PM2DD. Still remember the Millwall mini bus on the M1 near Luton with the fan hanging out of it trying to get on our coach! We played West ham, but had beaten Millwall a couple of Saturdays before!
As expressed yesterdays that BoP was inn wobbleade emporium last eve. Well, as yous aware BoP has posted most of this year about looking after the pennies and noting that those inn their 18-19 plate cars have no money! And with Blank Hols weakened coming up, and no pay till next FryDay, you’ve guessed it! So as BoP purchased his lubrication, the lady from the nice plated car of Germanic extraction, 18 plate was buying her glass, and food. Thirst card, oops! Second card, double oops! Third card worked! As she did not take a receipt, I can guess why there was such a panic. No worries dear, no one noticed! Just how many are one mouthful away this weakened from?
Day 16. No quacks today. BoP in his new hearing lug things can hear nothing inn the background, as it is all cancelled out.
Now ifs yous no mind, I am going to check the cricket, so on with your days in your way!
And you think you had it hard, eh?0 -
Haven't posted on this thread for over a year due to ill health and a nasty fracture. Hoping I can keep going now I've (re)started.
1. Enjoying some rare sunshine today and looking forward to a couple f sunny days over the weekend.
2. Went through wardrobe, drawers and still to be folded laundry and have two big bags for donation and one of things to be altered or upcycled.
3. Booked in for an upcycling class next week. I've lots of ideas but need some help with the technical bits. Also haven't sewn for almost 30 years! So grateful to have found a (cheap at £3 a week) class to go to.
4. Enjoying lots of tap water now OH has fitted a little water filter. It's not bad as such just a bit chloriney so that's now gone and tastes lovely.
5. Took my shopping trolley out for its maiden run. So much easier than lugging bags around. It's a nice blue and pink floral Hoppa, bought brand new in local charity shop for a tenner. I'd already priced them locally at £20+ so am delighted with the saving and usefulness
wishing all of us a good OS day!Looking ahead0 -
My cold is better today and I am no longer a waterfall.....sadly HWK is as he's a day behind me! am feeling human again.
Cooler and fresher here today and nice to have long sleeves on.
Mushroom soup which is simmering away on the stove to have for lunch for a couple of days to use up some mushrooms gone just past their best, smells delicious.
The borders in the garden are looking really pretty, we planted a culinary herb border when we'd been here a few months and that's been lovely for the summer and the flower border has asters and Michaelmas Daisies blooming along with a beautiful little patio rose that DD1 bought me for Christmas and that I planted out.
Finding a 4 tier seed sprouter in the shop yesterday along with a bunny rabbit night light for the nursery bedroom here for £1 the two, fantastic.0 -
Hugs, ampersand. I hope it all sorts itself soon.
Hoorah, mrs LW on the feeling better bit. I have a bit of a cough etc. too
Pleasures since Monday
1. Kicking not as bad as it can be. Two chapters are "sufficient". As I have been saying to all who will listen "sufficient will suffice"
2. Nice grub at home, cheesey beany yacket jackets and a prawn korma using left over and frozen takeaway korma sauce.
3. DD is still unwell but well enough to go into work. I think her virus is having a last hurrah, before clearing off
4. Caught up with long lost family, what happened next
5. washing dried on the line and my sopping wet tent is now dried and stored until next time.
Have a nice day all - I am off to ICT and to see OH for the first time in two weeks...I wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Wild and wet here.
Walk to & from work was dry.
Washing hung out at 6am was dry.
Work was alright. In work out.
Then just got home and washing in when down came the rain! And whhhoooo blew the wind!
New ordered this morning Hoover arrived thus afternoon. It's very quiet! May be because the one I had was broken and exceptionally noisy but this is very quiet! However it's working!
Cleaner was in so was all nice and tidy until Haggis decided to munch all the cardboard casing that was round the Hoover!
Couple of dog walks in between the showers.
Made meatballs for tea. nephew in law had his tea here .
Read for a bit. The book had ended up under my bed and was next to my box of love letters from OH ( we had a few boxes each we wrote a lot to each other!) so had a wee read through some of them and a wee cry. So often I just can't quite believe he's not here. Like everyday! And I know he died and I know he's not here but so much is the same whilst everything is different. Miss him miss him miss him!
Anyway I then sat on sofa and read the book I'd been looking for ( it had obviously slipped off my bed) curled up with a dog beside me.
Little snuggles with baby boy when they came to get their dad. Got a new to me high chair last night which is in perfect condition and suitable for a smaller baby. So he shall join us at the table tomorrow night.0 -
Pleasures for today (Thursday)
1) Good to get up after a very short sleep.
