thanks monna,
it's wasn't to bad but I'm really just doing the basics with them both , industrial estate and going back and forth ... would of loved them to have had some real lessons first ,as I don't want up pass on any bad habits but no driving lessons have been allowed with lockdown and everything is backlogged. hopefully over the summer things will improve.
Glad I did it tonight though as I've my 2nd jab tomorrow .

burtha, you tend to forget that things like driving lessons have been suspended, we're so hooked up on to hairdressers and the like. One wonders how people like driving instructors are coping.
Yesterday was bright and showery and today looks like being the same, so the washing will be drying indoors. Won't it be great when we've something else to talk about other than the weather.
I'm looking forward to next week when I have the pleasure of my first visit to the dentist in a year. I have a bit of tooth missing, but as it has given me no grief I've been studiously ignoring it. It will take me 2 buses to get there and I've almost forgotten the etiquette of bus travel.

@monnagran - I used to get a taxi to/from the airport on average once a week. I feel awful for the poor driver, but on a positive note, it means he's been available to do the 4 hour trip each way to bring my mum down here and take her home. It in no way compensates him for the loss of income, but it solves a problem for us as a family about how to see as much of her as we can without exposing her to risk. He took her home after Christmas, and is provisionally booked to bring her down for a visit for the late May bank holiday.10

First chance to get on the computer today.
I was asked if I could make some bands to put on hats for a local business. Needed a table press to attach metal snaps so bought one and been playing with my new toy.
Wet here now and windy.
Going to snuggle in my rocking chair with a blanket and crochet.Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

Morning fencers.
Looks lovely out there this morning, but I've not tested the temperature yet. Saturday is my day to trek down to the Village shop/post office and buy the paper. The rest of the day will be spent in first, trying to ignore the paper and do something useful and second, giving up the unequal struggle and settling down to do all the puzzles.
GreenB, I have only done the journey from where I am now to where my dentist is by taxi once. It was t'other way round and I was having to catch an early ferry. It cost me £20 each way and that is far too much for my budget. The bus is free. Need I say more?
When my father finally gave up driving, which he did as soon as he felt that his reactions were slowing down, we assured him that Matthew, our friendly taxi driver, would take him wherever he needed to go, for peanuts.
Would he ask Matthew to do that?
You bet your sweet life he wouldn't.
My proud, independent Dad would walk, bus, hang-glide, do anything rather than ask anyone to do anything for him.
It wasn't that he couldn't afford it. He had an extremely generous pension, over 50% of which he gave to charity, because, "he didn't need it," but he also had thrift stamped through him like Brighton through a stick of rock.
How did we get on to the subject of my father?
Don't forget that the hour goes on tonight. Tomorrow I will be waking up halfway through the morning.

So sorry. I wrote a post earlier and have just come back because I suddenly thought of something else. No sign of my post at all. I'm certainly not doing it all over again. Life's too short.

Normal Sunday here - watched service from the Church we attend normally and also our local Salvation Army service.
Went out for air and exercise.
Saw my Sister when she came to collect some bits that I had got for her.
Been working on the crochet Gryffindor blanket.
Chap who asked me to do 100 cap bands came to collect a sample.

Good luck with the hat bands Florenceem. I've just finished 50 Cream egg filled chicks. They look so cute with their orange beaks turned up, nestling in a bed of straw.
The sun is shining brightly here, but it will have to get on with it because I have planned today indoors. I'm determined to dispose of a load of outdated paper work that is presently lying in drifts all over the house. It will take a good while to make sure that I'm not ditching anything important, but it is recycling day tomorrow and that, hopefully, will concentrate the mind.
