Music and friends to lift you up, sounds perfect DD

    Sunday pleasures,

Early start for Capt S as he took his youngest and gf to airport, I dozed until he came home and then we breakfasted together.

Summer herbs in bloom, the Thyme especially has flourished since I moved it next to kitchen door, obviously prefers morning rather than afternoon sun.

Trip into BurySt, we were going to visit the Abbey gardens but it was extremely busy so instead we just had a wander around the town, I pick up four new to me books from a CS ahead of our holiday.

Warm and muggy day so it was nice to get home, opened the windows to catch the breeze and then both promptly fell asleep on the sofa!

The woodpeckers are now so tame that they will come to take a drink with the rest of the birds, stunning colours up close.
  • Cakes, crumbs all round!

It opens eyes when you turn the tap and nothing comes out. Same as Haradh years back, you filled up the tanks for twenty days, knowing that the water would come on during the next fortnight. Somethings we take for granted, because we live next to the coast? Outside in the wildernesses and other areas, the infrastructure is not there. There was one gaff between Kharj and Haradh, you made sure you filled up! But having been there, the people are not poor. They have more than you? Just that our norms, are not their ideals!

Was inn the kite shed again yestday aft’noon. Good to see people are able to climb into the cockpits and things. Keeps BoP occupied, was alkso up on SatDay as we had a dog burger and saw the merlin engines flying around. JAM both days this weakened! Good news is that on Armed Forces Day wes is expecting another roar of the merlin engine. BoP will be attending the Vets BrekFest prior to this.

Talking of jam, had the croissant and jam on me crumpet yesterday for breakfast after the gym.

Nows as BoP and BoPsie does luck after our pennies in our joint piggy bank, BoPsie received her tax rebate this morning and now wants to spend it. Again, and not for the thirst time recenty she was on about her nite attire and the lace bit. I thinks she wants a new one and the old one could be heading to the bin. Well, no, as she could not bear to throw away her top nite attire of over twenty years. It has become part of BoPsie. And she can not find one as good as what boP bought her. So it has become like the cat’s blanket!

Nows where was BoP. Flix of Net last nite again. Always be my Maybe. Very good and yous not has to pay the regressive TV tax to watch it. Wobblefizzes were consumed.

And this weaks luncheon box. Today I has a special, a penguin! Two cheese, LieSter red and apple of smoked wood. Toms, Strawbs, blueberries and two satsumas. And two proper digestives as well! Good for you. Minds me tonites I has to brew off the tikka of chickens as well! Rite Tasty this weak!

Fingers crossed as news about BoP could be through soon. Details later.

Last night I put back up our clock, proper wind up pendulum clock after decorating the lounge of Palais de BoP. BoPsie had tried to put it up when I was out, but needed BoP’s magic touch. She just hung the pendulum on the chimes, and the clock was ticking like a good one! Time moves fast sometimes! All struck now, and after 7 weaks, chimes on the note bang on!

That Is I thinks all yous needs from BoP today!
No, it does not end there either!

    Pleasures for today (Monday).

    1) Woken at 2.30am by messages! Bigger son has been to the Monkey Temple today. He's also bought smaller son a t shirt. :-) There is a day of training tomorrow then he'll move on.

    2) Smaller son had a GCSE history exam. A (relatively) new thing is that each school chooses a local historic property then paper 1 is a question about that. (Presumably it is a question that can apply to any property!) So he rather enjoyed that this morning.

    3) Hens OK.

    4) Did a bit of gardening then tidied, hoovered and steamed downstairs.

    5) Had a phone call from Nepal this afternoon! Taking advantage of the hotel's Wifi.

    6) Phoned the SEND bit of the council, which is always ridiculous. All I wanted was to change the "setting" of smaller son's school from high school to college. A snooty lady asked why on earth I didn't know who his case worker was (I didn't know he HAD a caseworker, and haven't spoken to anyone in the council about him since he was 9!)

Ms Snooty then found out who the mysterious caseworker was and put me on hold while she tried to connect me. Then she came back to me a little sheepishly after she'd discovered that the lady in question had left ages ago! So now he does have a caseworker (though I have no idea what her purpose is).

Bedtime. And maybe a better sleep?

I've done housework first thing. Bathrooms. Hoovered & washed floors.

    Doggy walk.

Work till 7pm. Was menu tasting and coffee training and all the bits in between.

    Had free pizza for tea.

Dozed off on sofa!! Hence bed!

    1. Plastic surgery done on left thumb@9bells. How lucky we are to have Addenbrookes close by! How lucky & had Mr G, top-notch surgeon. Applying local anaesthesia hurt like .... just as remembered from right thumb job. 7 big+4small stitches down &'s small top thumb joint, now thudding somewhat. Have been best-bullied told - if not sensible, amputation, so Mind Over Matter is NOT the pain option.

    2. Managing. Made the follow-up appts ORDERED.

    3. Fantastic twists and turns cricket. Listened:-) Also fantastic displacement help to &.

    4. Undemanding but engrossing reading(esp. for Francophiles): Julia Stagg's 'The French Postmistress'.

    5. Chuckled at adjacent Daily Mirror/Daily Mail headlines. Former repeated latest Widdecombe brainwonkery: latter blazed new help for geriatric brain disorder.

Now in bed, will obey rules.
Unfortunately, means another Spits miss likely

    Good night all:-)

    1) apart from a bit of a sore head felt much more positive and cheerful this morning - sometimes one just needs a darn good cry on a friend's shoulder.
    2) nice walk into work. quite warm. struck by how beautiful the trees are this time of year
    3) then all the heat went out of the day and i didn't have a coat. fortunately dd2 could come pick me up
    4) lost 1/2 pound at world of slimming. amazing considering the emotional roller coaster my week was
    5) then mrpiano picked me up and we went to mr t. probably not a good idea when hungry. we won't need beans for a while!

    Evening all:)

    Five pleasures for recently:

    1. Brilliant long hug from DS1 who saw that I needed one and offered.

    2. Managed to get aged-mum to the hairdressers and back home in one piece today. She'll need a couple of days to recover but at least we did it and the haircut was fantastic.

    3. DS2 has offered to visit aged-grandparents both this week and next after work.

    4. Stunning sunset last night.

    5. Started to list daily achievements which I know works well as a survival tactic when life is proving particularly challenging. It soon mounts up and is very encouraging.

    Sweet dreams
