Sunday pleasures,
Early morning cuppa after another rubbish night’s sleep, there is no rhyme or reason to them but like buses several come along at once
Bacon butties and catching up on all things Ambridge although for the final 30 mins the tv was on silent in the background.
Very unlike me but spending most of the day sitting down, glued to said tv.
A roast chicken dinner.
Such a close, tense match but finally England won the cricket, after all these weeks of play it all came down to who had scored the most boundaries, well played those teams.0 -
Nargle, sounds just perfect...
Pleasures for yesterday
1. Begg for brekkie, cooked by OH.
2. A pottery morning... not making, just pottering
3. An afternoon bike ride in the sun
4. A family gathering in a field, perfect paella, maybe a little too much gin. Lots of babies and dogs.
5. Little Lucas, aged 2, comedy gold :rotfl: cheats at Pooh sticks...
6. (from the bank) a moonlit but warm cycle ride back. THought I might hanker to be in a caravan in 'our' field again. NOPE

I am guessing most in & around the parish will be happy this day!
Bacon Butties, and Begg? Oh, no banjos?
I note that DfV was out off the Parish recently on wisdoms about pensions! Not that BoP would ever gis yous advise, but I has always put into mes pension piggy bank! From day one! Thirst one is due to pay in 28 months! But then again too many see ££££££££££ and are not sound!
15 Yep or was it boundaries. Don’t matter as wes won! There. Shove that in yous pipe and smoke it. Probably the best over throws inn history! Bribg on the Ashses. BoPsie was pumped up as well!
Now on with other BoP bits.
Wes were due to has a nice salad last nite and then strawbs with ice cream. Inn the end wes had quartered pork pie, quartered tom and boiled egg made during the five minutes before the super over! Wobbleades were consumed to quench me thirst! Still proper food but quickly made, and far quicker than the MSG enriched carp that could be nuked!
Now about this weaks packed lunch box today! We has too cheeses, apple of wood smoked and some mature cheddar! Battenberg cake, rocky and too proper digestives covered inn chocklate! Satsum and Strawbs! Good for yous.
Now at the mill for the weaks shovelling and firing up the spoilers. Rite hard work this.
Oh, BoP got his refurbed and rebuilt ‘putah back last weak and it is now glowing red hot with new hearts inside her, and running smoothly. BoP has de IT’d it as well.
On Wednesday BoP should pick up his new goggles from the goggle quack inn town. They are as loud as his work glasses that are just like the Buggles ‘Video killed the radio Star’ It is from the album, ‘The Age of Plastic’. There, that’s put the fear of god into some! Could be x-ray specs next! Now wes singing!

Pleasures today:
Fine warm sunny weather. It's St Swithin's Day, and if it rains on St Swithin's Day then it will rain every day for the next 40 days. Looking very promising here, commiserations to those experiencing precipitation.
Dog walking in park. Seeing her boundless enthusiasm as I chuck the ball again, and again, and again...
A mini Magnum, white choc flavour.
Finding the clematis at the bottom of the garden is covered in huge pale blue flowers for the first time ever.
Packing balls of knitting wool in beautiful colours for stepmum's birthday. She asked for wool as she spends a lot of time knitting clothes for premature babies. One life - your life - live it!0 -
sitting in my garden arbour seat for coffee this morning, Oh my …..
Picking on the allotment peas, French and fine beans, runner beans, new potatoes, courgettes, rhubarb, and radishes.
Sunshine again, sometimes a little too hot for comfort but sunshine and blue sky is always nice.
Ironing...I know most people see it as a chore but I really enjoy ironing.
Meeting Poppy who is a rescue dog on the allotment this morning and meeting her mum who is on the plot next to ours, both of them just lovely.0 -
Hello.
Had to pick a gazillion caterpillars off my nasturtiums last night. Never seen as many in all my life! So that's how I started my day this morning. On caterpillar watch whilst I was watering the plants.
Work. 9-12. It was fine. Not overly busy.
Home. And grabbed a doggy and my gardening bag. We went down to the allotment. Everything needed a good water. Picked a couple of beetroot, more blooming rhubarb, 4 potatoes from a rogue plant, 4 pea pods ( it's a start!) and a bunch of herbs and wild flowers and couple of sweet peas.
Haggis had so much fun. He just loves it there and gets such a good run and a splash in the pond.
Home and a snoozette.
Then made 3 large jars of strawberry jam. I'd got RTC strawbs yesterday and had prepped them this morning. I bring home a large bonne mam@n jar every other day from work. So have collection...usually put my herbs in them.
Took a jar ( still warm) and the blooming rhubarb round to a friend sat and blethered for an hour.
Met another couple of friends on the way back so stood and chatted for about 20 minutes to them.
Quick doggy walk. Its been a lovely day.0 -
Pleasures for today (Monday).
1) Took ages to get to sleep, but OK after that.
2) Hens OK. Courgette is growing!
3) Went to town for petrol and milk.
4) My brother came round to help me with the next stage of stove/fireplace renovation. This took 20 minutes. Then an hour to clean all the soot up!
5) Made chicken fajitas for tea.
6) Spent about 3 hours agonizing over which register plate to buy (the bit that blocks the enormous chimney up, with a hole through for the stove pipe). Of course, my chimney is a really strange size so I measured everything at least 10 times, looked at stove places, iron works in the Black Country and everwhere else. Finally, a company in Devon are making it, possibly handcrafting! :-D
7) Organised with my sister to pick her up from the garage tomorrow (where she is leaving her car to be mended) then go on to smaller son's high school to leave his goodbye present and uniform. She's got some mortar left over I can have to replace 3 bricks in the inglenook.0 -
Current and anticipated pleasures for today.....
Lemon and ginger tea in bed. Been awake since about 0400, irritable bowel playing up. Just have to go with the flow, it will resolve with time.
Dog and cat with me, cat curled up next to me, dog at foot of bed licking my feet. Yes, she's weird like that.
A parcel waiting for me to post. Tomorrow is my stepmother's birthday and she wants knitting wool as she makes clothes for premature babies. Balls of wool in pretty shades of pink, pale blue, lemon, pale green, peach and lilac. Also a knitting magazine with free kit to make cute stuffed owl toys.
Meeting son in town after work, he's getting one of his dad's watches valued.
Sunshine forecast for today, so some loafing on recliners expected. One life - your life - live it!0 -
1. Union rep gave me some advice about flexible working application.
2. Friend/colleague at work ok after a harrowing experience for her last week.
3. Cooked a very tasty tea. Pasta sauce but used up few bits from the fridge which needed eating.
4. Spoke with my Dad. Only fairly short as he was expecting a guest.
5.. Had a bonfire.0 -
Monday pleasures,
Back to normal life after the excitement of WC sunday, trip into horsey town to pick up f & v.
Packed it all away then done to the garden centre on my bike to stock up on my bird food, not a bag of niger seed in sight, poor goldfinches.
Cleaned out the water feature and filled it back up, within minutes Mama Blackbird was having a bath!
The beautiful grey one whinnied as soon as she saw me come round the corner into the summer paddocks.
The return of Uni Challenge, only got 3 questions right so clearly the little grey cells have missed the exercise.0
