Awful thing to happen Hester, worst feeling ever. Been there.
I need to ask a really stupid question here - a cooking one :) What would you throw into the slow cooker with lamb? I did a big lamb stew last week and one of the things I put in was broccoli, which tasted even more sewagey than it usually does. Is there some rule that i don't know about re brocc? And what will taste good with lamb? TY!

Carrots, onions, celery and potatoes (maybe turnip or swede - basically root veggies!) overcooked broc is icky :p
    Must use my stash up!

Mar - any veg that is OK with a long slow cook - basically nothing green!! A tagine is very nice ;)

In my opinion, which is the only one that counts now I live on my own, there are few meat dishes that are not improved by the addition of mint sauce. I adore the stuff, especially when it's freshly made, but the jars are acceptable.

  • So sad HH.

Mar, some red wind and a good dollop of cranberry sauce? Had to laugh at the slow cooked brocolli, sorry!

If I had any red wine then it would be finished by time the dinner was ready. The stress of cooking would see to it!

I'm addicted to home made herb jellies, whether mint, sage or rosemary, they are all scrummy!
