Broomstick hugs to you. Be kind to yourself .

Oooft it's hot! And today wasn't even the hot day! I'm not sure who Dd2 thinks is going to scale up a brick wall and in through a small window but she keeps closing my bedroom window when I'm out but she's in. So it's stifling hot upstairs.

Work 9-12.30pm. Done . Skipped out the door .

Home and cut the grass , chatted to neighbour from across the road.

Deadheaded some flowers. Pansies have gone that leggy way they do...do I pull them out or will they 'revive?' ( they were very RTC in spring and have put on a fabulous display )

Picked a big bunch of sweetpeas. Reclined in a 'I'm too hot 'way on sofa and kind of dozed with wafts of sweetpea scented air on the breeze.

Went to allotment to give veggies a good drink as it's to be even hotter tomorrow. We never had any storms though they were forecast. Picked a bunch of sweetpeas from there. Pulled some weeds but didn't need any produce...got my eye on the apples growing nicely though!

Haggis had his usual best time ever! He loves it there. Was in and out the pond.

Home and pottered around. Phoned friend and had a nice chat with her.

    Pleasures for today (Wednesday).

    1) Our day kicked off before 1am when we walked out of the village to watch lightning in all directions!

    2) Bed after 1 and the storms came our way so torrential rain and lightning overhead - for about 10 minutes then it went away.

    3) Hens OK.

    4) Popped to the charity shop and found smaller son not only a SaltRock hoodie, but a polo shirt from our local football team!

    5) Took smaller son and his friend to football and I had a relaxing evening in Costa (until it shut), wandering around Sainsburys then reading the Private Eye in the car. His team won 5-0.

    Broomstick look after yourself. sea.

Ampersand I am at our place in France

    1. More swimming in the sea. Love it.

    2. More relaxing in the sun.

    3. Went to a lovely restaurant in the mountains. Food very good with superb views. On way back stopped at the viewpoint place along with what must have been a camera club. I don't think they thought much of my camera on my fairly cheap old phone.

    4. Family WhatsApp group messages. It's amazing how easy it can be too communicate with people when we are in France, most in England but a couple in America.

    5. Having a glass of wine on the balcony.

Loved Years and Years DD happy hols and to VL too

    Take care Broomstick

    Wednesday pleasures,

Started early with an impressive lightning display, small dog was frightened by the thunder and appeared at my bedside so sat up with her until it stopped.

It didn’t cool it down at all unfortunately, popped over to see girlie but just groomed her in field and fed her apples.

Rest of day was all about keeping cool, windows and curtains either wide open or shut depending on what side of the house they were on.

Small dog had a few ice cubes to munch on and a cool, wet towel to lay on.

A bowl of mint choc chip ice-cream for tea :D

DD sounds like a really wonderful time.

Not a pleasure really the car just gave us a completely unexpected bill surprise just shy of £500! At the moment there is nothing left to reign in or cut costs on with building work also starting today on the house, so we are gritting our teeth, life is grand like that. What I can do though is try to sell some bits on the bay, I’ve held off as it’s so faffy but there is my final push, I don’t think it will be anywhere near the bill but it will help. Well that sounds like a new background project I will keep a tab, hmmm wonder how many surveys I need to do…..

    For Wednesday

1 I made a really nice potato salad with mince koftas if I do say so myself, just right for this weather.
2 The builder is a lovely chap started work today it will be nice to have a working downstairs bathroom again, I’m not used to having people around and he made me jump out of my skin at one point today, we couldn’t help but laugh a lot! DH and I had a bit if a “chat” to which I said back in 2011 you started on the downstairs loo, but there was a problem and after that we didn’t fix it until now 2019 where I asked for help as he’s now got bad arthritis, he does agree but I know it’s hard.. And also this way I get things done and the downstairs loo is then also available for the rather large amount of building work that follows on. There’s method in my madness and I do freely admit my talents do not lay in tiling and fitting loo’s.
3 Leftover pork in a roll for lunch, offered the builder lunch, but he doesn’t eat during the day, I suspect that would be why he’s thin! He did take me up on an ice cream thou.
4 The animals are very confused, they are usually free reign but with builders in, I put them in a cage in the lounge with aircon, some would call that bliss, they however are not amused. I will no doubt suffer later.
5 I’ve put the first coat of paint on some fence panels, and also took the opportunity with animals caged and good weather to vax the carpets.

