Sorry, DD - big birthday wishes were part of it.
Sounds like lots of loveliness to offset changes.
Well done-and as much Mother Julian as you need at certain moments.

Hope you've had a lovely birthday dinner DD

Woke up with a very nauseous tummy at 5am. Felt very yukky for a couple of hours but it didn't come to anything so went to work.

    In...work...out.

DD2 started back at college today.

Met neighbour in T so he kindly gave me a lift home! ( I was cheeky and asked:))

    Quick doggy walk.

    Dozed off after my shower.

Washing out , still a bit damp when I brought it in.

Out in garden pottering around listened to a podcast , which I should probably do more often. Have probably picked up at least a thousand nasturtium seeds. Would probably just leave them be if I didn't have a Labrador who eats anything and everything! Planted rest of RTC chrysanthemums...thinking I sure I planted stuff there ...think it's been munched on.

Watched GBBO whilst doing dishes and hanging washing on clothes horse . But did laugh at the 'furry garden' cake!

    Chicken for tea.

Friends daughter popped in to sell raffle tickets and was given a pot of jam to take home!

Had intended to give a friend our spare bed. Which appears to be broken! Not sure which Australian guest broke it? It had been given to me when I first moved back as a short term thing so didn't owe me any favours but I want to make room a dressing room /study rather than a bedroom! Felt a bit foolish texting friend to say sorry it's broken!

Think we are back to rain again but watered the garden just incase it doesn't happen!

    Happy birthday, DD!

Pleasures for today (Tuesday). A funny sort of day...

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Bigger son went to college again to try and take the exams he missed but (again) was turned away as they weren't organised. :-/ This time he cycled the 12 miles there, which was annoying. He had a nice day after that, cycling around with his friend.

    3) Smaller son and I went to Sainsburys and got some petrol.

    4) Hens OK.

    5) Saw some Japanese Knotweed across the road from the house. There is a clump about 500m away and other bits have been treated by the council. Went to see my neighbour about it (2 doors away) and we ended up having a chat then went out to see the JK and it is new, fresh lilac stems! It's had an enormous growth spurt after a few trees were taken down by the roadside.

    6) Had a phone call and I've got a job. It's been quite a long time since the interview so I had almost forgotten about it! I don't know whether to take it or not as the college is run by a big company in the north east so the HR person couldn't tell me anything at all about my hours or when I would start. Can't get hold of my old boss to give me a reference as it is the school holidays and I have 4 days left to do that now. Had 7 emails about the DBS check etc and waded through all that online to find that I am supposed to start on the 3rd! But there is no way the paperwork will have gone through by then.

    7) Bigger son and I went to look at an Ebay sofa and it is being delivered tomorrow! It is gold (!) and perhaps not the newest style but our sofa was bought 10 years ago from the British Heart Foundation and the bottom is literally falling out of it (you can see the springs and foam from the side!) Bigger son also made holes in the cushion a few years ago by putting a cardboard box on it and seeing what it would be like to be a knife thrower... £30 and the man will bring it up to us (5 miles).

    8) Very tired today so had a night of TV watching - GBBO, the SU2C swim programme then Holby City.

Good Morning, and a Happy Birthday to DD :bdaycake:_party_

    Yesterday

    1. Dump run. Garden looks better for it.

    2. Shopping with coupons, cashback and collecting points. Made DH join me for a dash to Coop and Sains, which doubles the booty :rotfl:

    3. Last Free Tuesday Caffè Nero coffee before back to work next week.

    4. Emptied some big pots to move, and harvested a surprise crop of new potatoes, which I had forgotten about :D

    5. Went to see Once Upon a Time in Hollywood with Meerkat Movies. I was bumbling along, enjoying the story, the colours, the music, until the end..... DS2 thought it was hilarious..... 'It's Tarrentino Mum.....why do you think it was an 18?'.....I forgot it was an 18, because he is only just 18, and we haven't been to an 18 film with him before.... :o That is my excuse :o .....anyway, we enjoyed it!

    Have a lovely day :)

    Tuesday pleasures,

Stupidly hot again so felt like I was wading through treacle at times and everything seemed to be done at slower pace.

Into horsey town and enjoyed the air-conditioning in the emporium for a while.

Sorted out a fair bit of admin , only thing left is the dreaded car insurance but am steeling myself to do.

Fish and fennel in white sauce was dug out from freezer for an easy tea.

Watched GBBO followed by final episode of Keeping Faith.
  • PM2DD. Seems that our new man Waterfall who is cup tied played well last nite. On Bury, good riddance or bad management? I do not recall their fans complaining when they overspent? Or did they larf when both the Hatters and the Mariners were in the Conference? Makes me glad that although Grimsby had the misfortune to use the Newell, we are still a solvent and viable club.
Some of farcicalbuck are saying other clubs should pay a levy so they can continue to overspend?

PSPM2DD. Wes still inn the Tinpot, tonite the Gimps will be ..
PPSPM2DD OK, cake time for DD. As BoP is kind and considerate I will not post your age in a public forum! ooops it is not noted!

PM2& Again you need to box up yous putah and be done with it. No do as BoP. Rite it in word, copy to notepad, then copy and past from there, do not rite direct into the parish!

Now on to other BoP Matters of the Day!

MHgs and LT That baking is not proper food! Oh look, the Disney cake cook buck is out. It will cost £400. BoP would spent eight FryDays on the lash for that! AVOID. Learn your cookeries skills off BoP.

    Marrows, just an oversized cucumber!

    And relax.

BoP is at mill and is doing his best, but new foreman has hit the ground and … His suggestion that I train up another stoker and move into the wheelhouse has fallen flat as customer for my boiler has said it is me or damp it down. In other words, hard cheese foreman!

Rite, that is that sore ted.

Now inn again the packed luncheon bow is the same as usual! Gym tonite as well.

Well that is your version of the Life of BoP inn turmoil delivered.

Day 21. BoPsie has her appointment tomorrow. Jenny has her tuning day in a couple of weaks.

That bees yous lot for BoP Life today!
Is the one over the road there for you!

A quick hello from me as I am on night shift tonight. Pleasures over past few days too many to list, but include weekend spent down in Buckinghamshire with family (son and dog also came). Fab house and garden, fab weather, fab food, fab family. 213 mile journey both ways mainly motorways but very easy, no hold ups. Home sweet home on return. More foraged blackberries, white currants and plums. Fantastic storm seen through windows at work last night, the hot spell is finally broken. Nature is wonderful!

mandm90 did you get your new house stuff sorted?

Upstairs is an absolute guddle. Moving stuff around. Trying to get broken bed outside was laughable ( much bad language but no scraping the wallpaper on staircase! )

To my son...don't tell me I can't! I can! We did!

Work. Very busy. Happy to finish. Sat with friends who were in for lunch for half an hour.

Home. Shower. Snooze. I do think the snooze is restorative but also a waste of time. But wouldn't have been doing anything in that time? It doesn't detract from a bad nights sleep either. Hmmmm. Don't want it to be a habit!

Daughters Australian friend messaged and asked if she can come and visit in a few weeks...sure...but I've just chucked the bed out the back door! It will be lovely to see her.

Niece is going to take bedside tables away. They were passed on to me by a friend when I'd moved back.

Went to allotment . Did some weeding and watering. Admired the big pumpkin. Forgot to pick sweetpeas so the bees and butterflies can enjoy them longer.

Made mince for tea with hidden courgettes. RTC chocolate cake for pud.
