I loved the Stones, fabulous band back then. Also loved R&B, still do. I spent the 60s in all-night biker cafes and murky dives in Edinburgh's Old Town. Lived in bedsits and multi occupancy flats, working all sort of rubbish jobs just to keep myself in makeup and clothes but happy days!

MingVase said:He's haunting me too!!And so he should. While you were going through your various identities I should have been watching " A House Through Time" I was so looking forward to the new series from Leeds. However I completely forgot about it until I was flicking through channels and came across the fourth and final part tonight. It was very good because it showed a lot about the wartime convoys my dad sailed with. There was footage of the winter of 48 my mum often spoke of. Not only was I born a few days before the free NHS went live but it was a nightmare pushing my pram that winter. and keeping the fires alight. All my fault of course. So Mardatha you'd better hope they repeat the whole series as they did the previous ones. You will have to restrain yourself if I do get to watch them otherwise you'll regret it.pollyx

Middle dd was born many years after Boris the Spider was released but she heard it when she was about 10 years old and it freaked her out. It was the creepy crawly , creepy crawly that did it. We get a lot of spiders of all sorts here, lots of farms and marshland. The screams whenever one or more appeared in the house were ear splitting.Hester I'd forgotten the horror of "I'm a Barbie girl" thanks NOT for the reminder.I know we're only just in to Autumn but 13 weeks to Christmas! according to the tracker. The weather has been horrible here rain of biblical proportions , strong winds and very cold. I've decided to combine preparing for Winter with preparing for Christmas. Just doing a bit at a time. rather than moaning about the weather.Summer clothes and sandals will be put away first. I do have Autumn clothes and footwear if neededI didn't even bother with a tree last Christmas. With youngest ill we weren't prepared to Hug your Family for Christmas whatever BJ said.I notice he's out to "Save Christmas" again. Such joy!Small moan about the weather we had some sun earlier but still cold and very windy. It's just started lashing down with rain so today I will be changing cotton bedding for flannelette and getting the winter quilts out.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

We are planing to ignore Christmas here too unless DD can visit. We plan to have an old fashioned mixed grill as that fits in with our diets. It should be very easy cooking. There will be no mince pies, Christmas pudding or any of the other extras either. I will do pigs in blankets though and some extra thick bacon.
