No it isn’t disrespectful to bin them ,
and if you don’t recognise people in a photo ,then your sons certainly won’t so bin those too .
they will not thank you if in (I hope ) many years time they are looking at them
my son told me “Don’t worry Mum .I’ll just get a skip” !7 -
I agree with Sue MN. You have a lot to do and I wouldn't be getting bogged down deliberating about pics of people long gone.I used to drive the children to Blackpool once a year usually for the lights but a few times in the summer. It was quite a long journey. Could have walked it if the sea wasn't in the way but was a long journey by road. it used to be a nightmare trying to cross the road when we got there. We would always go in Harry Ramsdens for the very good fish and chips but when we last stopped off in Blackpool when I was going to Fleetwood to collect some paint Harrys wasn't there. No idea if that was temporary or not as I haven't been back since.Sadly Blackpool suffered badly from the cuts and parts of it went downhill. A few years ago two friends of mine bought a run down hotel next to Funny Girls. They are both very artistic and did a lovely renovation mostly without outside help. They were back here within a couple of years having failed to attract decent guests due to how run down the area had become. It's quite sad when you think of how popular Blackpool was through the years.pollyIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

MN, I can speak with some authority here, still being in the process of clearing up David's hoarders paradise. It was obviously his Darling with the hoarding gene because he is only to happy to bin anything that is not in current use.
Not having any family to pass things on to, he realises that the things that are precious to him because of their history will be meaningless to anyone else. The memories will die with him.
I just look at stuff and know exactly what my family will do with it..
Swedish death cleaning has a lot to recommend it.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Polly Funny Girls is in a particular area of town which attracts LGBTQ+ visitors.
And Harry Ramsdens is now in what used to be the Tower Lounge.
Blackpool suffered massively from local government funding cuts, and has huge health inadequacies. I've been away for nearly 3 years now but it used to hold the dubious title of lowest mortality age in England for both men and women 😕

My friends are a gay couple of many years Floss and their intention was to provide rather lovely rooms for visiting performers at Funny Girls; At first all was fine but whether it was their pricing for those elegant ensiutes or something else perhaps Funny Girls weren't able tp pay performers as much at some point I don't kmow. As a niche business they coudn;t attact other guests easily. It was quite sad because they'd put hearts, souls and blood sweat and tears in to the dream.Good to know Harry Ramsdens is still there.I saw for myself the effects of the cuts beginning to take hold. Unforgivable with the fallout on all age groups.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

thanks polly ,
hopefully it will all work out . the extra childcare duties will finger's crossed only be till Easter , when a nursery place will be available for the soon 3 year old . then they will only pay for 1 child , atm it's £85 per day .
3mw hasn't seen or spoke to kids since early Sept, but thankfully kids are ok now , interestingly the house we were in that sold 2 year ago , the new owners still aren't in .. think the house was much bigger project than they thought , their probably still trying to fix 3mw bodged jobs lol .
so it really was un-liveable .
frog is alway again , so lots of video calls daily hopefully I will be joining him for a week soon , but nothing is guaranteed these days.
strange how things work out .
my day today didn't quite go to plan , eldest gd was throwing up this morning, so I ended up making lunch here and becoming meals on wheels mid afternoon. Sunday lunch and apple crumble to follow.
so spare time was cleaning out my very small tin bath pond , fixing the fountain, a very muddy dog walk and a 6 mile run .
suppose I better try and sleep, the wonderful world of work begins again tomorrow hey ho .
night all x

3mw will never be any different or understand what he threw away with you and the children. One day he could end up a lonely old man. Regarding the house when the toxic 2nd husband finally left here I called in an electrician over some problems . Every job the ex had done- he used to have house projects and imagined he was Handy Andy was botched. Not surprising when he was always very drunk.I was told we were lucky the house hadn't gone up in flames.£85 a day for nursery is shocking, how are people meant to afford that? When my first husband and I were expecting our first child we discovered one of my sisters just 16 years old was expecting a baby.No one knew she had a boyfriend. Turned out he was a total waster who'd got her drunk. The parish priest came up with a plan the baby would be handed to the nuns after birth for adoption. The arguments raged . I had the condition where I was constantly being sick while pregnant bur remember saying Over my dead body. I was so adamant that eventually the plan was dropped.I looked after him while my sister went to work. one condition was he was to go to nursery when he was a year old so I would push him there and back each week day and he did love being there. It didn't cost a penny for him to be there that was Nye Bevans welfare state in action. My sister met a very good man who came from Wallsend and was senior management where she worked. They got married and Neil was adopted by her new husband. He never knew Malcolm wasn't his dad and aquired two younger sisters.Years later he joined the Mounties in Caanda returning to England some years later to become a police officer here. I was so glad I'd fought for him we'd never have known what became of him otherwise.Keep on running burtha.pollyx

That's a lovely story Polly. I'd never ever let any church or person tell me my baby had to be adopted. People can be so rigid and so cruel.Been quiet here lately, just not had spare energy to keep up with the forum. Husband been ill and is hard work, but the good weather here is cheering me up, my bulbs are all through already. The weather and garden here is far easier to cope with than it was up in the boonies.5

I know you're comparing where you are now to when you were living up the hill but what are the boonies? That's a word I've never come across before,It's quiet without you here but at least no sudden scary threats. Just look after your health so you can aupport the RV. we'll keep your place here warm Mar.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
