Here is the River Severn. It has risen 3 metres to overflow, another to get across the grass then 1.5 metres (my shoulder height) up the flood defences! They thought it would breach the defences last night.

Mhagster hope Haggis is ok my dog ate a chicken bone and sicked it up eventually but don't know about a whole carcass xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.13 -
PK thinking of you.
Work survived it! A couple of different people in and very different atmosphere.
1. It wasn't raining when I had an enforced walk as a road was closed to get to my car from the bus. road wasn't closed at any point.
2. Driving up my road -a narrow lane lots of cars coming in the other direction and the look on some of their faces when I had pulled over and they had to get their cars dirty in the mud at the passing places.
3. Text conversation with a friend.
4. Used up food that needed eating for tea. I need to save money so I can leave work earlier rather than later.
5. Finished my book.15 -
Sorry to hear about your little one PK, the love you have for your animals is so obvious from your posts.
Oh Haggis.
Belated Happy Birthday wishes Paulie.
For yesterday,
An item purchased through Ebay arrived and it was exactly what I needed.
The beautiful grey one worked well for her Mum then swapped blackberry treats for kisses.
A bright sunny morning so a pleasure to be outside.
Saw our solitary buzzard sitting high up in the beech trees, suspect he’s one of the juveniles from last year’s brood trying to establish his own territory.
Suffering a bit with sinus headache so early night and fell asleep straight away.

Just lost a post! First time. Will in future do a cut and paste job!
How lucky to see buzzards Lainey. Still cannot feed the birds due to the rat situation. I miss the sparrows.
Keep on keeping on VJ's Mum.
Sorry to hear sad news PK. I wish all animals were as well cared for. Ditto Haggis. A whole chicken. I bet he thought it was his birthday. You must be a fortune at the vets Mhags.
Wondering how you are DforV?
My 5,
Work continuing to be a pleasure.
Spring bulbs. Love them.
A week in Italy planned with my lovely sister.
A break today from the constant rain. I hope the flooding subsides for anyone affected.
A new spring coat. First purchase this year. I hate winter clothes.

Good afternoon Peeps,
I think I have lost posts too, Juliette. Unless I am just imagining writing replies, and not actually posting them. 🤪 This is entirely possible!Recent pleasures.....
1. Free O2 Caffè Nero.
2. A trip to Home sense after dropping DD to an audition. I know it is just TKMAXX without the clothes, but it is nice to look at all the pretty things......and it was close by.
3. Binge watching the Split.
4. Pie and mash for tea. Just what was needed on a cold winters night.
5. Emma........Bill Nighe had very few lines, but the best part!Mhags : I hope you have better luck than us with the vets.......£770 for doggy operation yesterday. (No insurance, long story). Then I came home and the oven door exploded......replacement door will be £230........So, £1000 day 😩In a world where you can be anything, be kind. (Caroline Flack)
We have more in common than that which divides us. (Jo Cox)11 -
The grandpickles wanted to come to visit us here rather than meet out at a museum, so they did!
Lovely time and lunch out at the garden centre , a lovely look round, much chatting and buying them all (including mum) a plant to take home.
Playing here and reading multitudinous books with the Oreo child who really is a blessing.
All is now put away and tidy and calm.
The rain has stopped, the sky is blue and the sun is shining.....but it's gone really chilly too!

I've had a tumble dryer I got to hate more and more for over 5 years. It was one of the first more affordable heat pump tumble dryers but had some serious design faults (there was a fluff filter in the bottom that kepf falling off its holder so was totally ineffective and a fan hidden away that I had to go up to the elbows to try and remove fluff from, god knows how it was ever released for sale. Anyway it finally stopped working well. So I've bought a new one, cost less, dries more (weight wise) and gets the clothes even more crease free than the other one did. So at long last that irritation is gone. Small thing but makes me smile a little more. Could have done without having to pay for it lol.
Yesterday my 13 year old (he has ASD) was a bit anxious so we spent the whole day in the living room watching TV, having cuddles, tickles and lots of laughter (normally he's in his bedroom on his pc). He slept well (we have a very comfortable reclining sofa for this purpose) so it must have done some good and lot of lovely moments all day.10 -
Greetings from deepest Wales (though not quite deep enough yet - an hour to go). Pleasures for yesterday
1. Was awake early so had a soak in the bath with the midwives
2. cracking on with marking (nearly done) and this dratted (I could say a LOT stronger... keep going you fool, keep going) PhD
3. DS let me edit his dissertation literature review.
4. baked some sourdough bread
5. Had salmon for tea
and today
1. good walk to and from stations - though it is really cold and wet out
2. more marking and working on the train
3. Teaching was easy and went ok.
4. (anticipated) arriving in ICT and knowing the shop is only over the road
5. (anticipated) gin and the telly
Have a good evening all...
I wanna be in the room where it happens11 -
Hello. Hurrah! To work being done for the week! I felt because I’d done an extra couple of shifts and then popping in for party prep that I’d never been away however I’m done! I enjoy my two days. It’s hard work. It’s tiring. I ache afterwards. But it’s two days pay which is enough for me as long as I live simply. I enjoy working with the girls that I do on these two days and it’s been good tips both days ( which always makes for a better day !)
Today I made quiche for the first time in ages. We are going to be selling afternoon teas at some point so I’d set up a photo shoot! And we all shared it afterwards. Very yummy! As I was scoffing the chocolate mousse then remembered I’m not eating sugar! Oops! Then did a little rearranging of gift stock at end of shift which I always enjoy. So all in all a decent day.
DD2 not very well. So I’m glad I’m done and can look after her. She’s signed off work.Son had some positive-ish news for a job he applied for overseas. They want to chat.Haggis Dog! Well! He’s still here. Bones have yet to be ‘seen’ we are all on bone watch. Vets advice was to watch and wait. Perhaps the two socks he’d consumed softened the blow of bones in his intestines! He’s had more lives than a blooming cat!10
