Quick pleasures for today as I've gone tired!

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Still enjoying sitting/lying dramatically on the "new" sofa!

    3) Hens OK.

    4) Cleaned the stairs and the bathroom. Load of washing done.

    5) Took the sofa cushions to the tip then popped in to Tesco.

    6) Made a roast dinner pie for tea (LO roast dinner with a puff pastry lid - always a favourite here).

    7) My brother came round and played board games with me and smaller son (a rare participant) so I cooked a tray of brownies.

    8) Nice and cool tonight after being so hot for too long.

    1. Chat with old friend at work. We see each other about once a year if that.

    2. Worked with a colleague who I like so work went ok. Volunteered to work a couple of Saturday's. It will be double time so more money to save to retire earlier!!

    3. Text from a friend cheered me up.

    4. Full house as DS2 girlfriend was here too.

    5. Managed to sell some tickets as we can't go to an event.

    Good Morning Peeps,

Frith Sofa sounds marvellous. Have you made a decision about the job?

    Wednesday

    1. Used £5 off £25 voucher in Lidl. Came home with bags of food. :D

    2. Made ramen noodle soup for lunch. (From a kit, not BoP approved, but very nice).

    3. Emptied a cupboard. Moved the cupboard. Didn't like it. Moved cupboard back. Put all the stuff back.

The pleasure being, that it has been sorted and tidied, and some bits have gone into the charity bag. (Including 3 bags :j).

    4. Moved a shelf. Very pleased with it's new home :j

    5. DS1 birthday meal at local Hilton, using Groupon Voucher. The food was excellent, but the venue lacked a bit of atmosphere, and a view, and the waitress was not happy in her work :rotfl: We made our own fun :D

    Thursday

    1. Met a friend for coffee. Caught up on all our summer adventures, children, life etc. Then went for a quick dash to our favourite charity shops.

    2. 6 things from the charity shop......3 may be going back!

    3. Trip to IKEA with DH to buy storage for extension. 3 hours later........we have a good solution.

    4. Free coffee in IKEA was necessary.

    5. BBQ ribs from Lidl was a quick and tasty tea, after hours of looking at cupboards.

    Have a lovely day :)

I meant to say ( I always start with good intent !) house elf your travels sounded amazing!

I hear you about emptying a cupboard ...we started the 'sort out the spare room' task on Wednesday and was too knacked after work last night to do anything. But there's a huge pile of stuff in the middle of the room floor that certainly wasn't there before! Waaaah! Think that will be an afternoon job as its to lash with rain.

MAndM90 hope survey goes well and everything ticks along nicely and you can exchange. Think it's still a different system in Scotland to England. But still stressy all the same! We moved into a big old house when I was 4 months pregnant with DD1.

Have a lovely day! We have severe rain warnings here today but I'm just glad the allotment is getting a decent drink!

As always many thoughts are with Sue and her DH.
Sounds like a good MIL to have MandM

    Thursday pleasures,

Am now getting into the habit of making bread dough first thing and can get it mixed & kneaded in 15 mins to prove whilst I do other things, connects me to my DM who always made her own.

Visit to a PO to return parcel and found a perfect birthday card for a pal.

Over to the yard and a meet up with fellow OldStyler, my princess pony lapped up all the extra attention and batted her long eyelashes to full effect.

Evening walk with Capt S and small dog, cracking sunset.

A cooler night so could snuggle down under blanket.

    Good morning folks.

Pleasures yesterday - I was on nights Tuesday and Wednesday so getting to Thursday evening knowing I didn't have to schlepp out to another shift was sheer joy.

Simple dinner of jacket potatoes with grated cheese and fresh chives from the garden, sausages, poached eggs and baked beans. Yogurt and a nice bar of chocolate for dessert (shared with son, I'm not that much of a pig)

Getting some pruning of shrubs done in the afternoon, partly because they were threatening to go a bit feral but also because it's garden bin collection day today, and as I pay for garden bin collections I am jolly well putting my bin out.

Lovely warm shower after dinner - after putting clean linen on the bed, so I had the pleasure of clean sheets last night.

Watching a film on a Netflix - Kingsman, with Colin Firth in it. A good old James-Bond-ish spy romp with humour, action and even more snazzy gadgets.

Edited to add - I also made a start on my orange brandy. A net of reduced price mandarins - scrape the zest into a Kilner jar, add a level dessert spoonful of sugar, cover with brandy, seal and shake it. As I get oranges (of whatever type) I will repeat the process until the jar is full. It will be double strained into small sterilised bottles in early December. Heavenly, and good for presents.
One life - your life - live it!
  • HWK has gone fishing so a day on my own for a change.

Being able to do the house top to bottom, get the washing done and out and hopefully ironed later on too.

A lovely soak in the bath, luxury!

Time to do nothing if that's what I decide or time to do something just for me, priceless!

Hopping on the bathroom scales this morning for the first time in a while and the relief of being only fractionally up weight wise on what I was when we arrived here last summer BUT time to do something to remove the fraction I think!
  • Happy Birthdday Ms LW!
Nows as yous are awares that BoP does not like the likes of social workers, educationalits, humane remains and software types, then when one does wrong it should ne reported! Well one from the humane remains pool should be removed. And yours BoP is tellings yous why! Wells I has another stoker who is on fire for a job, so I need to engage him inn the boiler room! Grate! So I get a new shovel and bits ready and bring him into the sweat house as I look into the wheel house. Blow me socks, but humane remains has bin talking to said stoker and they has persuaded him he is better off not being here!

Now if one put a box of lego bricks, a plan and a table into a room and invites these four types to build a construction, we could waste a good hour of everyones life live on the tube of yours!

Day T minus Twenty. Before then BoP will has his Jenny tested and reset!

    Now on other BoP matters!

Again last evening we has the cheesed off mushroom with brewed chilli. Very nice with a glasses of the wobblefizz!

Tonite BoP is inn town on big London train and will has himsen a Thai, and another glasses of wobbleade. Then tomorrow is scran at Vets Breakfest, last month we has the sixty!

That’s bees it for your verions of the Life of BoP

Tomorrow is waiting for your done today!

    My recent 5,
A lovely trip to Vienna, I have always longed to visit and it did not disappoint.
My own bed and pillow. Complete with two happy cats.
The garden was well watered by frequent showers, and although beginning to fade a little still can see bees and butterflies.
Work had been ticking over so not too much on my desk.
    It is Friday!

The orange brandy sounds good Nargle. Have you done any other fruits? Does the container need to be ceramic?
