Well my plan to catch up after posting earlier today was scuppered by spending the rest of the day tearing the house apart trying to find the diary that tracks everything medical including meds, contact phone and online details including the Rheumo nurse and many others . It's always kept in my bag but had gone missing. I've moved sofas and chairs, looked under and above things with no joy. I was about to wash my hair but decided to pull my very heavy bed out after hours of searching. It was down the side near the bottom along with a new book I'd begun to think I'd imagined buying a few weeks ago. Needless to say the hair will be washed in the morning. Not sure how this will go but I've already responded to VJs. So Ginny The polytunnel sounds as though it may be a solution to the strong winds here.I'd be interested to hear more about it. i hope all is well with you and yours including the GC. i hope your GS is still loving his school.I'm glad to hear all is well with you and the family Lyn. I keep telling dd we will be together again and so will you and your family.burtha Good to hear the expectant mums and babies are ok. I have a very hard Paddington stare perfected over the years for those who abuse verbally or otherwise pharmacy, surgery, hospital ,shop staff and others just trying to get on with their jobs. There have been med supply issues over the last couple of years but the pharmacists are doing thier utmost manning the phones talking to suppliers when they would be dispensing . noone enjoys standing in queue but the self entitled who argue don't help the situation for anyone. Make sure you look after yourself as well as everyone else. You too Nargle. I'm glad your son is with you and the work you did on the house means you've fallen in love with your home and garden again.. "This to shall pass" are words I've said to myself in my head many times over the years and also said to dd. It's a good thing to bear in mind .I missed the VERY LOUD GUITAR in your earlier post VJs. I'd be putting ear defenders on.I hope the forager doesn't fetch home any architectural wotsits from his expeditions. I confess I had a giggle at your MIL mention but it's good to hear she's coping.Love the little brass bell Mar. We should be safe while they still have sweeties. You minus the sweeties doesn't go well.Maryb I can't begin to imagine living through this with nightmare neighbours so it's good your dd is home with you.Best wishes and stay well to you both ivyleaf.I have no idea how long a post can be on this site.So will post this and start the last bit.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Ooh that went ok. I've hardly been in the garden camelot it's been really cold here. It seems warmer weather is on the way so I hope to get out in the air and get stuck in. I've been making a very thorough shopping list for tomorrow in the hope I can stay home for the next couple of weeks. it all depends on where is open and what they have but now is probably the best opportunity I'll have to catch up on things that fell by the wayside over the very intensive recent years. You're right when you say everyday is a day nearer the end. It's lovely everyone here is being positive. No doubt one day burtha's planned party will see us all here. Hopefully with moderate drinking next time and some food for polly!Take care. I've worked my way though two and a half sheets of A4 notes . Hope I haven't missed anyone. Hot chocolate , 2 hot water bottles and Voltarol gel for me now. Looking forward to my shower in the morning but dreading washing my hair and hitting the shops. Nevermind " This too shall pass"Sleep tight allpollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Got to bed and realised I'd turned the page over and missed Monna out. One day monna you will have the home you planned for you. We are realising the ups and downs over the years have in a way prepared us for the present situation although we never anticipated this. You will get your things in place in your home but happy as a sandboy is fine for now.Take care and keep being you. You're probably all in the land of nod so polly is leaving the building and going back to bed. I'll be fit for nowt tomorrow or should I say today. Could be interesting in town!pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Mar I never actually made it to town today. After all the lifting and shifting of furniture yesterday and deciding to do a late night catch up here when I finally got to bed it was paypack time. Fibro and Arthritis flares and tossing and turning until about 5am this morning. I finally fell asleep for a couple of hours and then the very loud alatm clocks woke me up.I made a brew brought the milk in and debated the hair wash. I came to the conclusion it was a very bad idea to do the shops and pharmacy with a very foggy brain and the physical function of a very slow slug. I've spent years advising people to pace themselves and choose thier battles but seemed to have missed the memo myself. Next time I do something stupid feel free to shout at me.I emailed dd earlier to let her know her bf could stay in his working from home pjs. He woudn;t need to get dressed to pick up the meds I was going to put halfway up the very long drive once I had moved back to a safe distance and dd and I could shout to each other as she hung out of the window. I could then get back in the taxi and head home with my shopping.I'm now reclining in bed with a stack of pillows, hot water bottles and a lavender heat wrap around my neck and not planning to do more than keep up with the threads today.Plan is to try again tomorrow,Meanwhile I've not only found myself describing myself as. elderly (still 16 in my head} I've realised I'm a bit of a Luddite when it comes to tech and modern times. No longer bank or order online. Tend to use the landline with big button keys or email. Rarely use my mobile just have it with me when out and about in case I need it. I don't send texts etc, fingers cant cope. It's a back up during phoneline and internet outages which are frequent here. It's just a basic disability friendly mobile with bigger buttons. I tried dds smartphone but not good at swiping. As I don't use it much its payg as I don't need a lot of stuff dd has and so no contract needed. When I was in the coop a few days ago I asked the assistant if top up vouchers could still be used as I'd read a few things suggesting otherwise. She assured me they were. Needed to top the phone today and got a series of messages saying I couldn't use that method in the present situation Advising using an App, going online or phoning and using a bank card. Dd is currently trying to find out if she can top my phone up remotely. I'm not comfortable making a card payment while my head is mashed and my fingers aren't good. Still have the memory of the big hit on my credit cars a few years ago. If I need to go the card option as the current situation continues I'd be happier if dds bf does a thorough security check of my laptop which isn't possible at the moment. It was a key logger that cloned my card and sold it on around the UK and there was security on. I do update but I'd rather he did a proper search .Well I've waffled on Mar. I hope all is well with you and yours. Going to check my emails to see if dd has had any luck on local fb page re the mobile top up or the pharmacy opening hours. They closed earlier than the Boots site said the other day so she's trying the local info.Take carepollyxx. .It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

