Loving all your posts. Sorry to hear of your loss houseelf
1) using the knife under the lid method and getting the 2nd jars of sour cherries open
2) working in my office - 3 screens (!) and a lovel6 view out of the window - lots of birds enjoying the warmer weather
3) taking the dogs to a close by deserted bit of land and finding the path there is still litter-free after my last litter pick earlier this month
4) meeting up with other vestry members and our interim priest in charge for an hour - good to touch base
5) then FaceTiming MrPiano. I enjoyed a glass of red, he a coke (well it was only 2 in the afternoon for him) then he played me some Bach English Suite. Lovely way to end the day

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Work continued in the allotment. Pruned and weeded the "hedge side" (one of the long sides) and bigger son put a slab under the tap, where we are going to put an old sink.
3) Went to the forest - car park and centre all sealed off. We waved to one lady, walking her dog.
4) Made a vegetarian lasagne out of tins and bits and weirdly it was one of the nicest I've ever cooked!
5) Bigger son has paid for Netflix.
6) Enjoyed GBBO.

2. Today's 1hr walk aka 3!...again....as often, mhags :-)"Kia ora &
At 11.59 pm tonight, New Zealand will move to the highest COVID-19 Alert Level of 4, and as a nation, we’ll go into self-isolation.
The reason we’re doing this is simple: It will save lives.
It’s likely that COVID-19 has already started to pass from person to person in our community - we need to break that chain.
Slowing the spread of this virus and protecting New Zealand from the worst requires every single one of us to play our part.
So, from one New Zealander to another, I’m asking you to stay at home, break the chain of transmission, and do your bit to protect others.
I know that getting on top of the spread means some big changes to the way we’re used to living. It’ll mean no visits with friends or family, and it’ll mean swapping out your regular activities, like visiting the park with your children, to activities at home or walks around the block, but that will protect others and it’ll protect you.
If you need to head out for essentials like groceries or medication, that’s okay, but please limit this to when it’s necessary.
And, if you do go out, keep as much physical distance between you and others as you can. At least two metres is the recommendation from experts and lowers the chance of the virus passing on. It’s also important that you avoid touching surfaces that other people may have touched. The virus can live on surfaces and pass on to you with contact.
Keep washing your hands and if you cough or sneeze, do it into your elbow. These may seem like small things, but the medical evidence shows that they make a big difference when it comes to stopping the transmission of COVID-19.
It’s also important to be realistic about what we face. Cases will continue to rise steeply before they get better. That does not mean that what we’re doing isn’t working.
The benefits of what we do today will not be fully felt for many days to come because of the time it takes for people to show symptoms. But, that’s exactly why we’re taking these measures now, in an effort to get ahead of the virus, and slow it down.
I know we’ve moved with huge speed and many of the actions you are being asked to take will not be easy, but they do give us the best chance as a nation to stop the spread of this virus.
I want to take a moment to share a few final messages.
I want to let you know you’re not alone. You will hear from us, and see us, daily as we guide New Zealand through this period. It won’t always be perfect. But the principles guiding us are the right ones.
I want to thank those people who will keep working over the next four weeks to ensure we all have access to the essentials we need: the groceries, fuel, power and medicines. We know this will be a stressful time for you and your family, and all of New Zealand is grateful for the work you do.
For those of you who are not working in what’s been defined as an “essential” role, that doesn’t mean you don’t have a job to do in this. Your job is to play your part in saving lives by staying home, and breaking the chain.
What we are about to do as a country has not happened in New Zealand before, these are unprecedented events here and worldwide. This is going to be an uncertain time for all of us in some ways, but we can and we will get through this together.
So please remember:
Be kind
Stay home
Break the chain
Save lives

Sorry to hear about your Rosie HouseElf
For yesterday,
Washing done and hung out early, needed a coat and the grass was still frosty but dry by the afternoon, good to see the sun.
Tidied up my herb pots, gave them a feed and pleased to see so many thriving.
An afternoon spent with the beautiful grey one, grooming her, exercising her and just being outside in the open air.
Tea was fish with a vegetable gratin, sauce made with freshly snipped chives.
We watched the Only Connect final and got some questions right!

Good morning all, pleasures for yesterday.....
Morning walk with the HT - only round the estate again but we talk all the way. We met a lady with a labrador puppy so we had a labrador things related chat with her from across the road. It's a long time since I had a lab but some things are never forgotten, in particular his ability to open the fridge and partake of the Sunday joint prior to it being cooked
Wrote my sister's and great nephew's birthday cards, wrapped presents and posted parcels. Forced myself into the car and up to the post office which is part of a mini supermarket. Posted parcel, topped up biscuit, cheese and ham supplies and the ladies were talking about someone who had been nasty to them. In the spirit of the times I gave them £20 and told them all to treat themselves to something nice at home time
I made a crochet sun face to go with the rainbow and hung that in the window too
Did some more work on the crochet blanket that I'm making for next door but one's new baby. He won't be so new by the time I can hand it over
The HT running round the house closely followed by the daft cat. After all the money spent on cat toys over the years, apparently the toy that the cat has always longed for is here. It's the plastic mesh band that held the cardboard in place around the HT's fish tank whilst it was in the box. The HT holds it in his hand with the other end trailing behind him and the cat runs after it. It's also the fastest we've seen her move for anything other than food in a long time
Take care all of you10 -
