Well I go missing for a while and have to trawl through to find the Fence.I hope you're on the mend VJs. Be patient you can't mess about with shingles, it has a nasty habit of popping back when least expected.Hope everyone is plodding on. We've had a taste of isolation and it wasn't fun. We're now on telephone appointments with Superdoc and there's a good plan in place during the present situation which is reassuring. he doesn't want either of us near the waiting room. It's going to feel odd not to have the 2 weekly appointments after all these years but he's done the best thing in the circumstances.I'll concentrate on the garden. I'm sure it will be glad as it's been a long way down the to do list for a while.Take care all.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I have no sweeties or chocolate - bad planning there! I guess Im in for a bit of poly tunnel erecting this next few weeks don't know how the flipping heck Im going to do it on my tod as hubster is very weak and watery with a nasty ankle injury and a double hernia (only small) Who knew that the bungee jump I erected in the back garden was too long on elastic and too short on drop. Actually both problems arrived over a week or so and both out of the blue.Clearing the junk to travel light
Saving every single penny.
I will get my caravan8 -
Sitting tight up here staying home. Cant get online delivery from Sainsbugs at all, all booked solid. And I've had a weekly order for the past several years - wish they had kept some slots for regulars.

Thanks, Polly, i do still have it but it's improving... Last week i was on regular 4 hourly paracetomol, this week i can just 'put up with it' though it still hurts at times... Whilst, as far as i know, i don't have major underlying health problems, i am very run down so am keeping myself fairly distanced from the public anyway... (except yesterday in the paint aisle of B&Q which was heaving - everyone with the same idea as us, if we're going to be stuck at home but otherwise healthy, we could do some decorating).
Stay safe peepsI wanna be in the room where it happens5 -
The idea of a poly tunnel is quite tempting at the moment Ginny. I could live in the garden and avoid seeing my idiotic neighbours all in their 70s carrying on as though things are normal against advice. Hope your husband is soon on the mend.Mar it seems to me for all the fuss and "planning" things are very disorganised. Regular online food shoppers should be a priority. I've never ordered food etc online but those who do should be first in the queue.Try and build up your immune system VJs when you're feeling run down. It should help with recovery.pollyxIt is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

I've just been reading about people using Kitchen Roll instead of Loo Roll . Well that wont end well. I spent years training the dds not to put face wipes etc down the loo. It looks as though the plumbers will be coining it when this is over..Showing my age here but it's reminded me of my 50s childhood. For some unknown reason we had an indoor bathroom with Bath and Basin but the toilet was way down the backyard. It was a scary place to us youngsters and mum had to stand outside talking to us so we knew she was still there. However much she swept spiders and cobwebs returned daily. On wet weekends it was my job as the eldest aka Wee Slavey to sit with the local papers and cut squares of "Toilet Paper" to hang on the nail in the loo.Over the years many people have remarked on my cast iron bladder, not needing the loo while out and about even during pregnancy. I reckon I trained it in childhood to avoid toilet visits in the dark.I'm ok for loo rolls atm, I always shop ahead as sometimes we aren;t well enough to go out.I have remembered however that GQ has a huge amount after her dad mistook pallets for packs. I suppose if needed we could mount a Fence expedition to repenish our stocks. No things beginning with "E" involved is the only rule.polly.It is better to light a single candle than to curse the darkness.

Hope you're all coping, it's scary times.
Does anyone else remember the toilet roll shortage? Maybe the early 70s, I can remember by dad standing outside the bathroom door shouting '3 sheets only'!5 -
Indeed Camelot, I do remember the great toilet roll shortage of the 70s. It was followed swiftly by the great sugar shortage. I also remember the great pepper shortage of the 60s. I can't remember quite why pepper suddenly disappeared from the shops, but it was more precious than gold dust for a time and it was remarkable how everyone desperately NEEDED pepper.
I foresee a great interest in wartime rationing arising. Ha! Been there. Done that.I believe that friends are quiet angels
