1 Washing the towels and cheating by using the tumble dryer for some softness.
2 DH drove me to distraction today, he’s had a mishap in his pride and joy (car) and a pole that was ridiculously within a parking space, and quite frankly he’s sulking like a child at the mistake! I’ve taken photo’s and asked for a quote from a dent repair company without his knowing so will surprise him with a booked in repair when they get back to me. But I'm not letting on I've done it today as his mood has been too much.
3 We didn’t get good news from the vet check up, but as long as we can keep them happy and comfortable that’s okayish, it doesn’t get any easier knowing what’s what and from the first to present day each one hurts just as much. But at the moment our old girl is happy and doing her best to say there’s life in the old gal yet don’t worry!
4 My aunts touched base.
5 Kitchen tile sample turned up and they aren’t like I expected, they are better which is a pleasant surprise.0 -

Good Morning Folks,
Sunday
1. Cooked breakfast.
2. Garden clearing.
3. Took DH to the shops for tutorial in coupons, points boosting and freebies. If he is at home all day, this is important education. We had a little treat of free coffee and cake at Caffè Nero, using loyalty cards. Then Lion King with Sweet Sunday tickets.
4. Roast dinner.
5. More Keeping Faith and George Clarke.
Monday
1. Boiled eggs for breakfast with nice bread.
2. Made a ragu in the slow cooker, to use for lasagne. Smelt yummy alll day. (Lasagne looked good, but wasn't one of my best efforts. Not sure, where I went wrong :rotfl:).
3. Sunshine, so DH and I continued clearing in the garden.
4. Car full of green waste to the dump. The queue was huge as we left, so we will go early again next time.
5. Wanted to burn a bit of wood waste in the fire basket, but it started to rain. Watched another Keeping Faith instead.
6. Used Silver hair dye. Hair now a nicer shade of grey :rotfl:
Have a lovely day0 -
Pleasures for yesterday...
Back to work after four weeks off, still the same old familiar routine. Son arranged to work from home to look after dog.
Hugs from some of my colleagues, the kind that needed no words.
Meeting friendly people during my working day.
Home to ecstatic welcome from dog. She was still alive and the house hadn't burnt down or been burgled. My son done good, that boy!
Early night after long day at work, slept okayish, some weird dreams but nothing disturbing. One life - your life - live it!0 -
Welcome home DD
Thinking of Sue and hoping you are ok?
Monday pleasures,
Perfect summer’s day, warm but not too hot with lots of sunshine and a cool breeze.
Made bread and left it to prove whilst I went shopping.
Stopped in horsey town by large string going up to the gallops, shiny bouncy horses in the sunshine, beautiful.
Spending time with my own girlie, trimmed her mane as it was very heavy and long on her neck. She was in a very affectionate mood with lots of kisses.
Meat free Monday so Nut Burgers with Ratatouille Couscous0 -
Did lots of cooking yesterday to use up 'bits and pieces' from the fridge that would otherwise binned and made some nice tasty food for a few days lunches.
Made the first preserves of the season in the form of some Scandinavian Cucumber Pickles to use a couple of big cucumbers from the greenhouse.
A good babysit last night, the boys were up in their room at 6.45 listening to an audio book when DD1 and James left and we didn't see or hear them all evening. They were flat out and fast asleep when parents returned at 9.45, brilliant stuff!
Cooler here this morning than it has been for a while, lots of rain overnight and much more predicted for today and the garden is looking much happier for the watering.
Driving out through the countryside to the garden centre yesterday we passed so many fields of various cereals all beautifully golden brown and ripe for harvest and coming home last night passing a few very big tractors with laden trailers on the road, it must be a good harvest this year.0 -
Thank youlainey been reading and feeling guilty for not posting ,but pleasures thin on ground.
I must try and find some every day ,
Good for the soul
1 DGD looked magnificent for her prom ,her Mum would have been so proud.
2 Several of her Mums friends ( all with children same age ) told me how good she looked and how like her mum she is,I know ,she is heart wrenchingly like her at times ,but must not compare too much .
She is a girl/ woman in her own right .
3 Two of DH sisters came for a few days last week ,they stayed at a pub in town ( Gainsboroughs town!) and came daily. They are the most practical of his 4 sisters and have filled in the rest of his family .
4 it was lovely to see them ,we can't go out now and it was so hot ,but lots of cricket was watched.
5 our 4 8 thwedding anniversary last week .Mixed feelings, much sadness that we won't make 50 but gratitude that we have had 48
Not sure if this is 6 ,part of it definitely is ,
DH arranged with our son to send me a dozen red roses for our anniversary,he's never done that .
I choked up and he sobbed and sobbed ,then his breathing is compromised.
DH is deteriorating quickly ,all end of life wishes countersigned by GP in place ,the surgery is being fantastic,as for the specialist nurse she is wonderful .
Something Nargie ,who I admire so much, said resonates with me .
I will have to find a new normal .
