I need to ask you a defrosting question pls Fencers. A small joint of pork, accidentally removed from the freezer for 2 hours, and then replaced. Will it be safe to eat or will I bin it?0

So sorry to hear about millie
I probably wouldn't trust it, MarI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Oh, for heaven's sake Mar, it shouldn't have had time to attract anything nasty, unless you spent the 2 hours dragging it round the floor. Please remember that in years gone by we didn't have fridges, let alone freezers. A pork joint would have been bought from the butcher on Saturday and kept in a cool larder if you had one, or a kitchen cupboard if you didn't for at least 24 hours before being cooked for the Sunday roast.
Thank you all for your lovely comments about Millie. It is humbling to realise that so many people enjoyed the stories of her exploits.
I think coming back into an empty house is the worst thing. No huge dog trying to turn herself inside out with excitement at seeing me. Even if I've only popped out to the garage for something.
It is going to take a while to get over the loss.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Mar - perfectly safe!Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle0
