1) Pot of tea in bed this morning, woke at normal time but due to clocks going back that was an hour too early!
2) Pruned the blackberries in the garden and all prunings chopped up and into recycling bag for collection tomorrow.
3) Supper chuntering away in the slow cooker, smells delicious, wonderful things slow cookers.
4) Maisie doggie all day tomorrow.
5) Coffee at the garden centre this morning and finding faggots in the butchery and a lovely piece of Ox cheek at affordable prices.0 -
1) car load for recycle centre and some wood to the communal bonfire for next weekend
2) restful cup of tea with mum after church. We went to a hotel rather than a tea shop - very peaceful
3) ds arrived home and we walked the spaniels. Then he explained some of his PhD (maths) and I understood some of it!!! We also had a good talk about ethics
4) Then tomato and chicken pasta for tea
5) then dd2 took him to the station and I had a lovely candlelit evening finishing The Chessmen. The heating went on for a couple of hours. I have succumbed!MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Mila Keep mending!
PK Your Saturday sounds like my perfect Saturday.
& We have been to Shoreditch......
1. Stayed in a beautiful flat in Shoreditch for the weekend. Love pretending to be a hipster!
2. Brought down Mr W £15 meal for 2 for Friday night meal. Was warm enough to eat on the balcony.
3. Comicon on Saturday. Love the atmosphere, the dressing up and the stalls. Yummy Japanese food for lunch and black sesame ice cream for our 3 o'clock. Saw the Red Dwarf team from a distance. Sat in on a talk about Bladerunner and spent some time with the Steampunks. Happy Geeksalso picked up lots of vouchers for free cokes that the young people were discarding.
4. Sunday morning walk to Colombia Road flower market to buy a plant, coffee and pastries. Also got some Xmas baubles.
5. Harrods for lunch. Belated wedding anniversary celebration. Had the voucher from Buyagift for months, but no opportunity to use it.
Such fun!0 -
1. Went to Kew Gardens. Arrived too early before it opened and walked down the road and waited for it to open by watching some rugby training.
We walked round and some lovely coloured leaves still and the many different shapes of the trees which had lost their leaves.
2. Train connections there and back worked well. Going the train was busy at 9/15 with supporters going to watch the NFL match at Twickenham which started at 13.30.Hope prematch entertainment was goid.
3. Did but a couple of things in the giftshop for Christmas presents. Only small items but will be appreciated and are right for the person.
4. When we arrived home I did more gardening. Planted some bulbs.
Also tidied up some pots and realised that squirrels had been burying cobnuts in one of them.
5. Saw 5 swans fly over. Strange seeing them fly as they are a strange shape with the long necks.
6. DH cut the grass which makes the garden look better and saved me doing it.0 -
Enjoying the extra hour.
1. Mowed again. Will that be last time this year? Mower as Hoover means lots of leaves included for compost. Cut back privet overhanging that, too.
2. Little wren and, I think, woodpecker, calling and darting low beneath the fast-changing race between dappled sun and hefty raincloud gloom. Spits were dropping, for seconds only, like little diamond flashes, landing on my jumper and staying there.
3. Unloaded part roll of surgery flooring, excess to requirements. Will do v.well in garden room. Shame to waste it, 2 other narrow lengths and 2 good coat racks.
4. Using up rtcs. Made Fruit sponge, with pineapple, apricots zapped in hm rosehip syrup, a few more hm truffles. It's vg. Add rtc dbl cream:-) 6 portions = 2 rounds, inc. NZ friends.
5. Fed the cakes courvoisier, ½ bottle(yes debs, gifts, except 1. Well done on your baking 1st! Your mulching cherries remind me I still haven't decanted last year's emporium rtc blueberries in vodka. Could be rocket fuel by now.). Then, more eggs from local hens en route>All Souls service. Vicar's girls are sulking. Afternoon service, affecting, effective, reflective. Names read. Then took amazoned copy of Antoine Laurin's 'The President's Hat' to friend whose daughter in Portugal has been burnt out. Yesterday was her birthday....
This no.5 is a rambler, I realise, but it felt like one roll of time, all of a related piece.

Well done, Lewis Hamilton. Intriguing race and more last gasp rugby results.
More tests this arvo, but will probably attack the rtnd again Japanese anemones beforehand, although more book is tempting.
I'm Travelling Alone - Samuel Bjork. Dark Nordic, bien sûr:-)

Ooh Kew Villagelife, haven't been for a few years and now feel visit coming on.
