What a relief to be able to go to the shops and buy normal everyday ingredients to make ordinary meals with again. We have a Nisa in the village that sells bacon pieces at £1.65 a kilo pack and they go such a long way just adding that extra savouriness in the background of a dish, really good value. There are big gaps on shelves in the Co-Op though and not much bread either so I guess the weekly re-stock is out of kilter because of the bank holiday for the New Year. Very little by way of fresh fruit and no small potatoes too, Morrisons tomorrow and the hope that they will be restocked as they're a bigger shop. Time will tell.....0

I did a fairly big top up shop today MrsL both in Morry's and Aldi some odd gaps on the shelves but nothing major. I usually buy 4 Sunday joints for the month to put in the freezer. Couldn't find the cut of lamb I wanted in either shop and wasn't impressed with the choice of pork but I did get a nice joint of beef and a large chicken salad so we wont starve
I do need to do a full inventory of the food cupboards and freezers. I also need to decide what veg to grow this year. I hav'n't got a great deal of room so need to make the best of the space.Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0 -

Hi. Silver-oldie, no my dear, still here. I had a request last week for a bit more information on something on a form I filled in in JULY! Have they only just got around to reading it? I keep having to rescue things already packed because I need to use them.
I'm heartily sick of living among half packed boxes, piles of things waiting for decisions to be made and general chaos
I hope everyone has recovered after Christmas and have picked up the threads of life again.
Not keen on this cold weather though. We have been spoilt so far this winter..I believe that friends are quiet angels
