Can see why you did a double take & wouldn’t fancy that in my eggy bread!

    Bit late but Sunday pleasures,

Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge.

Hollow-legged ones round for lunch and they arrived on time with no signs of a hangover, win win :rotfl:

All food eaten and enjoyed, especially the strawberry crumble with clotted cream.

Small dog always gets a bit of leftovers after our main meal, picked her bowl up and put three bits of pasta in it and then proceeded to put the pasta dish on the floor and left hers on the side, by the time I thought about what I’d done the whole lot had gone! There’s been no ill effects so far but she’s on short rations after all those carbs.

Might have watched a cricket match.......
  • I may have given the impression the other day that I was not like inn the cricket. Not often BoP is [STRIKE]wrong[/STRIKE] correctomundo, but I was right! I will mention it! Get in, kangaroos go home! There said it, done it!

Has looked at the film of Frith Lad the Elder. Another one has put good to our world.

Done the yard this weakened, weed killed the front and the plaza, Raffles is on his hot tin roof at neighbores. Fixed leek inn the bath and it is birthday time as I get the ducks back inn as well!

Watched the river of flixnet last night, Trattoria set in San Francisco. Very good Dramedy!

Now offs to the chip shop and some munch. Not often BoP gets some inn, but here goes on Blank Hols MonDae!

That is what you wanted to know in your version of the Life of BoP!

A fool will only give you reason

    Bedtime.

It's been a pleasant day off work. Hurrah!

Down at allotment for 7.30am. Just me and the dog. Picked 1 huge marrow and 10 courgettes. A bunch of sweetpeas and picked some blackberries and herbs.

Dropped them off at work for my colleague, work was ever so slightly crazy busy so stayed and helped for 10 minutes but dog was in the car and I was in muddy jeans and boots!

Home. Washings out. Hoovered. Cleaned downstairs loo. Somehow cleaners don't have time to do this and I ain't paying for an extra hour to fit it in!

Intention was to paint...I'm easily swayed. DD2 and friend returned home from a night away, friends car was in our drive. Sat and chatted with them. Then niece and baby appeared so sat and chatted with them thinking lovely to see you but I need to paint garden fence before the rain returns!

Painted. I get bored very easily painting ....especially when the wood sooks up all the paint and you can hardly see it!

Tidied planters out front, took seed pods off sweet peas. Planted my RTC chrysanthemums.

Shower then out for remedial back massage and ooh ah ow! Trying to go once a fortnight and it's really helped my back pain ( though I ache in different places for a couple of days after!)

Came home and snoozed upright on sofa! Was only sitting down for 5 minutes! 45 minutes later....

Lasagne for tea with the last of the allotment potatoes and peas and some salad.

Out in garden lifting out nasturtium plants. Kind of past their best but shall keep some for the bees. Facing a losing battle trying to pick seeds up! Loads of 'em! I'm just scared the dog eats them! Looks much tidier without them. They were rather crazy and kind of blocked other plants from view. Not bad for a 29p pack of seeds!

Picked another big bunch of sweet peas. They always remind me of my in laws who always had a beautiful display every summer and were always very generous in giving big bunches away to me when we went over. Wrapped in wet newspaper. I fill jam jars with them and have them dotted about downstairs. Have also been picking lavender to dry out. Lavender reminds me of my grandparents who had a huge bush at the front gate, I had cuttings in our very first garden. So I've planted lots of lavender this year.

Watched a bit of Corrie as I pottered around folding washing and doing dishes .

    Pleasures for today (Monday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Did very little all day as it was so hot.

    3) Hens well and lots of courgettes nearly ready and probably 100 tomato flowers! Not sure why the tomatoes are so late.

    4) Had a half hearted tidy up.

    5) My brother came round for board games.

    6) Salmon for tea.

    7) Bigger son went to the pub with MrN's son5.

    8) Had to laugh just now because sons were having a "who is the taller" stretch so I said "Stand under the kitchen door frame and I can see who is the tallest". They both forced themselves under the doorway, facing me, not sideways on! I explained they would both fit in the doorway at the same time if they faced sideways and they both tried to turn at once and got jammed!

    Good morning Chums,

    Yesterday

    1. What a beautiful day :)

    2. Got up early, opened all the doors, and started ironing.

    3. Trip to Leicester to see the Ladybird Art exhibition before it ends. Spent happy time reliving our childhoods. I have a lasting memory of DH and 2 friends sitting on a bench, engrossed in a Ladybird book each, instead of their phones :rotfl:

Lovely exhibition. The artists were really interesting. The artwork is beautiful, and doesn't 'dumb down' for children. The books are a social history of the time. We may have bought a few in the gift shop :o

    3. Lunch at 'The Merchant of Venice'. (Friends are off for an Italian adventure in September). So lots of discussion of their plans.

    4. We enjoyed our walk through Leicester. (Who knew there was a 200 year old promenade?). Leicester Museum is small, but perfectly formed, so we changed our plan to go to a NT in the afternoon, and went back to explore the rest of the museum......DH May have bought more Ladybird books :rotfl:

    5. Roast dinner for tea. Everyone was home, so we sat round the table.

    6. Tried to make banana bread to use up squished bananas, but as usual, crisp crust and soggy in the middle. I will have to eat it with butter.......It tastes nice, but no one else will touch it :rotfl:

    8. Peaky Blinders

    Have a lovely day :)

    Monday pleasures,

Another scorchio day so over the yard early to exercise the beautiful grey one in the relative cool of the morning, mind it was 25 degrees by 10am.

Home and a late breakfast of balsamic mushies on toast.

It was hot, really hot so a day of closing curtains / windows then opening them again as the sun moved around the house and humans plus dog tried to stay cool.

Sitting out in the garden to watch the sunset and listening to the sparrows chattering away in the hedge as they settled down to roost.

When I let small dog out for her final ablutions the hedgehog was having a drink at the dish of water left out for that reason.

    Yesterday's pleasures:

    1) Two walks, bumped into two friends on the second. Appreciative of having a lovely park with a river on our doorstep. Loved watching the ducklings grow this summer.
    2) During the walks we go past the new house. The road is so, so quiet. And I hope it all goes through soon so I can enjoy coffee at the bottom of my garden watching people tend their allotments.
    3) Lovely lunch. I put out bread with oil and vinegar, salad, veggie sausages, olives, beetroot, hummus, crisps, biscuits and fruit. We snacked and chatted under the parasol and played 'heads up' and charades. Lots of fun.
    4) Didn't watch any telly yesterday except for one Great British Menu! This is unusual lately as I've been so lethargic due to pregnancy I haven't done much else. But no, we walked, talked, read, listened to music and played games.
    5) Sitting under the parasol, cold (non-alcoholic!) beer in hand, book in the other, thinking "this is the life!"

    Today's pleasures (already!)

    1) Working from home and spending the first couple of hours in the garden under the parasol.
    2) Have made a list and am feeling confident about catching up
    3) Laundry is drying in minutes in this weather - pretty sure I can get to the bottom of the basket today. And it smells lush after hanging in the breeze
    4) Watching the cats stretched out beside me in the sun
    5) Butterflies fluttering in the garden, foetus fluttering in utero!
  • You should see the stokeser inn the Boiler Room this day!

Off agains for another weak at the mill and … Less said the better!

Packed off with a lunch box toms, cucumbers, pepper and onion. Two satsumas today with strawbs and berries.

Raffles did us all well over the blank holiday and is now resting after all his work.

    PM2DD. Tinpot tonight!

Now that was short from your version inn the Life of BoP!

Try it again with some guts!