Sunday pleasures,
Lulu out first thing onto her winter paddock, long, lush grass and my girlie only just got inside the gate before the head went down, don't think she even saw me walk away.
Home to coffee, bacon butties and all things Ambridge.
Geraniums tucked away for winter and more tulip pots planted up.
Back to the yard and horse came in with food baby!
Like DFV have been enjoying the LOTR films and last night was 'Return of the King', Capt S remark that all the 'top guys' seem to ride white horses was enough to kickstart my imagination, Lulu and I charged down the hill with the Riders of Rohan :rotfl:0 -
Waves hello from my friends dining table as I'm in pinching her internet! Should be connected at home by end of week!
Should have furniture by end of week
Will probably be a stone heavier by end of week.
Have been visited a plenty and quite looking forward to a bit more normality ( maybe and whatever normal is ) this week. Sleep pattern is a bit better than it was.
Haggis Dog is a star and after a rocky first weekend has settled in really well and eating and drinking as per Labrador normal.
Have had my blooming labyrinthitis which is by now just a nuisance as I can't drive .
Took bus in to town this morning to do an errand for the bride to be niece and to pick up spare set of keys from solicitor. Got a few RTCs in M&S which are now in my new freezer and bought with a voucher I'd been given.
I have a washing machine and for the first time in what seems like ever I don't have to wash everyday ...an odd feeling!
Enjoying guilt free baths that are not rationed or water metered.
Enjoying friendships being rekindled.
Missing Australia though! Didn't know if I would but I do not in a yearning kind of way ( at the moment) but as in a it's my normal way and here things just seem a little different.
Kids managing without their mummy and I'm managing without them as long as I speak to them everyday. Will be glad when my phone line is in.
Right, better head back home! Take a dog a walk. It's dry today and was cold and frosty on the ground where we walked this morning.
Catch up by the weekend again.0 -
5 Days until BoP is live in Times Square. Set you buck of face for 4 O’clock in the afternoon for live gloat inn selfies! More soon. On Thursday, the train going to Warster is inn line for catching as BoP and BoPsie herd ourselves into town for a curry. Holiday mode detected. More inn here later!
4 On about tack, BoP was out yesterday I was inn town looking for beds and we herd a place was good. It was full of cheap tack. Really cheap tack at extortionate prices. Things that Brown’s Arcade gave away if you won the bingo instead of the ticket for the colour TV! Cannot remember how many cheap teds I gave away there! Still I know tack when I see it. So, today is your last chance to buy the tack!
3 While inn holiday mode, BoPsie last night played BoP at Scrabble, and as you’re all well ware now, she was only one win off the chance of two on the pounce! She muted that while she managed to have all the large value tiles on her rack, that her BoP was sat chewing wasps! Well what did you expect when BoPsie stormed into a lead! But all was in haste and BoP landed a seven letterer in STeROiD!
Form was temporary, skill is permanent. BoPsie remains only one win away from the chance of two on the bounce.
2 Night again inn the Gym, BoP is getting his beach ready looks for 2018 sore ted! Don’t forget the live gloat inn link from Times Square!
Continue to hide the evil tack. Remember that adult shops are licensed, yet evil tack is on display at the checkout!0 -
Hello Mhags - glad you're settling back
Ooh House Elf - Comicon. My DD was there saturday and Sunday. Both days she dressed as original (as in In Rags) cinderella.
Some pleasures in the hope it will inspire me to do the work i need to do.
An interesting weekend
1. Dad was saying he wasn't so good when I arrived, but he perked up later.
2. he dismissed me to my bed before 8 o'clock. But it meant i could watch tv (rather than the darts he was watching :rotfl:) and got some work done.
3. My lovely sister turned up unexpectedly on Saturday - we didn't know each other was going to dads
4. Then all hell broke loose as my brother (who lives with dad and is his carer) came home with his twin sons. We (as in lovely sister and I) didn't know he had twin sons...:eek: They are 7  Dad went off on one - he obviously had known - and we were gobsmacked and didn't know what to do. So we talked to the boys, who were lovely (which is the pleasure). We had heard rumours on FB but as brother's estranged wife is an odd sort, (and is their mother) we ignored them. As, indeed, had he. But it seems he can't any more. Hopefully things will settle....
5. Beautiful sunset from the train home and an hour alone when I arrived
6. A day at home yesterday - set to in clearing the bedroom DD had been in and a coat of paint has been applied. The room was bright red, so it's going to take a few coats.
7. Candlelit yoga last night - i 'may' have dozed during the nidra.
8. left over takeaway curry for tea.
Right must get on - have a good remainder of day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0
