I don't just have a look, I have an entire appearance change apparently. Though I generally look very sweet and non-threatening, in a very threatening situation I apparently look like I could take on Chuck Norris and win without breaking a sweat. A friend was once threatened in a nightclub and I just stepped in front, 3 girls backed down. On another occasion in Turkey my mum and I ended up in the middle of a fight between two groups of men, I stepped in front of mum and saw them all off. According to both my friend and my mum, they hadn't imagined I could look like that!
Sending hugs Karcher, sorry they didn't arrive sooner.
Very sorry to hear about your friend Hester, such terrible news.
I had a chuckle at your estate agents talk Nursemaggie. When we were looking around houses it was often chuckle worthy. Not sure how estate agents keep straight faces.
This week was supposed to be a 3 day work week, so far it's heading for 4, could end up as 5 but we'll see.
Injury of the week: burning the sole of my foot on a roast vegetable. Answers on a postcard please how I managed that one.
I've just had a haircut, my friendly neighbour did it for the princely sum of $20 (very nice it is too). The highlight though was getting to snuggle her new pupple, an adorable 'oodle named Lewis.
love to all others I've missed, hubby is about to install a new video card apparently...Softstuff- Officially better than 0070 -

Dgd was 3 on Monday, today was the first chance I had to see her. I took her a card and then took her for lunch.
There was money in the card that she discarded as she was more interested in the Disney princess on the card.
When she got in my car she went straight to the drawer where I keep some change, she was so excited to find 3p especially when I said she could keep it.Chin up, Titus out.0 -
Snap Hester. I've just returned from Pickle's 5th birthday party. I spent a happy morning baking teeny weeny sausage rolls cheese straws, mini quiche, cookies and mini lemon meringue tarts.
The party was fairly typical of girls in the pink princess stage.
DIL wafted around with plates, DS2 washed up grimly in the kitchen and I tried to defend the party food against the loopy Dalmatian who thought that Christmas had come early.
I'm in bed early.I believe that friends are quiet angels

greenbee I hope that was not wishful thinking, what ever could your boss have done for you to dream he/she was dead or do you just want their job.
silva if this gets to you before you go have a lovely holiday.
I've had no notices for two days for some reason. I thought it was only today I have been missing.
When I go on holiday I always give the house a good clean so it's clean to come back to. What do you get? The house stinks because it has been shut up for two weeks. I don't know what that horrible smell is because I empty every bin and wash them out, and put bleach down the toilet and kitchen sink.
Within ten minutes of getting home the washing machine is on, the house looks as if a bomb has hit it and all the many years we went camping bit of grass and sand everywhere. I finally stopped having a good clean before I go on holiday. I just come back to an empty bin and the kitchen surfaces littered with all the packets from everything DS has eaten while I have been away.
I wouldn't bother silva, you're at sixes and sevens because you are trying to do too much. Take it easy and be relaxed for your holiday.
candy girl nice to see you again.
MMF007 I thought most mums were like that these days . the average toddler has more power over his mum than a !!!!!! boss over his gang. I'm glad I would be around in twenty years or so when they start running things.
Nice to see you again too softstuff
Know what you mean about hours, years ago when working in a nursing home. I asked the boss one day. How many hours a week did you take me on for? 24 she said. I hope you realise I have done 96 hours in 12 days.
Glad you like the tales of estate agents they make me laugh. I wish DS would see the funny side.
The number 1 requirement of an estate agent is No Sense of Humour.
2. No photographic ability what so ever.
3. No ability to see the absurd results of their photographs.
4. an F in English.
I am getting daily alerts. Today's batch includes a bit of wall with a small window and a boiler, does not appear to be in the kitchen. Another small bit of wall this time it's tiled, a shower head on this one!
If you walk down to the bottom of your garden softstuff you will probably find the roots of the dandelions just poking through. There has been no gardening done here in this century if ever. Nothing else will grow in the garden by the looks of it.
In the description it says, Central Heating, (wait for it) with radiators!
Did he think we would think it was the medieval kind with a fire in the middle of the floor and a big hole in the roof?
To cap it all off it has a street name and a little map showing a few streets. The next street was Wigan road so it can't be in Wigan. I wonder where it could be? :rotfl::rotfl:
The row of exclamation marks are not a swear word. Apparently we are not allowed to say m.a.f.i.a. :eek:0 -
NM Be very glad you have that sense of humour . The joy of estate and letting agents .
There seem to be lots of Wigan Roads . I know there's one in Ormskirk but no doubt yours will be Westhoughton . I can never understand why roads are named for other areas , it can be very confusing at times .
I reckon your son will need to develop a sense of ironic humour . By the time this search is over it will be needed .

Exactly polly he would stop saying we will never get out of here.
It is definitely not Westhoughton we don't have that on our list. Most of the roads round here called Wigan Road eventually end up in Wigan. There is one called Wigan Road in Bolton, goes to Wigan in a very roundabout way. It changes it's name frequently and returns to Wigan Road many times. I have a feeling it is miles away from our search area. I guess you have figured out we aren't interested so I don't want to know. I just though the central heating, with radiators, was hilarious.0 -
Well there's a London Rd in Edinburgh so your house could be 400 miles from Wigan NM
The house at bottom of my cul de sac is up for rent. At a staggering £800 a month. The blurb says ten minutes to the nearest train station - yea maybe so in the middle of the night but not when the one and only road is full of tourists/tractors/combines or there's an accident. And it says this wee village has a "vibrant active community"... well I've only been here 30 years right enough so maybe I haven't found it yet. I can go for months without seeing a soul... although there was a huge mob of us at the library van on Monday right enough - 3 whole people!! :rotfl:0
