  • I'm still taking the kelp tablets, have been since Mar flagged up their efficacy all those years ago and they're still working very well. Have dropped down from max dose to 2 a day and it's keeping energy levels up nicely. If I stop taking them for a few days because I've run out and haven't been able to get into town for more I really notice the difference and feel like a moribund slug stuck in reverse.

    Post above reported as spam.

Big (((HUGS))) to everyone who needs them today.

I bought a pretty "Thinking of you at Christmas" card for my bereaved sister-in-law, then when i got home and looked at it properly I realised it said "Happy Christmas" inside - hers definitely won't be this year! - and a Bible text, and she's not religious. Sigh. I was seduced by the pretty bunch of flowers on the front.
I suppose she will have to have an e-card instead, as there isn't time to buy another one and send it to Germany to have it arrives in time.

mar have you not yet found out being able to cook is just a state of mind. It never entered my mind that I would not be a good cook so I am.

It helps if you had a professional in the family. I looked like my grandma and had her personality with all of her faults and all of her virtues. Everyone expected me to be able to cook, I would inherit it.

I know it is a bit late now but pretend you will enjoy it. Use a recipe, read through it beforehand, get everything you need ready beforehand. Follow it line by line and you can't go wrong. Give it your full attention, don't try to do other things. When you bite into your first perfect meal you will love cooking for the rest of your life. Never try a new recipe out on visitors that is fatal.

I hope that does not burst your bubble monna. You are a domestic goddess.

I bought DS some ear plugs. He said I can't use them they will just increase my tinnitus and that will keep me awake. I also think he is waiting for the next bang.

The noise gets worse from about 4 pm and rises to a crescendo until when ever they go to bed. Going to bed consists of about 100 removal men moving all the furniture in the world in and out of their flat. I just don't know how anyone can be so noisy.

With all those young kids their washing machine is going constantly and I here it go through it's cycle every time. I have never heard that before. I used to just hear it spin with the other tenants before them.

We must have got over sensitive to sound. I heard the postmen knocking on the door of the house opposite through the double glazing and quite a distance.

Ivyleaf why not send your sister in Law a bunch of flowers. There are lots of flower shops on the internet. You can just put thinking of you on the card rather than mention Christmas. I am sure she will ignore Christmas and it wont matter if it does not arrive until 27th.
  • Lyn Lurcher ...Yea I remember we all started taking them together and im the same as you , so I never run out of them ............Mardather......Am I right in saying you were doing very well on them then you went to the dentist , had some treatment and they stopped working from that day ?.......

Thank you nursemaggie, flowers are a good idea :)

Welcome back Lyn! Did you enjoy yourselves?

As OH has still not been able to find the Christmas tree decorations, DS bought some baubles and tinsel; OH and I went shopping today for a star or an angel to put on top of the tree, but everywhere seemed to be sold out of both.
So our tree is now topped by a bright pink flamingo with a feather tail. and very pretty it is too :D
  • Chortle chortle snigger snigger, for those who do not read my blog.
It seems formal complaints have been made about my replacement at work, not the person herself, but about the stupidity of having her work 10 - 2 when I used to work 7:30 - 2 and that she was given no training and no handover period.
    Chin up, Titus out.

Csarina talk to your Dr before trying Kelp tablets . You may be ok but you have to get informed advice when you have a pacemaker .

Hi Fencers I have been pretty well flat out in bed for much of the last couple of weeks , on the mend now ( although I'm crossing my fingers as I've said that a few times recently only for the darn virus to reappear ) I need to read back as I'm out of the loop .
Just noticed your post Hester , cheered me up to see Karma has hit on your behalf . The mills of God again !
    polly x

Hester that's one in the eye to the lot of them! I share your Joy.

Love the sound of your Christmas tree ivyleaf. Pity you are so far away you could borrow all mine. I have put so many ornaments and plants on my windowsill I think putting baubles there would be a bit over the top, even for Christmas.
