  • You're making it pretty difficult for me to prove your innocence Mar!

I reckon that book is what will help . For example she covers freezing meat so no more confusion there . Gravies , sauces , garnishes etc . As we both prefer Lamb there are 20+ pages of recipes for lamb .

Each meat has separate pages of information .

By the way if you want the base for a savoury gravy you can put chopped onions and other veg if wished under the joint .

Bear in mind all ovens vary . Some run a bit hot , some cooler so just a case of checking and using your judgement on timing .

We'll beat that original Heifer in the cooking dept at school and you'll end up enjoying it .

Now just wipe Ele from your vocabulary and start with a clean slate .

  • Just read through my previous post . I didn't mean the book would help freeze or cook an Elephant ! It may read that way but no .

It does cover game though which you like ( legal game not fluffy ducklings ) and offal so liver recipes .

So you're saying it doesnt even cover elephants? Well what kind of cookbook is that then? What's the point of it? Hmhphm?
My oven is very slow, everything needs left an extra 10-20 mins. That's the top wee oven - I never use the big main one.
I've been off eating for a couple of weeks Polly, been living on Complan and hoping xmas changes that.

So if you omly use the top oven how did you expect to get the elephant in? Butcher it into chops, steaks, cutlets etc first?
    Elephant trunk soup? Yum.

    Hello all :xmassmile
Just popping by to wish everyone a Nadolig Llawen.
I've had my first present...... a cough and cold :(. Hey ho it will go probably after the holiday.
We are busy cooking today as there will be 7 for lunch tomorrow, so I need all the help I can muster to get ahead. DH is helping ( ? )
I'm looking forward to tomorrow and watching the DGC opening their presents, I hope they won't be disappointed, especially DGS as his are mainly computer games. They are very small, but so expensive . DGD has a big sack full, but hers are packaged in large boxes !

I hope everyone has a good Christmas whether with family, friends or alone and I shall send you all many virtual hugs.

    :xmastree: MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE :xmassign:
    Take care all

  • Delurking just to say, Mar always remember when it's brown it's done but when it's black it's booggered. Merry Christmas everyone.
