  • Morning, haven't been here for ages and thought I'd pop in to see how everyone is? life has been busy since pre Christmas and we're now looking at the changes we'd like to make in the new house. We've been here long enough to see a few tweaks would make it better for us and are now having the great debate about just what to do. HWK is making inroads on the new allotment and it's mostly cleared now and we've put in some fruit bushes and are looking forward to the spring. We're living with the garden until the summer to see what if anything comes up in it and then we'll make changes here too. Hope you are all well and OK.

Sun shining up here for the first time in ages, really lifts your mood. I've been very flat this winter.

    Hi all
Sorry you haven't moved yet Monna, but I hope that it happens soon. You must have the patience of a saint.
Mar sorry to hear you've been somewhat flat, visions of Flat Eric flashed before my eyes. Ducks and runs :rotfl: Perhaps more jelly babies would perk you up :D
    Take care all.

Afternoon all, called in to catch up. Its a bit chilly here and my washing wouldn't dry so I forced myself to fill the oven with baking - ginger cake today. Must defrost some apples for a crumble later in the week.

All ticking along here, Christmas was quiet but really nice. Im emptying my house still to fund the caravan and its not going too bad. Doesn't seem to be making many empty spaces but Im sure it must be. Lots donated, sold and gifted so good for all.

Will try and call in more often to see you all. Glad the move went well Lyn, I hope your garden has lovely suprises in the summer xx

Thanks, ginnyknit, you have reminded me to get apples and blackberries out of the freezer for a crumble!

  • Thanks Ginny, we love it here and it's so much closer to both the girls and their little families too. We see DD1 and James and his boys fairly often, mostly on Sunday afternoon when they come across for tea before the boys get dropped at our church to meet their mum, it's really nice seeing them regularly. The others grow apace the Zebra child is 5 at the end of this month and little Oreo is 2 already, gosh, blink and you miss it eh? Hope all is well with you and yours M'dear xxx.

Cant believe Zebra is nearly 5 MrsL - where did that time go! So pleased that your move has been everything and more that you hoped for too.
DgD & her boyfriend have had their offer on a house accepted. When I sold my mum's house I used a local conveyancer that was recommended & she was good and quick. I've told DGD about her and she's come back to tell me that she's about £500 cheaper than the quotes they had from solicitors so she's well pleased. Hopefully as first time buyers things should progress quite quickly. I've started a box of household and food items for them as they've got very little and will need to furnish. She has managed to get second hand 6 month old washing machine! She's beginning to embrace MSE!!!
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

    I realised I haven't posted here for a while.....

Time seems to sneak past without my realising; we've had a pretty manic time, with me having a major lupus flare, plus some minor drama over the surgery losing the script for Mr Wolf's new Parkinsons medication. The consultant has given him a 2nd tablet to take 3 times daily and the surgery mislaid the script for a fortnight - finally found it filed in the "for collection by S/Drug" folder - except we have our scripts sent electronically, not collected, and if S/Drug aren't told to collect it it'll sit there forever. Anyways, sorted now.

He's also had the first of his six exercise classes, aimed at PD patients (hooray, he'll be out from underfoot for 2 hours once a week for 6 weeks).

And we had two beautiful, sweet-natured, but VERY time-consuming doglets to stay over New Year.

And now I'm being given The Look as Mr Wolf is waiting to go into town for a F&V shop, so I must love you and leave you.....

Ooh gosh - seems this thread was on page 2!!

Everyone seems so busy... - we've been really busy over christmas and NY and then went to Tenerife for a week (I know, it's a hard life). The weather was fab - 22 degrees and sunny. 22 degrees is my old favourite temperature - it's now 25, but I wasn't complaining... :p Also lovely that it didn't get dark until 6.30.

back yesterday and spending the day today getting the house straight after the kids were in it for the week.. They don't seem to know how to wash any clothes (despite both being / having been at uni) or throw out food that is going off

Back at it tomorrow and raring to go to get my PhD finished. Deadline is September so i am now counting down....
I wanna be in the room where it happens