just ref pharmacy , I would suggest if you can to call up the pharmacy before you go , just to check if your prescription is ready so you don't need to make 2 journeys, the volume of prescriptions has doubled,( don't know what it's like in other areas,) . we are working flat out trying just to stay on top xx£223/ £250 GC6

It might be worth seeing if your local chemist does a notification service, mine does and I signed up, so I get a text when my script is ready to pick up, less time waiting and quicker for them as well.£71.93/ £180.007

He'd been doing phone appts until then but one of the recerptionists phoned the day before dds 2 weekly appt and asked about the meds he;d normally print off diring the appt the next day. There are 19 on repeat and various what he calls fire fighting meds every now and then. Offered a phone appt with a locum but we keep track of everything and dd wasn't needing to speak to anyone.Usually take the prescriptions to the pharmacy but they were sending them electronically to our normal pharmacy.I tried daily to get through on the phone to check if they'd received them but they're obviously under a lot of pressure and not picking up. Tried phoning our practice a day later and then at the beginning at the week phones were ringing out or engaged. I think it was Tuesday the practice manager picked up and told me they'd been sent a day earlier than usual on the ThursdayAlthough I have the phone no of the pharmacy and the care home section manager who steps in if something important isn;t in and sources it I still haven't managed to get through on the phone..They have my landline number and last month told me they'd phone when the meds were done.this time. I've checked for messages if I've been out but none and no calls from their number.I been to town but the times open aren;t matching any info online. I've left dd on local fb to see if she can find those opening times.I'll go early tomorrow as it seems mid afternoon is when they shut earlier than they originally said.Im pretty sure dd had notification texts set up on her phone a while ago but I've had her double checking for messages from the surgery app or the pharmacy. Nothing there apart from phone appt reminders from the surgery.. Need to see about notifications when I get into the pharmacy. The demand is overwhelming now for medication so it's quite a task to get through it. In normal times it takes 2 or sometimes 3 members of staff to check , double or sometimes triple check dds meds due to some needing signed for. Everyone diong their bit in these sudden strange timess deseves out thanks. Dd has a little buffer for things she can't stop overnight but I'm hoping tomorrow I'll be able to get the usual monthly amount.Bread yeast seems be the holy grail at the moment. My mum used to make Irish soda bread so although I'm not much of a bread eater I can knock one up should I need to.Mardymar I'm convinced we were seperated at birth. At last a fellow dinosaur. Erm aren't they extinct? Maybe we need to go back to the drawing board and start a tribe of people who do things the old way but it works. I know how about the Rainbow Warriors? Now that's a blast from the past but maybe out time has come. If we are to lead our tribe you are not allowed to "look after " the chocolate or any edibles. You can knit ponchos and blankets instead.Burtha Hot water bottles are brilliant. Very comforting and help ease aches and pains. Heat wraps too. Told you I was a luddite.Take care allpollyx. It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.
