5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3

1) woke horribly early so watched The Pale Horse
2) 'cycled' to work on the exercise bike so i could save my walk for dog walk after work - bliss
3) lunch in the garden - it's not a huge garden but so good to sit out
4) olive risotto for supper (gbf gave me some olives he found in his cupboard last week - strange to think it will be weeks till i see him again despite him being 3 miles away). never had olive risotto before - it was very nice and there's plenty for tomorrow.
5) although mrpiano is still in america, he's currently playing me Beethoven courtesy of facebook live. (waves to mrpiano)MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Pleasures for today (Tuesday)
1) Not a bad sleep, despite newly returned bigger son being a lark between 2 owls...
2) Stuck to BSD nicely.
3) Bigger son and I worked on the allotment. We had a bonfire, started shovelling the compost heap and cleared the greenhouse. There is loads to do. We went down in the car (in case we had to walk past anyone on the way) and they were queueing along the road for the butchers!
4) Did all bigger son's washing (lots) and dried most of it on the line. Very sunny day. Sat out on the patio while bigger son spuddled in his shed. Neighbours either side were out. There are no neighbours behind the house - for 35 miles!
5) Had a Wii Olympics; I was last!
Today not dissimilar to when they were both primary school age - lots of cooking, lots of washing, a few games and extra Weetabix snacks to stop them "fading away"!

1. Another free coffee from Costa.
2. Lovely sunrise.
3. Work strange. No idea what I will be doing next week had to say if any health issues and if I would be happy to change my work pattern. I would be if needed too.
4. DH cut the grass as he finished work early. He is worried as self employed. He has a small amount of work coming up but not much. The garden should look good at the end of this!
5. DS2 cooked as he was home all day.
6. I walked the last bit of the bus journey as the bus stops and waits at one point as it gets there too quickly now. I walk 2 bus stops worth and is a nice walk and a strong smell of mown grass at the moment!14 -
Morning all - i am up and a load of washing already hung out..
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Lovely walk up the lane for 50 minutes. Warm sunshine, the fields are drying, glorious
2. yummy food - teeny tiny banana on sourdough pancake breakfast, cheese and onion flatbread toastie for lunch followed by (defrosted) frozen berries and cream, fish pie from the freezer for tea with asparagus and broccoli. Our fresh is starting to run out now, so may have to venture out to see if we can top it up. salad for lunch today as that is starting to look a bit sad, with something eggy - as we've loads!
3. OH and DS did an 'essential journey' trip to Liverpool. J's housemates have left and he had some rather expensive kit up there (guitars and amps) that he didn't want to leave in an empty house. THey cleared all his stuff - so he's really left Liverpool now with more of a whimper than a bang! I am sad for him that it hasn't worked out as he wanted. But when all 'this' is over, he has the chance of a fresh start.. The real pleasure is that there wasn't as much stuff as i feared, J has changed his bedroom and will sort it today so that lots can be absorbed...
4. Supervision meeting by MS Teams.... worked quite well and was quick! It's still 'getting there' (been 'getting there' for years!). Have to restructure a chapter that was previously 'sufficient'... Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose
5. Watched the first of a series about the beginnings of football - THe English Game. Look forward to the next one.
Have a good day all - i have marking and typing. I am now set up in the bedroom, where it's lighter, i can see outside and i'm away from most of the household noise.I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
Well we’ve done the early morning walk and made it a good one. It’s rainy but the field was walkable through . Saw the duck family. DD1 is at Heathrow awaiting the next step and next flight which will only bring her halfway home and a very grumpy son setting off soon ( hmmm maybe you should be away by now son?) to get her. Hopefully home by mid-late afternoon and macaroni requested for tea. Her very, very favourite.Have a lovely day ...I’ve only hopefully another 6-8 hours on high alert stress levels! Come on home15

Mhagster
So pleased DD is almost home. That must be a huge relief.
For yesterday
1. Not only sunny but warm too
2. Phone call with my friend. Decided to call her every day as she lives alone. She seems happy with that. Told her to let me know if it gets annoying!
3. Found some good Robert Redford / Clint Eastwood films on Prime and netflix. Bridges of Madison County first I think.
4. Face time with DS; long text conversation with DD. Praise be for technology.
5. Actually started a yoga session on youtube. Might work better than just watching it through to make sure it's ok!
Getting a little worried that list may become a bit Groundhog day, and I will be able to cut and paste tomorrow. That's a good thing actually because it's making me seek out/recognise new pleasures
Happy 🌞 Wednesday everyone12 -
Welcome home son of Frith and oh the anticipation Mhags!
For yesterday,
Out to pick up horse carrots, roads quietish, mostly lorries and vans.
Made bendy veg soup and enjoyed with crackers for lunch.
Delivered the carrots and took my girlie for a walk around the fields, we even saw a kingfisher as we went along the side of the big ditch. Counts as my exercise and oh the boost to my mental health.
Forming a four metre square with fellow livery owner plus yard owners and having a good natter, easy to keep distances at the stables thankfully!
Very tired so early night and reading my book.13 -
Hello all, pleasures for yesterday.....
I indulged my inner lazy person and had a morning off from running. It was by request of the HT and I had a migraine the night before so it seemed like a good idea
The inside of my car is now clean. It's been a long time since I cleaned it and a lot of the HT's friends pass through it on a regular basis so it needed doing. That's one whole item crossed off my "to do list"
Started cleaning the garden furniture. It's cast aluminium so it doesn't rust but it does turn a bit green in winter because of constant rain. It comes up well after cleaning though.
Our 11 year old cat has hated on sight every other cat that she's ever met, including the one that we bought as a friend for her. The friend died at the end of 2018 and she's been an "only cat" ever since. Yesterday the 3 legged cat from over the back came into our garden and instead of growling our cat went and sniffed her and sat with her. They meowed gently at each other then took turns to follow each other round our garden. I was so amazed and pleased that I called the HT to come and see.
I'm also enjoying the sunshine. Being able to be in the garden is lovely and I shouted hello to 2 of my neighbours yesterday, one in the front and one in the back.
Mhags I'm so pleased that your daughter has made it to Heathrow. As long as she's on this island somewhere she can be collected and fetched home if travel plans go astray.
Stay safe all of you11 -