2) Bigger son drove me to town to get smaller son's GCSE results. No passes, sadly, but still enough 3s to go to college.
3) Worked for a while on the allotment. Hens well.
4) Smaller son's disabled bus pass arrived! It promised much, but delivers little... it says "Nationwide free bus travel" - how lovely. Read on and it means "Just England" which means we can't travel west at all! And only after 9.30am so he can't actually use it to get to college...
5) Bigger son has been out all day with different sets of friends.
6) Jacket potatoes for tea which is something I only make about twice a year. Was quite nice.
7) In bed now and will watch television for a bit.
8) My mum dropped off a large Toblerone for each son. We can't have a "congratulations on passing your GCSEs" thing but we can have a "both off to college" celebration. Thinking of going to ICT and the CAT next week, VJsmum.
College enrolment tomorrow. New TA will be poised in the entrance to "encourage" smaller son to do what is is supposed to.0 -
Ggrrr on the bus pass Frith but will keep everything crossed for enrolment this morning.
Thursday pleasures,
That it was thursday! All Wednesday I had been thinking that it was Friday the following day so felt like have been gifted more time.
Drove out to nearby village as had found that it had a working mill and wanted to see about their bread flour, unfortunately closed due to illness but I will go back.
A warm sunny day so washing done and dried outside.
A pal’s response to some neighbours who were moaning about her cutting hay field one evening, she only worked until just after 8pm and she needed to get the crop in. As she pointed out living in the country is not just thatched cottages and cream teas you know.
Summer pudding with crime fraiche for afters, good way of using up stale bits and bobs of bread.0 -
Glad you're feeling better Mrs LW.
Frith, DH has the disabled bus pass and I think it's anytime here but within certain times in other counties. Absolutely rubbish that what you get apparently varies across the country. Like anything else, I suppose.
Pleasures...
Morning sickness seems to be easing. Celebrated by having leftover HM rhubarb crumble and custard for breakfast. Yum.
Working from home today, managed to drag myself out of bed at 6.30 and got the kitchen done and breadmaker, washing machine and dishwasher all whirring before 8am. Also threw togethe the makings of a squash and sweet potato soup which - alongside HM bread - will be lunch.
We've told the estate agents either we exchange next week or we're pulling out of the whole deal. It's been dragging on for months now and - given we were led to believe the bit of the chain below us was 'ready to go' - I'm just fed up. I sent a firm email reiterating our mid Sept hard stop for completion and requesting an update in writing, and now they keep trying to ring me. They'll never write anything down, the slippery b*****ds. I just want closure one way or another and I'm not getting any less pregnant!!! Anyway, pleasure is I'm happy that one way or another by next weekend I'll know where I'll be living this Xmas. And breathe.
Weather nice enough to hang washing outside.
Three day weekend round the corner :T0 -
Thanks for the good wishes folks, much appreciated and I am much better today. Sadly HWK is a day behind and is very sniffy and sneezy poor boy.
Nice trip to town on the bus, busy and long queues but I got everything I needed and made the bus home with 10 minutes to spare.
Am getting fish and chips for tea.....for a treat!
I emerged from M&S with all limbs intact and groceries, I found offers that made the food affordable woohoo!!!
This beautiful sunny and warm day, a real pleasure after the past couple of weeks of showers and cloudy skies.
Lighting some tea lights in my votives on the hearth last evening after it got dark, so cosy and most enjoyable.0 -
Quickly, from Town of Horse, prior to tutoring:
1. More trouble/abuse/asb/filming, much worse, but am posting here to signal this. Car still blocking &'s frontage. & remains silent despite all foregoing, despite being followed , taunted, all provocation. I do not speak, do not turn round.
2. Spitalfields nonetheless, but checked tyres before leaving at 3.30bells. Dear gbf popped in early, &still setting up, huge hugs. & finally said a few things, showed pics, recordings. Further msgs throughout day. Truly grateful.
3. Will re-do dragon Idris's RWC jersey. Latest
version even vaster than I thought. Now have him, so no more guesswork. Welsh R in USA, giving talk this weekend - not the one she perfected in Japanese on Alun Wyn Jones:-)))
4. Action proceeding, so I'm told. Have been offered CCTV by someone trustworthy, techie.
5. Decent enough Spits banking, DG. Lovely S wearing heavy metal rocker t-shirt this arvo. Happy rugby chats, as always. S agrees ABs' loss of meaningless top spot is good news for &, nasty for Wales.
Doubtless, discussion will follow in The Alma.

Test cricket, The Ashes - forbidden topics apparently. Extraordinary stuff. Raffles surely has some explanation, in consultation with Geoffrey Boycott
Glad that sons have college in whatever can be garnered for their futures, Frith.
