Oh monnagran, I'm so sorry - but perhaps you wouldn't have been able to find a suitable new home within a reasonable timescale. It will happen. I bet your nice buyer is really upset.

  • Oh bu66er Monna, so sorry to hear that.
My DS passed his test on a Thursday and the very next day drove to Whitby for a Dracula festival, over 250 miles with 3 friends and a tent!
I didn't sleep well that weekend.

Oh Monna I'm so sorry. Is it because her chain has collapsed? Is there a possibility she will be able to come back if she gets another buyer? Fingers crossed for it all to work out
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

Islandmaid, the wind was pretty forceful here too, lots of things scattered about the garden but no damage.

Had unwelcome news 5 minutes ago. My buyer has had to pull out, so it's back to square one. The agent who rang to tell me was nearly in tears herself, in fact she was more upset than I was. Never mind, it wasn't meant to be and at least I'd not seen anything I wanted, so no disappointment there.

Now I have to make a few phone calls and get on with some work.

    Aww no Monna :(

I'm so sorry to hear that xx

It's OK, I'm not going to fall on my sword. It just means that my bungalow is not ready for me yet. Perhaps things will be better after Christmas.
All these things happen for a reason.

In the meantime I have plenty to keep me occupied.

Well, monnagran, at least that is one less pressure on you in the run up to Christmas. And if one person liked your place enough to make an offer, there will be others. Probably in the new year, when people are more inclined to start house hunting.

Monna myself and the cats have clubbed together and can offer you 57p, a lifetime supply of mice and 2 half eaten dreamies for the house if it helps - Cilla Black (chief cat) has offered to give up her favorite blanket, but she wasn’t that convincing ;)

Oh poo monna, what a shame. Really hoping the house sells soon and you find your new home.

Well done to your ds Islandmaid, good luck with the car search, not one of my favourite jobs.

    Oh that's a shame, Monna.

Not too good a day today. Dad has taken a turn for the worst and is back in HDU. Apparently they are going to try 'forced oxygen' cos his sats are so low. Collapsed lung and a shadow. No idea whether blood clot (the first thing hosp said) or infection, inhaled water or worse. Getting jumpy every time the phone rings but thinking of my poor mum, currently by herself and over 70 miles from the hosp (yep, the Scottish Highlands are absolutely beautiful but somewhat remote!).

He's had a terrible cough and been really wheezy for about 2 months. He's had xrays, sputum tests etc and was booked for an MRI scan next week.

DB and I will be driving north first thing tomorrow.
I have changed my work-life balance to a life-work balance.
