maryb said:Maybe there are some cases of flu but people getting it think it's COVID and then when they test negative think it's a false negativeLast day of November I had an email from youngest. She and BF had been feeling rotten for a few days so had just ordered Covid tests. Hers came back negative next day as she's ECV. BFs a couple of days later. Iwas pretty sure he'd picked up flu.when she first mentioned they were ill. Normally she has the jab every year but with the support for GP surgeries withdrawn in August meaning the nurse could no longer visit and dd wouldn't risk going to the surgery she missed it. However she's had the jab every year and often still had flu.. She's the same with Norovirus. This time she didn't get it but she hadn't been in the Drs for her 2 weekly apptsamong families with children they thought had Norovirus. If only people would follow the phone for advice rather than bring the patient in there would be less spreaders of Norovirus, German Measles etc.I imagine GPs may be able to get that message over in view of the Pandemic publicity.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Morning all.
Pollyanna, I have long held the view that doctor's waiting rooms are breeding grounds for all sorts of nasty infections. I avoid them like the plague - an apposite simile if you think about it.
No don't think. It's Sunday.
The sun is streaming in through the gaps in the curtains but it is still very chilly. Hopefully it will warm up later. If it does I will venture out for a stroll round the scrubby, pocket handkerchief sized garden that seems to have attached itself to chez-moi. There will be wailing and gnashing of teeth, followed by sobbing and the wringing of hands.
Then I will retire indoors to read my book. You can't rush these things.
THOUGHT FOR SUNDAY
The heart that loves the little things is full of deep content.
The life that does the little things is often nobly spent.
When God made the mountains, he made the flowers as well.
And when He laid the ocean bed, he formed the cockle shell.
So do not be despising the day of little things
For bees, as well as as angels, can boast a pair of wings.
"Do not despise these small beginnings." (Zachariah 4:10)I believe that friends are quiet angels
Who lift us to our feet when our wings
Have trouble remembering how to fly.12 -
Sunny here but cold in the shade.
Been busy sewing today. Finished 2 Easter bunnies for SA fund raising.

Monna - that reminds me of a conversation i once overheard in a doctor's waiting room
Woman 1: "Oh hello X, i haven't seen you here in a long time!"
Woman 2: "no - i've not been well"I wanna be in the room where it happens10 -

"Do not despise these small beginnings." (Zachariah 4:10)An apposite simile is very apt Monna. One year on and we miss Superdoc. He did switch to hiding dd down a corridor a few years ago which helped minimise some infections normally picked up in the waiting room.It seemed to be lighter earlier today but very cold. It's the 1st of March tomorrow so only 4 weeks to go and the clocks go forward and BST begins. Something to look forward toYour wailing and gnashing of teeth, sobbing and wringing of hands probably serves as a welcome diversion for your neighbours when there isn't much going on. View it as an a act of kindness , free entertainment and perhaps an excuse to phone each other "She's out there again. Do you think it's some sort of ritual or strange form of exercise?"I like the little things monna. My early tiny snowdrops and muscari are making me smile and there are other joys to come as the garden comes back to life. Those Easter bunnies are lovely Florenceem. I'm trying to work out what SA stands for. Salvation Army. Sailor's Aid ? Could be anything.pollyx.It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Pollyanna, the neighbours know me too well to comment on the wailing and gnashing etc. Gangsta Granny next door might bring out the stool that she has to stand on to see over the fence and berate me for disturbing the peace, but everyone else is more like to shrug their shoulders and mutter.
Florenceem, those Easter bunnies are gorgeous. They put my Easter Chicks into the shade. Mind you, I might beat you with numbers. I must have knitted thousands over the years. I once made one for every child the school I was teaching in., Mind you, it was the year I retired so I knew I wasn't setting a precedent. It costs a fortune in creme eggs.
Still bright and sunny here. Still freezing cold too and I'm still in my warm bed.
No! Please don't look at the time.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
I'm not much on seizing the day. I just sort of poke it with a stick.I believe that friends are quiet angels