But first I must do my very best for my man ,who is so frightened at the prospect of hospital admission.
There won't be ,I can do this for him.
Sorry for essay ,once I started I couldn't stop!0 -
My brain is definitely addled,it was our 48 th wedding anniversary, not 46 !!!!0

It wont play out these days.
Eggs and no marmite soldiers. Come on, what is the world coming too!
Nows as yous are aware BoP is inn farcebuck and cannot find big chief MSE’s usefulness tool, yet red around out with this parish about yet again buying through it and not using PayPal but transferring money instead. No quick fix for the …
No hes nots ons about that, his blue club page had up that the schoolboy film was on spikes of five other evening and that it is required viewing. Last day BoPsie texted mes and said theys be no cricket and we should get a film. I mentioned the smoking Ms York and I can tell you BoPsie was no pleased with my choice. Tally ho! Spring Chicken to Shytehawk! No bother, it is too early inn the season to watch it, but more later!
Mind you got the pongos at the vets brakefest, thanked leader for the raffle prize, he asked what I got, so I told him. Same as last month, SFA! You has to get inn thirst to see the banter! Not bin the same since the fix playing bingo years back. Committee member always won and as the crowd were always looking to the caller, no one saw the fingers requesting the numbers! No one ever checked the balls, but the hole they were in? Now yous worried?
Now on with more occurrences in your version of the Life of BoP.
BoP had his ham salad last nite for supper, and this morning has another filled lunch box! This weak we has the usual and the biscuits are proper chocolate covered digestives. Rite tasty them and good for you.
We has crab inn the refrigerator ready for a crab nite. Afters paying mes tax, has to do so! Bee rite crabby soon and I will lets you knows when. Be rite crabby! Proper foods and good for you!
Now as today BoP started as he ment to go on. Inn the gym to keep beach ready! That way I can get the best out of the day as well.
Down at the mill, fitter who cannot find petrol is not inn again! I would say it is unlucky, but he is on the same as BoP, but I seem manage and the ready meals of his are rotting inn the refrigerator! Now lets see, BoP paid around £44 for this weaks food. And wes got loads of Strawbs and things. Now the £4.99 ready meals and the cokes! That is thirty pounds on SFA. Bet he even gets the cheese on toast delivered as well. Let me get mes abacus off the wall. £36 on MSG food at the mill, rotting inn the refrigerator. And the cheese on toast delivered! Mmmmmmmm, £57 That is more than BoP, and this weak he managed to get a couple of bottles of wobbleade for £8 on top of that shop, as well as some food for Raffles! Not that Raffles needs it with his newt restaurant! Oh and BoP’s shop, no bored has bins were purchased! Now I would feel sorry, and yes I go on holiday as well, but £4,000 on a pushbike and then no money at the start of the year?
Just a reminder that the Bank Holiday in August is here before your next pay packet!
Next time you cruise off your estate, look at the year plate of the cars. Where people are buying their house they are 12 to 14 plates. At the mill the gaffer, millwright and BoP are all 12 to 14 plate. Where people have no money, see above, they are 18 and 19 plate? As thirst boss said.
‘Companee as subsidised shop, canteen. We has sport and social club, it costs you 5 punce a weak. Don’t let me catch you inn the bar as yous all under eighteen. We also has a pension scam, but ifs I weres you lot, I wouldn’t put a penny in it, because when you retire, the bucket will be empty. Also, don’t buy a new car, I will think yous paid too much’ October 78.
Now your looking in the mill car park?
Alright John, got a new motor?
Watched the flix of net again last nite and the queen was on. Rotting toms said it was a poor film, but it was a BoP one! Taxi. BoPsie was inn her element with been theres all over. Uni Challenge has bin recorded and wobbleade was drunk. Nice.
Raffles had his second brush and comb last nite from BoP. Hence today no yellow as he is a tad upset! His fur is nearly back to normal. He visited his restaurant last nite and got a takeaway!
Not long until the next BoP tour. Please note that BoP and BoPsie travel independent and not on these booze cruises not offered elsewhere. Like fight nite and Glove Island and battled into one? AVOID.
No justs the tea party for BoP! Details shortly.
Rite that is yours lot in your version of the life of BoP.
Oh and yous probably wandering why BoP keeps on about running out of money? Well when I did uni a ffew years back, mes and BoPsie still paid the mortgage on our house. The couple opposite were in nice cars and she looked with envy every time she passed by. Well one day mes and me mate were doing a project when I called him to say, ‘I think it is the Bailiffs!’ he rushed down and inn a sweat, watched as they walked pass our palace and turfed them out onto the street! They left in their nice cars, whether they kept them I do not know.
Not saying that I am rich or not poor?
But nice car, no door?
Not saying that a few others are cashing inn their pensions, I am still contributing to mine!
Don’t accept if you are told by one thing it is raining, yet another says it is sunny. For your own clarity, don’t take their word for it, but look out of the window instead!0