Was at the wild Wednesday at the wobbleade emporium last evening, no foods were consumed and a lift home from BoPsie!

Got home to quick ham salad and the T20. BoP fund is only slightly up this weak as he has missed out twice. Roses tonight so should be able to claw some up. Please note that BoP does not give financial advice.

On that, again BuckFarce adverts has three out of four unregulated financial companies advertising this day, promising the earth and … Is it not time that rather than the token button from chief MSE, that some regulation of advertising on the internet is implemented? Or do we fine website owners twice their annual turnover? Please note I don’t get my financial advise!

Now on to other things. We is on cat watch again this weakened with neighbores cat. He is bringing back his GD. Raffles will love it! We pay his veterinary bills!

Talking of that, inn town someone also on buckface, I think an elephant, found a mouse inn their car and released it back into raffles’ restaurant! Raffles wont be long!

Now sore ting out things for the weakened with BoPsie. Obviously wont be any cricket on FryDay so we has the tin of red paint readied. Thai it is. Then on satday BoP has his Vets BrekFest. Fresh snorkers will be eaten!

Don’t look too good for the ashes today!

I stood by the window counting matches as I lit them?

    Moany voice...it's too hot!

    Oooft!

Work 9-12.30 was fine. Happy to leave but happy enough whilst there.

Home. Cleaner had been in and all nice and tidy.

Chap came about my horrid green slabs ( as in new landscaped garden in Feb) I shall not be fobbed off.

DD ordered pizza for tea. It was nice.

For those Keeping Faith viewers the full series is on iplayer.

DD1 reached her destination. Hurrah! What an achievement .I am so proud of her

1 I can’t find things I know I have so time to CS some clothes and re organise as it’s not working for me. End result 2 bin bags to go, and tidied clothes drawers, I am being quite drastic now as I’m bored with what feels like forever sorting clothes out so letting them go rather than I will wear it one day.

2 All animals caged to make sure they were in air con, and ice cubes to cool their water down, the bedroom curtains and front curtains stayed shut and pulled the blind out over the patio.

3 I did a wrap for lunch, struggling for dinner inspiration thou.

4 The downstairs bathroom is done, I have to paint and finish 2 small cupboards in there but whoo hooo and dh is happy as he said he was overwhelmed by the extent of what needed doing.

5 I picked a copy of the vintage tea party year by angel adoree for a pound, and I’m loving sitting here noseying through it.

Pleasures today.....early walk in park (07:15) before it got hot.

Booked in at garage for 08:00 for routine air con system service, was there just over two hours but they have a cafe there and they gave me a voucher for a fried egg roll and coffee - breakfast sorted!

Freshly serviced air con making driving so much more comfortable. They also washed my car and vacuumed the interior, saving me a job.

Got my phone fixed by man in the market hall, £20, cheaper than getting a new phone.

Having all doors and windows open to air the house right through. Too hot to spend time outdoors.

Having ceiling fan in bedroom and cotton bedlinen.

Don't have to be up at the crack of sparrers tomorrow so can catch up on sleep.

    Pleasures for today (Thursday).

    1) A reasonable sleep though it took me hours to get there.

    2) Messages from bigger son at 5am (I was still awake). It was considerably hotter here today then in Nepal. 33 degrees at one point.

    3) Went to get a sack of hen food and nearly melted carrying it across the allotment. Hens OK so I left them with 3 bowls of water - they often walk over them and knock them over.

    4) Did very little after lunch but watched an episode of George Clark's Old House, New Home.

    5) Just home after having a campfire with my brother. Lightning in the distance, ISS going overhead, the dog thought he would protect us from a badger!
