Evening all.
Yes I'm watching the football as I type. I'm not particularly interested in football, but No.1 son will be sure to ring me as soon as it's over and want to discuss every move with me. Just murmuring, "Yes, I agree," doesn't cut it apparently.
Honestly, if I'd listened to every conversation my sons had inflicted on me, I would be a world class expert on football and the workings of the internal combustion engine.
Anyway, I am a great patriot, so I'm watching the football with the sound turned off. The commentators drive me batty. Battier.
Florence, you have inspired me. I have started knitted Christmas stockings for this year's Christmas Market. Can't start too soon, it will be here before we know it. (Ducks and runs.)
Tomorrow we have Darling's funeral. I will be glad when it is over.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Am trying to like/understand football as DGS loves it and has started playing for a local junior team. Apparently DGD can start playing next year too. She's not quite three. Seems they start early .7

I only went wrong once in my crochet last night while listening to the match - I was devastated at the result.
Wet here overnight and rain forecast for this afternoon. I had thought about a trip to the nearest shopping centre but that can happen tomorrow - I don't like wet rain!
Another finished scarf.

I love the pattern you use Florenceem, what stitch is it?
One of my grandsons is a huge football fan, so I can make lots of players despite having zero interest in the game. I'm horrified by the abuse being dished out to the players.Chin up, Titus out.8 -

Scarf is by Fibre Flux - Island Lace - very easy - on You Tub. I expect you can use any yarn just by adjusting the number of chains to start - I have used Aran and DK weight.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I hate football with a passion - watching paint dry or grass grow would be far more interesting, and now they'll go on about this until the End of Time. It's a pity they don't get so fired up about the poor NHS staff who are about to get slammed once more. I know I sound really moany but people now seem to be so stupid and blinkered. Either that or I'm just getting seriously OLD ... don't answer that.12

I love football and also care about NHS staff. My eldest DD is a doctor and an extended family member is a nurse. I am a member of The Labour Party who cares deeply about social issues.
I can't speak for other football fans.
Sadly we live in an increasing secular society where other things are worshipped instead of Our Lord and Saviour.
Another scarf.
