I've lost count of all the times I have signed up to this thread. No notifications for days again.
I will admit I have had a stinking cold. Been using tissues at the rate of six a minute. Hope no one else catches it.
Glad you made it in one piece mar.
I have been reading for over an hour so I have forgotten most of what I read. Good luck to those who are claiming disability benefits, can't remember what but they have always been difficult. It pays to get an expert to help you claim.
Having been to the Drs this morning and had a look at my notes I saw frail at the end of my Oncologist's report. My scan also said I still have a small amount of cancer but it is not growing.
Considering I am considered frail I guess I had better claim something, There is someone who will help me claim at the council offices.
Nice to see you again Softstuff. I expect you feel right at home with all that rain. Hurry up and get to be boss and then the job wont suck.
MFFOO7 I hope I got that right, not going to look will lose my post. Keep meaning to tell you someone has dug up all the herbs in the garden. I am sure you can take a couple of cutting if you buy some fresh rosemary. It will take much better in the spring.
Enjoy your retirement Hester.0 -

monna If I was allowed I would thank your thought for today 100 times . Since my late teens I have had the same measurements 34/24/36 childbearing hips according to my mum . Dad was tall and slim , DD1 is exactly the same size as me so it must be in the genes . I've had a lifetime of people telling me to put a bit of weight on .
I eat healthy balanced meals and can handle a lamb shank , large roast , stew and dumplings , puddings and custard with the best of them . It just burns off . Oddly enough an old friend was here a few days ago and said I see you still need a bit more weight . I could gorge my way through all the cream cakes in M&S chiller and wouldn't gain an ounce .
It's timely today as I've been weighing up a winter skirt online and my mind has been on the stupidity of UK sizing nowadays . No manufacturers have a standard system anymore . I found the skirt on JL but their sizing is different to the manufacturer . It was the elusive size 6 but on the manufacturers site that is now 26 inch waist rather than 24 . Seems we are meant to wander naked or make our own and I've had too many years of that . Sorry for the long rant but thank you for highlighting the judgemental comments freely given at both ends of the spectrum .

With a figure like that - then I'd be drawing cynical conclusions as to why anyone was trying to tell you to put on weight. That figure is pretty much in the "perfect/correct" range. Imo perfect/correct range is 34-36" bust/24-26 waist/34-36 hips and anyone that is telling you otherwise is in the "misery loves company" camp- and trying to get you to have a figure like theirs imo (rather than a better figure than theirs).
(Still working on getting my normal figure back of 36/26/36 - its taking a while:( and I'm studiously not listening to/am taking a very good look at anyone that tells me current figure is fine as it is and duly drawn cynical conclusion about why they are saying that:cool:).0 -
So it's 2:30 and I've been awake for about an hour!
I have one last job to do at work, I've been waiting for 14mm comb binders for over a week, they turned up as I was leaving yesterday and they are the wrong size!!
The booklets are needed before i leave today!
I have been trying to pass on some handover information all week but line manager said ' everything's in hand, don't worry'.
So today I will bind one booklet just to prove it won't work and then just before I walk out the door I'll dump the whole lot on her desk so she can worry about it.
I have joined U3A and I'm planning on joining the quilting group and the circle dancing, Goodell them as I have two left feet!Chin up, Titus out.0 -
