Good to hear that HWK is home.

    Wednesday pleasures,

Dull day to start then the sun came out at 9am and it stayed nice.

Over to see equine girlie, she fell asleep in the sun as I groomed and trimmed her legs, that just about wiped me out so just took her for a walk & graze in hand, she is getting the week off as well.

Changed the sheets and put the heavier winter eiderdown on as it’s been a tad colder the last couple of nights.

Lots of little holes and discarded walnut shells in our lawn, Mr Squirrel has been busy.

Meatball and gnocchi bake for tea followed by Doc Martin.
  • We both slept last night, feel more like me this morning!

My lovely and supportive friend who not only has been transport for us to GP surgery and hospital and home again but rang to see if we needed shopping today and also to say she will be transport if we need to go anywhere medical in the future.

The sun is shining but it is cold so we've got the heating on and getting washed and dressed in warm rooms is the ultimate in pleasure.

Being able to sort out the house which was in need of a vacuum while HWK was in the shower so I don't need to disturb him now he's settled in his chair.

The naughty cheesy chips I got for the quickest lunch I could think of yesterday before dashing straight from work to pick him up from the hospital definitely naughty but NICE!

    1. Relatively productive day yesterday, working from home. Lots done for work and managed to get bits and bobs around the house done too!
    2. Reaaaally good sleeps lately. I seem to have adjusted to my ever growing bump (for now) and we've been tucked up by 9.30 most nights.
    3. Spaghetti bolognese and garlic bread for supper last night. Yummy, went down well with all.
    4. Neighbour popped round last night for a natter - well, she wanted to colour match some paint swatches to an armchair I have that she's now ordered. Nice bit of social interaction after being home alone all day! She also congratulated me on my neat bump and everything else staying the same size, which made me feel good...long may it stay that way.
    5. Right now the carpet fitter is upstairs! After 4 years of bare floorboards we're getting fancy carpet! So excited!
  • 1 DH serviced my car and did some work to it saving us some money.

2 I strimmed and mowed the garden, will it be the last for a while who knows? Planted some snowdrops around the birdbath. A real pleasure to see when it’s done, also restocked the bird grub, we are helping feed a squirrel that looks a little in trouble, but is happily snaffling food.

    3 I’ve just finished making a shepherds pie, it’s DH’s favourite for a treat.

4 I’m reading and writing, hmm that sounds a bit like I’m at school, reading for inspiration and writing, as they say everyone has a book and I would like to have at least tried, I would love to achieve it.

5 Cosy must admit the heating has come on.

strange day, 32nd wedding anniversary with the legal separation ready at the solicitor's for me to sign tomorrow. 5 good things
    1) beautiful sunny morning. got the washing done and out and the lawn raked (it's a small lawn!) and leaves put in brown bin before work!
    2) very nice hm bol and pasta for lunch
    3) lift home (by which time it had just started to rain so very happy about that)
    4) washing not too damp so finished off in the tumble drier which means the towel will be fluffy
    5) reminiscing with friends about summer's trip to Geneva.

Managed to crick my back yesterday (and my ribs!) so spent most of the day lying very flat.

    Pleasures for today (Thursday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Back 95% better.

    3) Did various bits of housework and planted some cyclamen and violas that I bought the other day.

    4) Hens OK.

    5) My brother came round to play Mario Kart.

    6) Tickets for Manchester United arrived!

Middle of the night! DD2 has just been very sick...similar to her brother but at least she made the toilet! If it’s not the dog it’s them.

Thursday was spent at work all day. However I’ve negotiated an extra day off every second week so I will be 3 hours less pay but one full day better off in time.

Tips were okay considering we weren’t crazy busy.

Met a friend in supermarket. Chatter.

I had the car...or else I’d have been soaked. That rain!

In, shower, quick eat, out. Flower workshop and home with a beautiful display. Fabulous evening and my treat to me.

    Frith look after your back.

    1. Work fine fine to working at a satellite clinic and working with a friend.

    2. DS1 has let the chickens out when he arrived home. He thought about something else which is good.

    3. DS2 cooked a pasta dish for tea. It was good.

    4. Flowers still looking good.

    5. Lot candles in the evening.

    6. Went to local pub for a drink with DH and DS1. Trying to encourage DS1 to go out more even if only meeting a friend for a drink after work. He seems slightly more on board with it than previously.

    Thursday pleasures,

Blowy and sunny so washed bedding dried outside.

Popped out to farm shop and restocked on meat, also picked up some eggs from lady down the road.

DSIL picked me up and we went off cathedral city, had a good mooch around the CS’s and other shops.

The main purpose of visit was an afternoon tea, a birthday treat for her, very enjoyable and came home with box of uneaten cakes, must admit the scones were the best I’ve tasted since my DM’s.

My beloved’s face when he looked in box and was told he could have whatever he wanted.

    Pleasures yesterday -

Lie in after two busy days at work, much needed.

Dog had her beauty parlour treatment, she now looks and smells gorgeous.

Second hand copy of a Shirley Goode book arrived yesterday in the post,, five days earlier than estimated.

Relaxing massage and reflexology treatment, just what I needed.

Clean sheets on the bed last night, always a luxury and a pleasure.

There will be lots more pleasures over the next week, we (that's me, my son and the dog) are off to the Lake District on holiday today.
