Evening All too! Well, my boat was supposed to be lifted out of the water today along with about 45 others - needless to say it was cancelled. I had a vision of my boat swinging round the crane like a fairground ride! Its all supposed to be rescheduled for tomorrow but just looked at the weather report and the wind is still gusting at 33mph so dont think its going to happen.
My tablet has decided to play up - i'm toying with seeing if it can be repaired - its not an expensive one, has given good service and won't break the bank if it has to be replaced. I think I'll talk to the phone man at the market next week & see if he can offer any advice or maybe mend it for me. I can access everything on my phone in the meanwhile.
Still got the cough I brought back from Greece - I can do a really good Steptoe imitation now - I've been practicing ;) Spent last night on the sofa so I didn't disturb DH (wasn't that kind of me?) sitting room fire was glowing nicely, puss kept me company and I had the radio on low - I'm such a martyr lol
The pub sounds just great Monna - glad you are all warm & cosied up now.
Hope everyone is safe and warm tonight x

Hester I forgot to say I was very pleased to learn that you had some extra sleep this morning :T

monnagran I'm glad you are ok, and I hope Islandmaid is as well. Thank you for today's Thought - I think that's a good one for me to bear in mind :)
  • Work have announced that they are interviewing for my job on 2nd November, so now people are glad they pushed their work through early.
It's a little less blowy this morning last night it wasn't noisy but very rocky.

Hope all safe , ..but breeze here :D, my run this morning as short , bit like running in a wind tunnel lol . The challenge this month is to run everyday in October , so far only missed one day through sickness , have felt rotten all week but done it , not far only a mile or 2 , but done . This week thankfully I'm off :j:j:j so will catch up on the miles ...
Now just need to eat , half a stone gone this week , not good ..so need food now . Hence why I'm sitting waiting for teenagers to get ready to go out for lunch lol .... hopefully not long now . Don't care as long as we go :)
Never been this thin ...:( , but onwards and upwards

Other than that just plan to drag the kids around all week otherwise we will do nothing , and that's not going to happen .... teenagers are so much fun :rotfl:

Take care and hugs to all xx

Gosh Hester, I'm sorry that they didn't ask you to write a job description for your replacement. That would be the cue for many prospective interviewees taking to to the hills.

Silvasava. If your self sacrifice involves sleeping by a fire with soft music in the background and a cuddly puss cat by your side I can see this cough lasting a long, long time.

burtha, I never thought to see 'teenagers' and 'fun' in such close proximity.
Please don't punish your poor body. If you must do all the running at least do lots of resting. Losing weight is quite exciting if you have it to lose, but again, watch it. Bodies have a habit of biting back if they are struggling. Mine did and I ended up in hospital, much to my chagrin.

I've had a lovely lazy day today, lots of reading and knitting and not much else. The sort of life I was born to.

Made it through storm Brian - it wasn’t so much of a storm as a very naughty wind :rotfl::rotfl: Egypt point flooded, but it does that every spring tide, so not really News :p

Burtha - you are the engine of your family, make sure you look after yourself x Teens are/were the Bain and joy of my life - Youngest is now 19 the youngest of 3 and I miss their PITA ways :D

Hester - I hope you get a chance to enjoy the retirement you so richly deserve- if you are going to worry about exwork, I am happy to retire on your behalf :j:j

My DH's name is Brian - so he's the cause of all this rotten weather! Glad Monna and Islandmaid are both OK.
Boat lift out went as scheduled yesterday - my boat has a barnacled bottom (bit like me really) so will need a good power wash in the next few days. I've a couple of jobs I want to do on her but nothing major this year - just a pretty up for her ;)
Hester - I find a rocky boat at anchor very soothing - lovely if you're snuggled up.
Raining and a bit miserable here today so will put the airer in the back bedroom as I need to do some washing and I can dry it there out of the way
Monna - sounds like your day was bliss - I'm still shattered!!

I nearly gave up posting this morning as every post disappeared when I clicked on 'submit'. "You are offline." I kept being told. Made me so mad.

Anyway, if this doesn't appear you won't know anything about it anyway.

It has been a drear and dismal day here. I have hunkered down and finished a cushion cover that has taken ages to do. Having finished I now spot a mistake I made in the middle of the front. Too bad. It proves it has been hand knitted.

This week is my lunch club week. My responsibility is Sticky Toffee Pudding for 50/60. One of the easier puds. So that will be my number 1 job tomorrow.

    THOUGHT FOR TODAY.

Be you. The world will adjust.

Did I give my awful cold to everyone a few days ago?

I am at last feeling better. I may even go out tomorrow.
