Freudian slip?

I must look in on here more often. You've cheered me up today. Thank you

Sane on this thread is not a word I'd use. I mean, I know I'm ok. But not sure about you lot.

Well I know who I am Mar. I'm the girl who used to be me and I'm ok. Not sure about you though with your various random character changes.I think the heffalump phase was easier at least we knew you were merrily digging those holes. More recently not sure what you're up to.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

If Ming is sane I shudder for the rest of us.
OK, some of us have indeed had the odd sane experience here. Doesn't happen very often though, does it?
Doveling, if you value your own sanity.......RUN.I believe that friends are quiet angels

It's taken me until now to realise what Doveling meant by the Freudian slip in my post. Only just noticed the typo .I also wonder about whether Ming is sane or not but perhaps we've all gone mad over the years and none of us are sane anymore.Too many Heffalumps, Rolled up trouser legs, Froggies and Rolling Pins. Missiing hot waiters . Missing policemen and a police dog. As the person behaving nicely during the infamous Fence parties sitting sipping my homemade peppermint tea while the drink flowed around me. I'm the one who remembers everything. The horror of Nursie, poison sweeties from Alnwick and on and on and on.Things did change when Mar morphed into Ming. I fear she has taken possession of us now and we're all as mad as her now.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I had a similar sort of experience with my niece this afternoon. I said I'd got to the age where I couldn't remember a lot of things I once knew and being very annoyed at not knowing answer to a quiz question on the length of one of the classic horse races - once I'd have been able to name them all with lengths, what part of the year they happened in etc. I also said I'd once woken up with a list I'd part remembered but couldn't work if they were paper sizes (quarto, foolscap etc or book sizes - folio). I was telling her I'd bought larger envelopes yesterday and some of the ones with a board in for sending off photos. A5 she said, but I said they were 'C's if they were envelopes. I had to go and get the envelopes to show her.
Then I got onto the old red exercise books (silvine?) and gills and quarts and poles, rods and perches and she said 'I'm just grateful for google'.
Yes, I decided that I only remembered that it was Uncle Abraham because I'd seen the photograph so many times and that I didn't have an actual memory of him (and a couple of the ugly babies went). I'm spending quite a lot of time on them because I'm planning to hand a lot of them over to my cousins and other people we have lots of photos of, more will be posted off, but I keep finding more of them (especially my dead brother). Mum made me write to several people who'd asked, saying she only had one or two photos. She has loads, many of which I've never seen (though I do recognise a lot of the haircuts and the flowing locks ones). There's one of 3 of my aunts that I may get copied (at my cousin's wedding so 1981 or 2). Sure some of their children have never seen them (taken on our camera and they weren't all present at that wedding).
Had a very tiring but satisfying day. Interview at the jobcentre this morning, proving who I am for my UC application. Yes my carer's Allowance will continue for a few more weeks, plus should get some universal Credit. She advised me to apply for PIP (personal Independence Payment) which is non means tested so would continue even when the estate is settled. My next (phone) interview is an assessment but she thought that my health issues and my bereavement would mean they wouldn't be expecting me to look for work any time soon. She then said I was eligible for an advance of Universal Credit (to be paid back over 12 months) and they're going to put over £300 in my bank account on Thursday (think that's to last for a month). At least I won't be worrying about paying my direct debits whilst sorting lots of other paperwork.
Took 3 bags of bedding and 3 boxes of crockery to a cs (kitchen was getting crowded so gathered all the matching bits - mugs, a few plates plus tea, coffee and sugar containers). At least I have a bit of space to start on the base cupboards. Came back to the bungalow and niece arrived shortly before the vicar. Decided to base the service on my brother's (had left DS3 hunting for a pen drive as it occurred to me that the originals might be on one with my old course work as his death coincided with the end of my Foundation degree). Vicar is going to print the middles (order of service), going to give the job of designing the cover (mainly photos and details of the service) to DS2.
I made my niece the jewellery monitor. There's not a lot of valuable stuff, some pretty things and some junk but it's not worth the risk of an eczema outbreak and as mum's grand-daughters they are next in line. Told her to take the lot, decide what to keep, give to her sister and take the rest to the cs. She's going to have the 2 and 3 drawer sideboards (subject to measuring to see if they will fit). She was reluctant to appear greedy but I told her if she wanted anything, to say (or at least say they were interested). I don't want anyone coming back in 6 months (or even 6 weeks) saying oh well I sort of liked that. Any leftovers will go to the cs to be found by someone who will genuinely love them or needs them (and make money for the charity as well).
Her bf is now lodging at the pub he works in and she would like to take some basic kitchen stuff, so she make a meal for them both there, but doesn't want to take her good stuff from home, so will line up more things to go bread board (to use as a chopping board), knife block (some good knives, some rubbish, utensils etc and a pan or two).
Tomorrow I'm going to sort as much paperwork as possible and make the PIP phone call (even if they take their time sending the paperwork and it takes me a while to assemble all the evidence, my award will be backdated to that phone call). My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage4 -
You need to slow down a bit mothernerd. You're overthinking some things and pushing yourself too fsr. Concentrste on the funeral preps because that date isn't flexible. Your GP surgery should be able to supply a list of your daignosed conditions. PIP and ESA nowadays say do not send a Drs letter. Our GP changed that to a Drs report giving full details of health problems the effects on youngest all her repeat meds etc. He had to charge for the last one though he normally supplied them free. However they tske a lot of time for the reception staff, Checking all her records making a full report, typing and letting Dr cross check and sign so worth paying for.Her most recent assessments were done on paper as was usual when she was on DLA many years ago. Her SG ESA was done without filling in a long form. They reng to ask if anything had changed and next thing we knew was a letter confirming she would continue recieiving SG ESA,If there is anything you sre confused about with DWP give me a shout snd I'll see if ai can help.pollyXIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I just sit here, minding my own business. All I ask is the occasional dust & polish. It's quite boring being a vase and you don't get much exercise. I think it's time I was something else.

Something kind, perhaps useful but also not aggresive or in any way threatening would be good. What are you doing up in the middle of the night is it the boredom? If so it is time for change I'm just wondering what the next incarnation may be.polly busy making plans in case things aren't as hoped. These things never happened when Dr Who regenerated. Mar seems to miss some vital step in the instructions.
