Happy Birthday to son of Frith and yay on new stove.

    Saturday pleasures,

    Bit of a lie-in.

Out to breakfast with eldest DSS, I had the biggest breakfast bap with snorkers and egg so didn’t eat again until tea.

Capt S moved the water feature aka bird bath so I could clean, the sparrows then caught up on their ablutions.

More cleaning, this time the beautiful grey one, she currently has stablemates in the form of young swallows who have a nest in between the light and beam in her stable, guess where she stands?!

Driving home and listened to last 20 minutes of Utd match, despite going down to 10 men we held out for a draw against one of the league favourites.

A glass of wine in the garden, quite a few dragonflies zipping about.

More things fishy, a new series of Bob M and Paul W with their gentle, humorous programme, this time on the River Usk after brown trout.

Thanks for the reminder Lainey I noticed it on the front of the Radio Times :)

    Good Morning,

Another lovely day.....cross that we cancelled the garden shredder when they predicted rain for days

    Saturday

    1. Trip to the farm shop for hen supplies. Found a different way home.

    2. Lunch was mainly using up fridge stuff to make way for food supplies for DSs when we go on hols.

    3. Went shopping in the Emporium and the orange supermarket, with coupons and cashback apps.

    4. Invited to friends house for tea. We took starter and pud. (From The Emporium ). Jolly evening.

    5. Dropped DS2 at his first shift of glass Collecting.

    Have a lovely day :)

    4. OH cooked steak for tea
    5. Went to the beer festival (for gin) and there was live music. A good evening.

    Have a good Sunday all
I wanna be in the room where it happens

    Pleasures today....

On an impulse I took the dog out early (0745) and got pleasure from seeing her go into the river and run through a field chasing a rabbit. (Bunnykins got away, fortunately)

Lovely warm shower using my organic lavender soap.

Tidying out the bureau and finding photos from when OH and I went to Australia 21 years ago - I was five months pregnant with our son.

Doing some pruning of shrubs in the sunshine.

And at 2100 - watching Poldark, one of the few programmes I enjoy.

Mustn't forget - when I go to bed later I will be sleeping with the Egyptian cotton duvet cover I bought the other day.
One life - your life - live it!

    1) quite a full cathedral this morning, despite the rain, including a couple celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary - they came to Dundee on their honeymoon
    2) lunch with mrpiano. omg can't believe he'll be gone in a week
    3) filled my brown bin (weeding made easier by the rain)
    4) lovely walk up to the planet trail with the 3 dogs (mrpiano was practising for his au revoir concert on saturday). might be the last time i take his dog for a walk for some time. sniff.
    5) back for sung compline at 8. beautiful (though raining again!)
lift home from provost (still raining) and now listening to bowie and queen with mrpiano

    Pleasures for today (Sunday).

    1) Not a bad sleep.

    2) Smaller son's favourite present was a keyring from his football team (£2.50).

    3) My brother popped round first thing before taking part in a tennis tournament.

    4) Met my parents, sister, brother in law and niece at our local farm shop for a birthday breakfast.

    5) I polished the stove which came up very well! Then used bicarb and water to get all the scrape and black lead marks off the tiled floor (which took a good hour). It does look better for it, though.

    6) Hens OK.

    7) Chinese takeaway for tea.

    8) Just amused because I knocked a loose teabag out of the high wall cupboard. It could have landed anywhere in the kitchen. It was my rooibos teabag, not smaller son's PG tips. Instead, it arced across the kitchen, missed his cup with cows milk in and fell straight into my cup with the almond milk in waiting for it!

Dark o'clock. Nights are drawing in!

Day started with pouring rain but dried up and has stayed dry though dull.

Work was worked. Off for a whole day.

Went to the r@nge shop. Not my favourite place and the service was abysmal but did get a rather cute caravan now in the downstairs loo and some RTC pink paint and grey paint.

Home and started painting the inside of shed pink and grey. Took me hours!

    Quick dog walks.

Sons car broke down in highlands. So he won't be back till late. At least he has rescue cover.

Friends popped in with doughnuts and flowers...a winning combination.

Had a doughnut for tea ( followed by the last doughnut for oud when they left)

Did a final coat of the shed floor before coming back in to watch Poldark.

Just been out to check which solar lights are working ...they're mainly hidden by the rampant nasturtiums! Smell of sweetpeas is divine ( having been breathing paint fumes all afternoon)

Haggis is very sad . All his siblings are away. He's just mooched outside their rooms !

I never post on here but it’s always in the back of my mind, thinking, ‘what have I done old-style today?’
Today I have some things I’ve enjoyed and thought I’d actually post.
    1) lovely lie in. I work in hospitality so late nights and early starts. Didn’t get up today until 10am as it was a day off.

    2) nice trip to a local forest and had a walk around and play in the park with my daughter, 11

    3) made a roast dinner, not something I do often and something I’d like to do more. We sat around the table and ate it, it was lovely

    4) made scones, they’ll be treats throughout the week. Enjoyed one this evening in front of the tv with a cuppa

    5) made a new friend with a neighbourhood cat, found out his name and gave him some fuss. He keeps coming to my house and a quick ask on FB gave me his owners and his name
