5 OS pleasures in your day today - part 3
Comments
-
Been a very full on week with Pickle sitting, puppy sitting and a full day in the shop, am so glad it's over now!
Zebra child behaved and didn't get homesick but we took him home on Thursday not Friday as we felt he'd had long enough off his 'home turf'.
Visit to a Birds of Prey centre where they were flying a Peregrine Falcon who took off after a wild buzzard and chased it off, magic to see.
Allotment produce flowing in more than I can really cope with so we're re-homing beans .
We won a log cradle and some pallets on Freecycle to extend our winter log storage capacity.
Up to date with everything in the house and garden now so I am having the rest of the day off!0 -
1 We spent Saturday at the in laws they are all ok.
2 We got a couple of coats of paint on the fence panels to replace our broken ones.
3 Leftovers for lunch and using the remainder of oven heat to put in dinner.
4 We’ve purchased a job lot of fantastic looking tiles and saved, hoping to have enough for the hallway also.
5 Clothes dried on the line.0 -
Pleasures for today (Sunday).
1) Not a bad sleep.
2) Cleaned the living room (windows etc) plus dusting, 2 loads of washing, cleaned bits of the kitchen and the stairs.
3) Hens OK.
4) Went out for a cup of tea and a little drive in the afternoon.
5) Meatballs for tea.
6) Still watching episodes of George Clark!0 -
And a 7)!
Just looking out across the back and the neighbours’ security light came on. I thought it would be our cat but it was a hedgehog!
Haven’t seen one locally since I was at primary school.0 -
Sunday pleasures,
Early morning walk with small dog.
Capt S had some work papers to deliver to town of gown solicitors so went along to keep him company, we chatted about having another week away in September and a couple of possible mini breaks as well.
Other than that it was a quiet, pottering kind of day at home with a roast dinner which was most welcome after all the recent salads.
Watching a stand off between a kestrel and a couple of crows, they were ganging up on him as he sat on a telegraph pole but when he took off it was like two bombers trying to keep up with a fighter jet!
Watched I am Nicola with Vicky McClure, hard at times as about insidious abuse within relationships but good acting and apparently improvised at times.0 -
A really good nights sleep last night.
A day to do what I want rather than something for someone else, so the house is now cleaned and dusted and I've had a cooking session to use up some 'last legs' things and save us some cash. Have made a big bread and butter pudding and cooked some berries in syrup to top it with and also a big quiche to use up some ham and some drying out cheddar cheese. I shall make potato salad to go with the quiche from leftover boiled spuds.
We're going out for lunch to a garden centre we found a couple of weeks ago that looks promising on the food front.
HWK has gone to the allotment early before we get the heat of the day and will bring back things to eat during the week, even beans are welcome!
A nice afternoon with DD1 James and the boys yesterday, I made surprise cup cakes with a rollo baked in the middle of each one, went down VERY well!0 -
Good to read all your pleasures. Here is my 5 over the weekend
1. Rain for the garden and drying up so I can put washing outside. No complaints from me regarding the heat either VJsmum.
2. Watching the sparrows playing in the bird bath.
3. Peace and quiet as horrible noisy neighbour is away for 2 weeks bliss!
4. Resigning myself to try and find a full set of buttons for a linen top I have only had on once after seeing 2 missing. Joy was finding them in the sewing tin when I went to repair the cats Kickeroo.
5. Nice visit to Peebles. Lovely walks and pub grub.0 -
Nows yous knows BoP doesn’t shout from the rafters does he. I see someone inn the parish has bin to the lug quack. Please do not even bother to consider them ones that only sit in yours lugs. No No No No No No No No. Get them from the audiologist, not the team that sells gogs!
Rites rants over.
Now as you are aware that BoP does not watch the TV Tax funded TV, but thanks to the person on here that mentioned the challenge of the uni. Set up now to record, but why are the programmes around it all on cookery? I see that Jimmy the cook also had a bad year! Suggars! I missed the tennis again as well!
Last nite we watched a river film on the river thing. Guilt Trip. Barbara had a nomination for it on the golden raspberry awards! Quite good, and BoPsie was inn her bin there mode as well!
Did mes tax things and again I am paying far too much. Nows they want 2021 money next year. Theives. BoP’s shout at the time would gets me binned from this parish! In a sense they ware called fatherless thieves. Avoid!
Nows BoP is at the mill and one of the loom fitters is not in this day. Three days holiday? Well I suppose so, but ifs you remember early this year and last xmas about these five weakened months. Well there is another next month and that is bad news? Please use the rule of Wilkins Micawber! I only let BoPsie have a glass of whine a weak, too much and she’d be all over the plaice! Oh, and next month in August, the bank Holiday comes before another pay day as well!
PM2DD Fingers are itching away. #UTM #UTH
Now that is it for now in your version of the Life of BoP, my version is harder as I have to drag me self through another day!
Why you look behind and only see your footprint on the sand, yet you were carried here.0 -
Hello. Just getting ready for going out for dinner with one if my lovely friends. Probably not seen her for a good month so much catching up to do.
Sunday I worked 9-12 was more than happy to skip out the door!
I think I was full of good intention but fell asleep on the sofa instead.
Went down to friends to return their bike that DD had borrowed.
Went for ice cream...wierdly that end of town was torrential rain we were dry. Severe flooding in some areas.
Woken by son projectile vomiting. Poor soul. Poor me who had to clean it all up! Bleurgh!
Day off! Hurrah! Hoping this will be a regular 'thing'
Haggis and I went to allotment. Did a bit of weeding , sorted pumpkins which are running riot. Picked peas and courgettes.
Baked a courgette and lemon loaf which was delicious. Shall certainly make that again!
Wallpapered my ensuite...note to self remember that bloody wall is wonky shaped!
The niecelys came , had macaroni for lunch and a quick batch of scones whilst oven was on and courgette cake.
Sat and blethered all afternoon. They've not long gone and I've had a quick shower ( mindful of wallpaper) . Looking forward to a catch up.
