Well what a lovely day it is today. Bright, sunny and fairly warm. the washing is hung outside (i'm a bit of an obsessive washing hanger outerer).
OH has an appointment for his vaccine tomorrow as they've moved to the over 60s in this area - it's a relief as he's rather portly and means mine can't be too far away.
Mar - in my last house, I realised that the cupboard i'd kept my dry food stores was a bit warm for food as it was next to the boiler and that i should have kept the plates in there and the food in the plates cupboard. trouble is, i only realised this on the day i moved outi'd lived there for 5 years!
I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
Nothing like shuffling around tins of beans, bags of jellybabies and dehydrated elephants ears to sharpen the brain Ming.
The cricket is over. I will recover in time. I'm ironing my black armband just now.I believe that friends are quiet angels

I enjoy watching the cricket but sadly it wasn't very enjoyable for England today. So nice to see the crowds there but they all look to be a little close for my liking!8

You have a point there, Camelot. I just know that in future, when this is just a bad dream and restrictions have gone, I am going to walk into a shop or down a street and think "Surely there are too many people here? And should they be that close together?"One life - your life - live it!9

I've found myself thinking why are they all standing in large groups and getting quite irate. Then I realise a year ago that was normal life as we knew it. Well apart from Seasonal Flu and Norovirus seasons when it was exit stage left.I think many of us will continue hands, face ,space for ever. I don't like all these slogans but that one did hit the spot for those prepared to take note.As for what have I been doing . I have been have a bit of a hissy fit. Not so effective when you are the only one in the house.Temporary laptop No3 is beginning to display the same problem as it's twin No2.Both diaries and emails and the ability to search online have kept things on track, able to refer back over the past year. When the dd is still- we had the extend it letter- shielding elsewhere it's vital. So a long email has been sent her way which hopefully she'll remember to pass on to the tech bf before I'm left with a black screen as I was twice over the past year.I'm finding your Daily Thoughts better than ever monna.. Very helpful and sometimes funny in the present situation.I haven't caught up properly but look after yourself burtha. I know the running is beneficial for both your physical and mental health especially with your Frog abroad at the moment but take care when the headaches ramp up.Take care everyone. If I disapppear you'll know why. Just keep an eye on the cupboard tidier in my absence please.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
There but for fortune go you and I.7 -
I think the very fact that flu was almost non-existent this winter proves that spacing is the way to go from now on. We definitely will be sticking to it.

I'm wondering if all the emphasis on Covid has meant that ordinary flu is now something people are not reporting. Perhaps the annual flu epidemic has sunk below the radar. Don't take any notice of me, my ignorance of things medical is woeful, only surpassed by my ignorance of things computery.
So. It's Friday again. Has anyone else found that the time is flying past? I thought that it would drag with lockdown, but quite the contrary. By the time Ive got used to it not being January, it's stepping into March.
You are very kind Polly. These thoughts are all contained in a couple of scruffy exercise books that I've been adding to for years. The trouble is that I've not been marking the ones I've used until recently. Hence some of them will appear more than once. Or twice.
Like this one.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Always !!!!!! sausages well before cooking to make sure they are quite dead.
ETA
Oh! I forgot we were on mse. Try 'jab' It means the same.
Double ETA. Ah. The asterisks have disappeared in the editing and the offending word has reappeared. Sorry about all that.
Triple ETA. Whoops! The asterisks are back. It all happens here, doesn't it?I believe that friends are quiet angels

They are saying it looks like flu and covid cannot coexist.I don't know how they can prove it.We have very heavy frost this morning. sunny with not a cloud in the sky.It was only in the editing. It should not offend as a verb only as a noun.7

I understand that the take-up of the flu vaccine was particularly high last autumn so that will have helped as well7

Maybe there are some cases of flu but people getting it think it's COVID and then when they test negative think it's a false negative
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!7
