Hello!
Glad you are all still here......
Been MIA for a while due to hectic real life. Not been able to raise the energy to think of 5 OSP. Back for the hols.......
Yesterday
1. Pleased with my upcycled school desk planter. Planted with £5 succulents from Lidl.
2. Medical at doctors.DH and I passed with flying colours.
3. Booked a garden shredder for a week. It comes on Monday. The brash from all the trees we had cut down last year, will finally be turned into mulch for the hen coop and around the raised beds. :j
4. Went out for a meal with DH and DS2. No occasion, just to use up a voucher which was going out of date. Good company, and no cooking.
5. Watched an episode of Keeping Faith.........we are watching the first series.
PK Hope you are enjoying Angel's book. I had the Escape to the Chateau book for my birthday, but did not realise there were more! I need to collect them all :rotfl: (So much for the decluttering!).
Have a lovely day0 -

Date Nite inn town was nice as we giggled and chatted away like good ones over Thai. Wobbledades were consumed. Nice. On Date Nite no phones are taken! Best thing!
Was at the Veterans Egg and snorker fest this morning, over sixty attended. the Op Banner was displayed again.
Talked to comrade about JAM and he is going to join us.
Was home to watch cricket, but it is off!
Tuck your toes inn then!0 -
Hello all - AWOL again.
Broomstick - take care of you... And you Nargle... well, everyone then!
Bit of a carp week, fell off my bike (gin may have been involved) and a vicious supervision resulting in my submission date being moved back...
But pleasures
1. Didnt' break anything in bike accident - mainly hurt ego but some fantastic bruises on my knees that are turning all colours now.
2. I know what supervisors said is right and it's a case of prolonging now to save time later.. didn't want to hear it though. One finally came up with something useful that I've been asking for
3. Lovely warm sunshine - you'll never hear me say "too hot"
4. Got to ICT despite train chaos
5. Meal with OH and one of his old school friends.
6. Meal out with OH last night. Ages since just the two of us went out. Lovely lovely fish
7. washing has been drying on the line
8. keeping faith, WDYTYA, long lost family. Lots of others will have to wait (even longer now)
9. roots done at hairdressers
10. One of my jobs has let me off the marking :T
Have a good evening allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
Hello. From baking hot to sitting with blankets on knees and candles lit! Lashing with rain.
Work 8.30-12pm. Was fine.
Was just leaving and met the family of an ex boyfriend ( circa 1987) ...!!!
Pick me up....no walk home!
Went to see a Toy Story 4 with DD1... Disappointed with the end!
Went to B&Q and bought a roll of paper to repaper my ensuite. The parrots and I don't get on!
Had takeway for tea which I'd phoned ahead for & DD ran in.0 -
Sorry to hear about your bike accident, VJsmum.
Quick pleasures for today (Saturday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Off to Specsavers in floody city to have my ear microsuctioned. What a difference! Before, I couldn't even hear the lady calling me in to the appointment. I came out and realised that people all over the (large) shop were having conversations - it was like being at a party! Things keep making me jump - sibilance, the toilet flushing and I can hear the keys on the laptop keyboard now. Apparently my ear drum on the right couldn't have vibrated at all beforehand and only a small % on the left.
3) Hens OK.
4) Smaller son and I went to Ikea for tea.
5) Bigger son messaged to say a doctor occasionally goes up to the village and he had "removed the bamboo" from bigger son's hand - complete with photograph of bigger son trying to be brave and lots of villagers gathered round watching! Apparently it had been in his hand for a week...
6) Babysat little niece, who did not wake up.
7) Watched Casualty.
8) Made £20 selling bits on Ebay.0 -
Good Morning,
Vjsmum Well done you, for picking yourself up....in more ways than one! They keep telling us, we need to teach our children resilience, but it's a tricky skill at any age.
Saturday
1. DH was busy painting a door. I never quite got going. Sometimes the pleasure is just not doing something......
2. DD has arrived at friends wedding for the weekend. Sadly we will not be able to see her as it is not local.
3. Popped out to supermarket for milk, and found a solar powered flamingo light in the sale.
4. Thanks to Frith we have found the new George Clarke series.....missed the first episode, but watched the second episode 7hrs before it disappeared!
5. Invited to young friends house for chilli. Met another friend who we have not seen for years. A very jolly evening.
Awake too early, as DS1 left the dog gate open and doggie came to visit for a stroke at 5:30. Then the cat arrived demanding her breakfast, so I gave in, and got up!
Have a lovely day0 -
Hurrah for better hearing Frith and ouchy on eldests hand!
Saturday pleasures,
A lie-in followed by a leisurely breakfast.
Being able to wear chinos and tee rather than being hot in shorts, we had gentle rain on & off all day and the garden loved it.
Saw beautiful grey one, had an amble around the field but ground too hard to do anything in the way of fast work.
Snorkers for tea.
Lighting candles in the evenings now ( snap Mhags ) the only good thing about the night’s drawing in.0 -
Pleasures yesterday...
Spending time with elderly relatives, despite the 200 mile drive to see them.
Seeing them laugh at the antics of my dog.
Lots of lovely rain to treat the plants and freshen the air.
Listening to Berliner Rundfunk on the way home - son has the app for that on his phone so plugged it into the car and we listened to 60's, 70's and 80's music, some of which I hadn't heard for years.
Home safely, house ok, cat ok, time to unwind before going to bed.
Today - gentle pottering about, catch up with friends who have just come back from holiday, getting ready for work tomorrow, first shift since my OH died 4 weeks ago. It will be good to get some semblance of a normal routine again. One life - your life - live it!0 -
Take it gently, Nargle. Early days.. x
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Took the train along the coast, coffee and cake in a nice coffee shop. Half a 'proper' Eccles cake each (with the proper filling rather than an elaborate mince pie)
2. An hour's walk back along the beach
3. OH worked a train while I reworked a chapter
4. Made nut roast and roasted Mediterranean veg for dinner
5. went to the cinema to watch Yesterday. Fab, uplifting film. Love our little cinema - a fiver each...
Have a nice day allI wanna be in the room where it happens0 -
