As well as having to number the pages of all exercise books at school we had to cover all our text books with brown paper.
My grandmother used to keep all her used envelopes for us children. We'd open them out and draw on the inside.7 -
I feel like I've been hit by a bus. Maybe two or three. I went to bed early and got up late but I did not sleep. I had my second jab yesterday.I wonder if the big spaces are my fault I zoom the pages so I can see. I forgot to shrink the spaces the last time I posted.I may have found my sense of humour tomorrow. We did not cover our exercise books in brown paper, every little scrap was saved and string. I think my grandmother carefully opened out envelopes, turned them over and glued them back together and reused them. Paper was on ration. I do remember using scraps of wallpaper to cover exercise booksat some time.9

maisiek - welcome. I am a slave to my star sign - Virgo but don't tell the Vicar.
annieb64 - yes I remember covering books with brown paper.
I tell people that I am barmy and quite happy about it.
I am spending my evenings watching old shows/films and working on crochet wrist warmers and hoping they will make money for the Salvation Army. Working out a price is always a dilemma for crafters - I ask my Sister who usually suggests a very low amount. Then I ask my daughter who is often about the same price as I am thinking. Then I ask a crafting friend who goes for a much higher price as she looks at makes on Ets.

Mrs_Salad_Dodger - Thanks - I had to learn new crochet stitches to be able to make these - lots of muttering went on here. No swearing allowed in my craft room - I make the rules and have to stick by them.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I've noticed a big space at the top of my post last night. It's probably the techies tinkering with the site which they do from time to time.NM youngest had quite a severe reaction after her first jab later that night. She felt dizzy and next day felt as though she had flu. She took herself to bed and after a few days felt much better. I just felt a tiny sting when the needle went in and felt so well I wandered down into town. She'd advised me to take some sweets or similar with me. I'd completely forgotten but felt so well I picked her meds up from the pharmacy along with some small bottles of lucozade. There was hardly anyone around so I sat on a bench in the sun sipping lucozade. I don't know if it did make a difference but I drank it over the next few days and no problems at all.As a needle phobic person I actually found the jab experience at the hub really good. Everyone from the female volunteer marshals , doctor who took my details, told me I was getting the Oxford AZ and the nurses were lovely. Trying to allow enough time for a taxi to collect me from home I was actually half an hour early. I waited outside and one of the marshals came out and as I was the first appt that afternoon took me into the waiting room and we all had a good chat and a few laughs. It sounds odd but I enjoyed it and thanked them all before leaving.i hope you feel better soon and all is well with you and the family. I've been wondering if you're still able to access the services at the Christie over the past year. Thinking back to our virtual wanderings around Bolton searching for the perfect forever home you must be so relieved to have left the awful neighbours, washing line wars and rubbish issues behind. Living there would have been such a nightmare during the pandemic.Take carepollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.10 -
I usually tell people the minimum price which is an estimate of how much the wool cost. I give most of my makes to my local hospice. They have about 20 shops in the catchment area they cover. I find if I put them in a zip-lock bag and put a label on them they charge a lot more. Mine is knitting. It depends on the shop how much they charge.I'm feeling better magic stuff coffee. I only feel better if I sit still. All of my joints are still extremely stiff. I'm glad I do feel like this it reassures me that the vaccine is working. It's weeks since we heard from Burtha I wonder if she ran off the end when she got to John O'Groats.9

I can't reduce the big gaps between paragraphs. It must be MSE. They have stopped the other posts being enlarged so I'm struggling to read.
