally dumped in the manure!'I'm sinking in the quicksand of my thought

NM no visitor is mad enough to come to this house to eat.
Sheila Chickens I think by the time I got to the dentist I was very ill with the Addisons and the dental problem was the last straw.
Csarina no, kelp can make your heart go faster - with a pacemaker it def wouldn't be safe.
Told today that I need a yearly infusion of Aclasta, zoledronic acid, because I've got osteoporosis. BAH lol0 -
Mardatha, zoledronic acid is one of the bisphosphonates. If I were not worried about the potential side effects for eyesight, which seem to come with all the bisphosphonates, I would have opted for a once a year infusion over taking alendronic acid tablets once a week (Alendronic acid gives a lot of people bad heartburn whereas the infusion bypasses the digestive system). So if you have to have it, it's good that they seem to be opting for an infusion rather than the tabletsIt doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!0

Hi IVYLEAF we had such a lovely time thank you, Berlin is magical with the Weinachts Markts , the look, sound, smell and sheer joy of them is something completely unique. We go to one that has a big wheel that is large Gingerbread Houses, you look down on an open air ice rink with tiny people skating behind penguins as support to stay upright and everyone between that and competent ice dancers are having fun. The food in the markets is delicious and we've some favourite shops we visit too particularly Galleria Kaufhoff in Alexanderplatz where I got another down coat, a jacket with a hood this time for half price in the sale. Love the place so very much but am now looking forward to Christmas here and all that brings. Hope all is well with your SIL and all of you, and that 2018 brings levelness in your lives again xxx.0

Good morning, and I hope I find you all shopped, wrapped, cleaned, posted, decorated , cooked, glittered and ready to go. :rotfl:
Tablet knocked the g off glittered, well probably that too.
Today I am aiming at making Clementine Marmalade, if the village shop has any clementines, the ones I thought that I had bought at the weekend have turned out to be 'easy peelers'. Not the same thing at all, too much pith. Then a carrot cake and some vegan brownies for my stepGS.
First I have to go to the parish church to watch Pickle being Mary in her school Nativity. Heaven help us! There will never have been a bosssier Mary, I hope those angels mind their Ps and Qs.

Monnagran
Please could I have the recipe for vegan brownies. My elderly mum is vegan and it would make a change from my usual stuff I make for her. I've just finished a vegan Christmas cake for her which I make every year.
Also, (sorry about this) do you know how to make the coconut tarts (coconut goo on top of jam tarts) vegan. When I've tried in the past everyone likes them, everyone eats them, but they do have a strange looking collapsing coconut topping. Taste good but look weird.
Thanks. Don't worry if you are too busy, I'll nag after Christmas.0 -
Morning Monna, I love your thought for the day.
Gift wrapping and punting today.
Our engine is out and we may have found a buyer for it and the gearbox.
The new one is being fitted on 21st and 22nd of January, mind you that could be canal time, if it is it could be February or even July!
We're having a beta marine fitted, there have been many visits from important bods, much sucking of teeth and many comments about pythons and hospitals.
Yesterday we finally got a pump out and today we may be being punted back to our usual jetty, this should have happened on Tuesday, this is what I mean by canal time! It doesn't bother me but it makes CHS twitchy.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
HuH - talk about coincidence! Had my engine replaced earlier this year with a Beta ( very pleased with it) and have just sold my old engine!
Monna - I've a mountain of Christmas cards unwritten - managed to get a nasty lurgy from somewhere thats put me flat on my back for a week - on high dosage anti B's which have kicked in but still a bit wobbly. Luckily we're at DS1 on Christmas day and DS2 on boxing Day but I'm still fretting at what's not been done. Debating whether to put a post on Facebook and letting it go!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -
Putting a post on FB and letting it go sounds a great idea silvasava. I remember one year when I was ill and no one got a card. No one minded
Glad you had a happy time in Berlin, LynWhen we went to see my SIL we went to their local one (Christmas market). Not very big, as it's a small market town, but nice things to eat, and we bought some bits and pieces to bring back for the grandchildren. I do think we should start a campaign to have Pflammkuchen on sale as a regular thing
I wasn't sure if it was a bit disrespectful to go to a Christmas market and have fun when we'd just lost my brother, but SIL said not to be silly. he wouldn't have minded at all.
I did feel sad yesterday though, as it was the day when the two of them had been due to arrive here for Christmas. But he's at peace now, and I'm really glad for that.
pollyanna You poor love, i'm so glad you're starting to feel better.
Love to everyone, especially MMF, VJsmum and burtha.
monnagran I'm sure Pickle will enjoy her debut
DS has hurt his ankle so can't do his usual Christmas shopping trek round Bluewater, so he's bought everyone's presents online. You can bet someone will try to deliver something just as I go to the loo....0
